I thought the food was pretty good, but very overpriced. It was nice that entrees came with some broth and a salad, but I don’t that that made up for how expensive things were. I saw on here that most reviews said the service wasn’t that great, but ours wasn’t bad, although we were the only table in there. We ordered hummus and the Salta with chicken to split. The taste was good, and I would order it again. This place only takes cash, but they do have an ATM in case you forget.

Forget about the service, they also don’t have a proper server but their food tastes pretty good! Will try new items next time when I am there. Totally up for it! Take out time is about five minutes, which is a pro.

I’m Iraqi so I know Middle Eastern food. This place is totally meh. The food is pretty overpriced and the quality is lacking, the atmosphere is very all over the place and while I understand it’s a small business maybe they can sit down and talk about how to be professional. Our waitress was on her phone non stop and the other guy that worked there, or maybe just hung out, was all over the place talking about the news and turning the tv volume up… …they also need to realize that they aren’t the only people in the world that speak Arabic and that some of the stuff they are saying regarding the news is completely unprofessional and can be offensive. Oh and can you at least offer water to your customers, and napkins? Maybe like silverware? They were also out of our first three choices that we tried to order… why give us a menu in the first place then? Just let us know what you have!

This restaurant is one of my favorite reasons to go to Baltimore! I usually get the foul and Kabsa along with tea. I’ve tried samples off of my friends plates and I was happy with them all. And all honesty I would be happy ordering anything with lamb from this restaurant. If you’ve never had Yemeni food or food from the Gulf give this place a shot. Unfortunately the times I’ve visited I did not have a charged phone to take pics. So I will have to update my review for next time around. This restaurant is cute and cozy. Sometimes there can be a bit of a communication barrier with the servers. However the servers have always been attentive and friendly.

Food was good, but the dine-in experience was not. I spotted this place when going to another restaurant, and decided to come here with a colleague for lunch, and we were the only ones there. We asked for water but the waitress said they only had bottled water. Never heard of this at a restaurant before but we ordered bottled water. My colleague wanted chicken curry, they didn’t have it. She asked for another chicken dish, the waitress came back later and said they didn’t have that either. I had the lamb kabsa and my colleague had chicken kabsa. We had to ask for napkins and tea. The waitress was disengaged. Ten minutes later three other customers came and sat at another table. Then we noticed the waiter brought glasses of water to them! The waitress had told us they only had bottled water. The male waiter(maybe the owner?) was a lot friendlier but he wasn’t the one who served us. The plastic table cloth looked old and never cleaned. I can see how different people can have very different experience with this place because clearly we were treated very differently. I agree with another reviewer that the food was OK but overpriced. With the kind of service we received, I will not go back. I think they have plenty of take-out demand that they don’t really care about the dine-ins.

Don’t go here for the décor. Go for the food which is amazing! And so is the service! The lamb items are delicious! We had lamb haneez and lamb cops and both were awesome! The complimentary soup was out of the world!

The food was flavor and authentic. We created a sampler platter out of appetizers and tried it all. Make sure you try the Fassolia! The chicken curry was great and the rice on the side had an amazing flavor! Try the Yemen tea. This is homestyle family place. If you want something, ask for it. If you wsnt more tea, dont be afraid to get up and get some! Delicious flavors on classic dishes!

We liked the Foul, Lamb haneez and Kabsa. The entries come with lots of rice. Never been to Yemen but I guess food is as authentic as it gets. Complementary cardamon yemeni tea was good. Unfortunately they don’t make yemeni bread so that was disappointing. Service is slow and décor is simply absent.

Overpriced, and the food was just OK. It’s definitely an authentic, immigrant-owned small business with all customers and staff speaking Arabic. They had red plastic sheets covering the tables. I got the Fahsa with chicken, which is like a thick stew with potatoes, shredded chicken, and okra. My husband got the Haneez, or roasted lamb, which was roasted and served with rice and potatoes. The Fahsa itself was warm and filling but came with flat bread which was a bit dry and didn’t taste too fresh. Some pieces of the Haneez, or lamb, was good while other pieces were dry. The rice was really good with hints of cardamom. They serve you free soup and salad in the beginning, and they have free serve-yourself tea(best with sugar) on the side. The bill rang up to $ 30 but they mistakenly charged our credit card $ 33. Once it was charged, the server realized we ordered an extra side of which which was an extra $ 5. All meat dishes here are between $ 15-$ 20 and appetizers about $ 7-$ 8. It’s expensive and I don’t think worth the price. I guess the real estate is prime right in Little Italy.

4.5 stars, but I rounded down since they were out of lamb when I went and it crushed my dreams. Overall, the food was great though. My wife had the chicken curry and I had the Salta with chicken. The lamb soup they serve with the meals was tasty with a nice spice, and it also came out with a salad to share. I enjoyed the salta, although I’ve never had whipped fenugreek before, and it was a strange taste at first. All in all a pretty good dish though. The wife’s curry came with seasoned rice, and although drier than an asian curry, it was really tasty. The servings were definitely on the large side and it was a lot of food for $ 32 with tip. We basically both got a full lunch today in addition to getting pretty stuffed during dinner. The service was also warm, prompt and welcoming. We’ll definitely be going back, and calling ahead to make sure we get some lamby goodness.

Fooul is so good! Getting this bubbly hot bowl of stewed fava is essential in unlocking the kitchen’s hidden talent. Aden tea(chai aden, to be exact). Get it without sugar so you can mix to taste at the table. Redolent with clove and cardamon. If you are a chai lover, this is gonna be your jam. I thought the haniz(rice with lamb) was good but very lightly spiced. If you like to be punched in the face with flavor(like I do), go with something else. This is a very low key stewed dish of lamb with some veggies served with something like finely diced salsa for kick. Falafel is bright green in the middle, a huge plus in my book, but made without discernible spice which is puzzling. One of the customers there said he’s been coming almost every day since it opened. He recommended the capsa(kapsa? Katsa?), so a return visit is in order. I may have to amend my rating. The place is very humble and most of the ambience is provided by the lovely waitstaff who wear bright headdresses. We didn’t get dessert as servings are roll-out-the-door big.

The owner is very friendly and this place smells amazing as soon as you walk in the door. The aroma of fresh Yemeni spices makes the mouth water. We ordered chicken shawarma and falafel sandwiches to go because the place was packed on a Sunday at dinner time. Only $ 4 each! Sooo tasty! I will be back!

Omg I finally can go to an authentic Arabic restaurant, within 10 min from my house. Not only authentic but also cooked with the wonderful Yemeni spices and wonderful and healthy, middle eastern vegetable.
