I stayed here for a weekend in August 2015. The room was spectacular as well as the gorgeous bath. Extremely comfortable and clean Breakfast was skimpy but delicious. I wished for more coffee. The wine, cheese, and crackers in the evening were a nice treat. The owners were hospitable. It’s very close to the center, yet removed enough go have quiet. I would definitely go back.

I needed a room for one night in Bar Harbor and went to my corporate travel agent website to book one. I booked the Chiltern by mistake(either the website’s or my own, I’m not sure). Let be clear — this was NOT the Inn’s fault — what follows is: I immediately tried to call the Inn and cancel. All I got was voice mail. I tried numerous times over the course of the next day to contact the Inn with no response. I got my corporate travel agent involved and they were able to cancel the reservation — finally! However, the Inn said they would keep a $ 50 cancellation penalty. I travel all the time for work, book hotels online every week, and have never had a hotel refuse to refund a deposit when contacted in a timely manner(I called within 5 minutes of making the reservation). Additionally, I’ve tried for weeks to get a manager on the phone — apparently this is something that can’t be done. HORRENDOUSSERVICE!

Walked around inside. This is a truly lovely place with only three rooms that would be great for three couples vacationing together. The common spaces are spacious and pleasant. If you’re on bicycles, this is just a 3-minute bike to town. No waterview.
