Much cleaner & safer than the laundromats downtown, which I appreciate; that being said, this place has the potential to be a lot better than it is. I think it’s ridiculous that the restrooms are locked after 3pm when the daytime attendant leaves – the place is open 168 hrs/week, but the restroom is only accessible for 35 of those hrs, not even half. Close to half of the machines are out of order, & it’s no wonder, considering I watched a lady blatantly break the rules by stuffing 2 of the 60 lb washers full of stuffed animals, pillows, & comforters. That being said, you can probably blame this defiance on the high prices… at $ 8 for a 60 lb washer, you best believe people are cramming in all they can fit at once! Also, I ran a very small load of towels(like 5) for an hour & they still weren’t completely dry. Thankfully, this was only a one-time visit for my husband & I as we just moved & our washer/dryer are in storage… we dropped roughly $ 20 on a large load of clothes &5 towels, & still didn’t get everything dry.

Not sure why people complain about the prices… if you want cheap go to one of the dirty laundromats. I found the prices reasonable and the staff friendly. I will definitely go back. Also the place is immaculate!

I shouldn’t have to pay for laundry and not be able to urinate. They lock the restrooms after 3. It is also about 30% pricier than other laundromats. I’d rather hang out with methheads at a competitor than to come back to this place.

Good but over priced laundry mat. A 30 pound washer costs $ 5 and dryers take about $ 4 to get everything dry. I understand not everyone is courteous with how they treat laundry mats, but the owner is very paranoid about everything. It would be nice not to treated like you’re are loitering and unwelcome, and instead be treated like a paying customer.

I would have given this place three stars, except for one thing: Laura, the owner, is CRAZY. The place is clean. It has free wi-fi. It has some comfortable seating. These are all pluses. Unfortunately it is overpriced to the Nth degree. The largest washer is $ 8, and the dryers are overpriced as well. I just moved to West Virginia from Philadelphia. Philly is one of the most expensive areas in the country, and the laundromat I went to there — also 24 hours like Laura’s, clean and comfortable — charged $ 4.50 for the largest washer, and the dryers were FREE with purchase of your wash. I guess the place there was part of a chain, but the point is that when you move to one of the poorest parts of the country the cost of living goes WAY down. It doesn’t double. I left a mixed review that was far less crass than this one on the facebook page for the business, and Laura threw a hissy fit in her responses, ultimately sending me a diatribe in a private message. «This aint Kansas Dorthy,» she said in what I can only assume was a veiled homophobic slur. «I pay very high rent, a very high interest loan on my equipment and maintenance on my machines every 4 – 6 weeks. The utilities are extremely high in West Virginia.» Well, MISSTHANG, if you think the utilities in West Virginia are higher than in Philadelphia, you’re living on another planet. Why don’t you just admit that you’re greedy and let it go? You got a bad review that you’ve only made worse with your piss poor attitude.

Laura’s Laundromat opened in the River Place Plaza about a month after we moved to Barboursville, and it was the only laundromat we used for our almost two years in the Huntington area. It was a wonderful place to go – three flat screen TVs and free pizza on Monday nights(though it sounds like that may have been cancelled due to customer abuse?) made doing laundry a pleasant task. It was also clean and bright, with lots of windows. The only downside was that the location wasn’t big enough — they could have used several more washers, especially bigger ones. There was usually at least one big washer broken, and a lot of the customers tried to take advantage of Laura and didn’t help keep the place neat and caused the closing of the restrooms. That said, we still loved it there, and Laura is a super nice person that we enjoyed getting to know.
