We did the one day Mount Washington winter ascent yesterday with Corey as our guide and it was fantastic. We were 5 completely inexperienced climbers — to give you an idea of how inexperienced, one of our group had pajama pants on as his base layer… From helping us find the right gear to showing us how to actually use it to talking me through a slightly scary section, Corey was so patient and all around just a really good guy. I can’t say enough good things about our experience and we would all highly recommend using Northeast Mountaineering.

I can’t recommend these guys enough! I stayed for 14 days at the Bunkhouse which was an amazing and very affordable lodging option. It is also very close to town and has several great food options nearby. I completed the 5 day Mountaineering course, Mt. Washington summit and the 3 days Ice Climbing course and each and every one of the guides I met was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and safe. They made each day fun and I absolutely recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic! Highly recomend to anyone looking for just a place to stay of any kind of winter activity. My friend and I stayed at the Bunkhouse for our Mt. Washington guided hike, although we didn’t reach the summit due to a bad storm rolling in, it was amazing! The guides are great! The place is a wam welcoming cabin! They have everything you would need there also. Can’t wait to be back this winter!

Went waterfall rapelling with another couple(we went for an anniversary adventure and chose to leave the kids at home) Had a fabulous time. Brett is the consummate professional and helped capture our experience with the most awe inspiring photos. Will recommend to all my friends!

Two great trips with these guys — rock climbing and a waterfall rappel. Couldn’t help but book an ice climbing trip with them for this upcoming winter. Guys are down to earth and very knowledgable! Highly recommend NEM.

This review is specifically for their waterfall rappelling tour. The staff was very friendly and professional, and it was all very safe. It was fun, but we were imagining more like a canyoneering experience where you go down multiple waterfalls in a longer and more complex route. Instead, we hiked about half an hour to a popular waterfall, and then each took 3 turns rapping down the falls and hiking back up. We drove up to their office near North Conway from Boston just for the day, and it didn’t seem worth it to sit in a car for 7 hours with traffic for what was essentially only about 15 minutes of rappelling total.

Man, what’s to say, these guys are awesome! I have ice climbed with Northeast Mountaineering 2 times this season and winter hiked Tuckerman’s Ravine once. Brett and Corey are professional and incredibly knowledgeable about the outdoors along with bringing safety and experience; they let you learn in a seriously fun way the joys of these great outdoor sports. There Bunkhouse facility is awesome, providing a cheap place to stay before and/or after any trips for a small fee. There equipment rental is spot on and they often have some combo discounts and seem fare. The Bunkhouse is conveniently located in North Conway and is a perfect meeting point for the days adventures. If you are looking to try ice climbing, rock climbing, mountaineering, etc. check these guys out. I have some winter mountaineering skills before signing up, but some great stuff was learned. Check out their website for some of their trips offered, really a great company to get in touch with. Thanks to Brett, Corey, and Hewitt for some great photos, and stories. p. s. definitely going back for more adventures in the future!

Hiking Mt. Washington in the winter is a difficult and sometimes scary feat, but with Corey and Brett as your guides there is nothing to worry about! They not only make climbing safe but they make it fun. They are very detailed about how to prepare and what to bring on the climb– they also have most of the gear available for rent if you don’t already have it, which makes things a lot easier. I was one of the slower hikers in the group and they were able to split up the group so that the less experienced people could go at a more comfortable pace for them and not drag down the others– it worked out great and everyone got the experience they were looking for. Both Brett and Corey keep things positive and the encouragement flowing. All in all it was a most excellent adventure and I will definitely plan to climb with Northeast Mountaineering again!
