Booklady’s Book Attic

The cutest book shop! Inexpensive and a huge selection from children to adult books. I tell the owner what I typically like to read and she always has suggestions for me and I have yet to be disappointed.

I stopped by for the first time today to check out the place. So glad I did. I loved the set up. Found tons of things that I wanted to take home with me. Enjoyed talking to the owner. It is a must see place. This will be added to my weekly run.

Mrs. Jaramillo has the cutest shop in town! She has lots and lots of books to fit any genre you may be interested in, and also the CUTEST little children’s nook in the back. The decorations throughout the store are precious and truly reflect on Bartlett’s small-​town feel. It’s cozy and comfortable and the perfect place to spend shopping on a weekend afternoon.

Great place with a wonderful selection of books. Customer service is impeccable. She always greets our family by name and my kids are always so excited to go to the Book Lady! Keep up the great work, this is a great small business addition to Downtown Bartlett.

Such a cute, quaint, and cozy treasure trove of books. A short little hike up a flight of stairs will lead you up to an attic that hosts a royal feast for a reader’s imagination. The owner of the store is a delightful lady that has a contagious passion for literacy. She is incredibly compassionate, joyful, and inspiring. We must fight to preserve bookstores like these in our day and age.

I’ve been buying from Pamala since before she opened the shop and believe she has a knack for finding the fun and unique! Definitely worth the drive, I’m coming down from Wisconsin soon.

I’m so excited to have found such an amazing bookstore to take my children to. The prices are amazing and the atmosphere is so unique and unlike any other bookstore I have ever seen. If you haven’t been here yet, I highly recommend that you visit!

When I daydream about what my home library will look like someday, I picture the Book Attic. Stacks and stacks of (surprisingly organized and pleasantly chaotic!) books to explore, stools and kneelers to make browsing comfortable, a room full of children’s books, and hidden gems. Everything is super affordable and, though used, in great condition. Pam, the owner, is so friendly and enthusiastic. She’s given me some great recommendations and has even offered to hunt down some hardcover copies of my favorite books to complete my collection. When I make purchases, she removes the price tags so they aren’t an eyesore on the covers. How thoughtful! She pays it forward, too, by donating books to a reservation. I love the Book Attic!

This place is AMAZING! I’m a stay at home mom with 2 little boys who enjoy reading very much! It got very expensive buying books at Barnes and nobles and the books at the thrift shops are never organized or really any good for that matter. Anyway, I found this GEM of a place near my home and it’s perfect for us! They have a room just for the kids books and one for teens and another for adults. The whole place is filled with books! Great books in great conditions!!! And they are soo inexpensive! The children’s books range from $ 1.50-$ 3 (give or take). I typically only buy hardcover books so it’s a great deal! We have not bought any books from any other place since we found The Book Lady’s Book Attic! Literally one of our favorite places to visit :) it’s a perfect outing for a gloomy day! The adult books are great too! You will not be disappointed! She can also host private book parties after hours! the owner Pam Is so helpful and sweet! She’s always greets us with a smile! I think it’s safe to say we’re OBSESSED!!!

Great selection of children’s books, priced $ 1 – 4 for gently used books. The book lady is open to suggestion and happy to take requests for books I am interested in. Cash only, but this prevents me from going way over my $ 20 book limit while I am there. I much prefer to visit a small business than a corporate-​owned discount bookstore.

This is such a charming hidden gem in downtown Bartlett! I am normally downtown getting my regular chiropractic treatment and have hoped to visit the new bookshop, which is right next door, but was never lucky enough to be there when the hours coincided. Thankfully we were in luck one of the days and quickly made a bee line to the Book Lady’s Book Attic! What we thought the would be a quick stop turned into a couple hours of browsing amazing books and chatting with the super nice and knowledgeable owner. The variety is amazing and prices were fantastic. There is a little something for everyone in the book attic, from very young readers to history buffs and everything inbetween. Definitely go check it out!

What a gem! So glad this wonderful used book store opened up in downtown Bartlett, walking distance to the Metra Train Station and many restaurants and shops in Bartlett. She has a huge selection of old books and more importantly, current best sellers and children’s books of all ages– from board books to young adult novels. I’ve purchased my kids books here for school required reading — as well as fun novels to read while traveling — and the prices are SO reasonable that I can pay it forward and leave a book with someone else when I’m finished. You really need to check it out– and before downloading your next book club book– browse her selection– I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for– and more… if not– let her know and she will find it for you.
