Bastrop 1832 Farmers Market

Great fresh local organic fruits and veggies. Some incredible homemade jams and jellies too.

I love this little Farmer’s Market. The local vendors are friendly and knowledgeable. A great selection of items to choose from and the prices are much more reasonable than the Austin markets I’ve been to. Way to go Bastrop!

I tried to make it out here as soon as I found out about it — I mean, I absolutely adore the city and really wanted to see what they had to offer in terms of organics. I’m really into green smoothies for myself and my family and I’m always looking for new ingredients to add and experiment with (not to mention stuff for my bunny armada!) :)
Finally got here and I’m not sure if I just came at a bad time or what because there really wasn’t much available. There were maybe about 10(?) vendors and only about half of them were selling produce while only about a couple of those folks had any more than 3 or 4 items left on their tables. From my experience at the market at Pearl Brewery, I knew I’d have to make it out as early as possible but when even getting here at 11 (they’re open on Saturdays from 10 – 2), there wasn’t anything to it. I hope they get more vendors out; however, the place its held at didn’t look like it would hold many people to begin with. We’ll see. I have high hopes that things will pick up.
