Lock’s is the neighborhood drug store you think of when you think of a Norman Rockwell print. Today I joined the family for an after school surprise. Hard to beat Blue Bell ice-​cream cone on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Served with a smile, this little spot on Main Street in Bastrop scoops up a memory of a simpler time. The sounds of customers coming and going, chatting it up with the staff as their orders are filled, help complete the nostalgic scene. The family and I love these impromptu afternoon meetings downtown. #ExploreBastrop

Nothing fancy about Lock, but served our needs in two ways. First visit, had to get some basic medication and such. Prices were fair, and folks were helpful. Later in the day, returned to hit the old-​fashioned soda fountain. Good malts (powdered, not liquid, malt), root beer floats (all Blue Bell ice cream). We’d definitely hit it again when in Bastrop.
