Fruitful Yield

I enjoy visiting other branches of this chain but not the one in Batavia. If I need help, and it is a busy day, I cannot find anyone who is not gabbing to another consumer. If I go and the place is empty, the employees will not leave me alone. Even when I say no thank you I need no help, I have found what I need, this woman still tried to talk to me. When I told her I was trying to read the label, she walked around the aisle, came back and tried telling me something again. I was ready to hit her over the head with the damn product. Probably should have walked out but I really needed what I came in for. Ran to the cashier and checked out as soon as possible. I will never go to this location again.

The Batavia Fruitful Yield has terrific customer service. The knowledgeable staff takes as much time as necessary to help you find the right item. This is important to me because I’m not always sure what I’m looking for in terms of ingredients. It’s a very welcoming and comfortable place to shop. I’m told this FY branch is not as big as others, but to me the product selection is very broad.

I love the items and the atmosphere in all the Fruitful Yield stores I have been in however, I will NEVER love the pricing. I understand some high pricing because I understand the sourcing, environmental impact and the like of those items but the pricing of some, less challenging or less ethically sourced items, baffles me. Because I am actually poor, unlike most of the other patrons, and a student, I can only ever get tiny treats from here. I hope to someday be able to shop here for more than drinks and vegan sweets; maybe when I am done with school…

I am a huge fan of this store chain. I first discovered this chain when it was open in Aurora. Of course, that location was very small and in a bad part of town BUT it was worth the drive to get the all natural and vegan things I needed. Then the Batavia location opened and I was THRILLED! This store has everything you need in an all natural /​organic store. They have lots of vitamins, beauty/​hygiene supplies, grocery and even cleaning products. This is the first FY that I have been in that has a produce section which is great. Its nice to find those interesting items that are fresh and organic.
Overall, I love this store and am so happy that they came to the Kane County area.
Also the staff is wonderful and friendly and they do know their stuff!

So I went here looking for oil for my stretched ears… I am allergic to so many things so thought that natural essential oils was the way to go. So I asked one woman who was stocking and she said she didn’t know much about the oils then she pushed me onto another older woman. I have hanging tapers made out of bone and I didn’t want the oil to change the white colour they currently had since bone in porous they take on colour really easily… I started explaining what I was looking for and what I was not looking for she basically almost yelled at me and said «well what did they tell you to use!»…ok hold the phone… who is ‘they’…I didn’t get it and then finally after more of the same treatment… I said never mind to her and I walked away and said I would ask someone else for help. Then I found this guy who was super nice he may have not been the most knowledgeable but he was polite and kind and his girlfriend had stretched ears so he was able to help me. The worst part is the woman who basically yelled at me came over and I quickly looked at her and told her she needed to get away from me… she made the conversation I was having with the kind young man uncomfortable and awkward… she kept on apologizing but come on you just yelled at me… why would I want you to help me?
So if you go in here avoid the elderly woman who you think would be nice but instead she is a cratchy old woman who doesn’t want to help anyone and just yells at you.

This place is right across the street from my work! Its a great place to grab fresh organic produce. They have a limited selection of organic grass fed beef and organic pork! I am still trying all of the local gluten free baked goods they offer in the freezer section. They also have a huge selection of GF flours and mixes. The supplement selection is great to! Don’t forget to ask about their Fruitful Yield bonus points card program! :)
