Perfect diner food. I had a fantastic piece of meatloaf, with fries and gravy. It was delicious. The service was super friendly and very fast. My glass was never empty. What more could you want? Skip the chains and eat local.

My fiancé and I came for breakfast. The service left a lot to be desired, although she didn’t keep us waiting. We both ordered the Corned Beef Hash with toast. I asked if they could sub hash browns and was told they could not. Not even for an additional charge? Nope, you have to order a side of hash browns for $ 2.49 if you want them. When the food came, the corned beef hash was over-salted and greasy. Our eggs were undercooked and bland. We both ordered coffee as well and it was terrible. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

While the people and service is good, the food is pretty bland at best. I just got a Greek salad, it was all iceberg lettuce and the lettuce was wilted and stale. The hard-bolied egg on the salad tasted 5 days old. Find another diner.

I like it here. Went for the first time a couple weeks ago. I ordered the beef on weck. It’s a nice, comfortable little spot to go when you’re looking for a cheap place to eat. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are really good for what you pay! The food is pretty good. Nothing stupendous. But i would go back. It’s a great casual place to take a family. If you’re passing through batavia when you’re hungry, give this place a go!

I was in Batavia for the day. Having read the reviews of this place decided to go for breakfast since several people commented on how good their breakfasts are. I’m afraid I have to disagree. I ordered a simple meal — scrambled eggs, toast, and coffee. The eggs were a little dry but the real disappointment was the toast. They ‘butter’ their toast with margarine. Sorry, but that puts them on a par with Denny’s which isn’t worth bragging about. And the jam choices were apple something and concord grape — no strawberry! On the plus side the coffee was good. Service was friendly as was the atmosphere. But I probably wouldn’t go here again.

Your best bet here is breakfast and not much else. Typical diner and very much in the style of Batavia. Good prices and family atmosphere make it a hot spot Sundays after church. Pancakes are good and a good portion size as well.

A great place to make you feel at home. Good food for the price. Homemade soups are great and their pies are well worth trying… Yummy!

It’s a diner with good and inexpensive grub. It doesn’t make me jump up and shout, but it’s a fine place to find yourself on a cold morning in Batavia. Other reviewers(on other sites) complained about the service. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. It was fine service. They were quick to take our order and quick to deliver our food, yet they didn’t rush us when we lingered a while. I love that they have corned beef hash on the breakfast menu, and it was pretty good too. Simple, but good.

Everytime I go home, I have to have dinner here. Meatloaf & mashed potatoes and a piece of chocolate pie for dessert. This Batavia standard has been here since 1933. When I was a kid, there were juke boxes at every single table. A redesign in the late 80’s saw them removed, but that is OK. The food is standard American diner food. They make great home made soups daily, and have a breakfast special that even the cheap part of me can’t bark at. Lots of pink pleather seating & an old diner counter with those little bar stools that spin. They even have a suprisingly good Greek Eats section on the menu. The wait staff are exceptionally friendly, and the clientele are generally all locals. Not typical of a place tourist seek out, but then again, either is Batavia, NY. I’d suggest checking it out if you find yourself in Western N.Y.
