Rima Akoum At Mai Mira Salon

Rima is professional, friendly and is very good at her job! She is precise and is a student at her craft; always learning. She does not rush, but is efficient. She’s the best I’ve had to thread my eyebrows.

As of today, I will never trust anyone, besides Rima, with touching my eyebrows! I’m very picky about how they look and she absolutely nailed it! She was fast, welcoming, and my brows look better than EVER! Don’t go to the mall and see an amateur! Rima is the way to go!

I just moved to town and needed some serious grooming done before I interviewed for a job. So I browsed the always helpful Unilocal and found Rima. She got me in on very short notice, the morning of my interview. I got a wash, cut and style and my eyebrows threaded. The wash came with a head massage and was so very relaxing. The cut was just a trim but I have naturally curly hair and have had trims messed up before and Rima was very attentive to this fact. She didn’t cut it too short and she fixed my bangs from the last cut I had. She styled my hair straight (without a straightening iron, which I always appreciate). For my eyebrows, I originally was going to get them waxed, but Rima convinced me to try threading and I wan’t disappointed. I have bleach blonde eyebrows that are very hard to see when they aren’t colored in which can give some people I have been to hassle, but Rima didn’t have an issue at all and they are very nicely shaped. I went to my interview relaxed and feeling quite marvelous, where I proceeded to get the job. As a reward to myself I decided to get my hair dyed (something I have only done once before), so I called up Rima and again she got me in at very short notice, fitting me in between appointments. I have naturally red hair but I wanted to go with a dark but bright red. I brought in a picture and showed it to Rima and she suggested ways to do it and that I go with an ombré look. I am not sure if my hair just didn’t like the dye, or the glaze that was in before stopped the dye from sticking but the color didn’t quite turn out like I wanted. It wasn’t very red red. But it was still pretty and the ombré look did look pretty cool. I will probably go back and have her try dying it again and even more red. See how that turns out.

The salon is first class and Rima always makes you feel like a King or Queen. I wish I had hair for her to do her magic on :) But I have seen amazing examples of her work on both men and women.
Back to my experience… The facial was exhilirating as I was able to see immediate results. She is such a pro at the waxing… wouldnt go anywhere else… And her skills as a makeup artist (permanent) are probably the best in Baton Rouge.

I went to Rima as a walk-​in, she was so nice to fit me in in-​between appointments, as I was only looking for a cut and style. I showed her the picture of what I wanted. She not only told me why I could not have that cut, yet, but also showed me a great alternative that would work with the shape of my face and how to style it when I got home. She’s also a one stop shop, which I love, you can book a day a beauty with her. Thank you Rima.
