Never disappointed when we go to Julie’s! Always meets our expectations: Yummy, down-home, country food. It’s just what you’re looking for when you just want THAT classic American breakfast.(But better) Love the Eggs Benedict. And the Biscuits & Gravy. The potatoes are so good… Writing this is actually making me hungry… We just love Julie’s! She’s very nice & the atmosphere is small-town local. I’ve been when the cute, house-style restaurant is FILLED with older folks who you know go there all the time. And they all know each other & just make the experience that much more enjoyable. Very friendly & are not afraid to talk to you! Hahaha. Been here quite a few times recently & of course, will be going back. Thanks, Julie!

Ok that was seriously some great eating! My dad and I both had the Chicken Fried Steak: PERFECT! The chicken was just right and the gravy just thick enough… The fries on Ali’s plate were great; crunchy and flavorful while not overly greasy. Lovely ladies serving in a cute setting with great food: what’s not to like?

This place was delicious! I had the breakfast omelet. It’s the kind your mama used to make. Very quaint and pretty inside. Very tiny, but homey place. You might need to wait a little longer for parties larger than two people, but it’s a great place to go out for breakfast on the weekends! Loved it! Very friendly staff, too! Lovely little restaurant!

A good breakfast spot! Feels like you’re eating breakfast at someone’s house. Friendly folks serving hearty breakfast fare. Coffee was about average in flavor.

Really, really filling comfort food. A very basic menu; however, the food is seasoned and cooked well and nothing is overdone. I would order an extra side of the sauce that comes with the chicken fried steak as it is very good! Not too salty and tastes good on eggs and potatoes. The diner is very small so if its busy there will be a bit if a wait but the service was friendly. I had to take half my meal home as I’m not a big eater and the portions were large. I came by myself to eat after a quick day at work and the atmosphere is very relaxing, not too loud or awkward to sit by yourself. A real local place. Don’t miss the turn as you drive up to the restaurant with all the construction its hiding a bit. I am definitely coming back for lunch and dinner!

This place is just so authentic, you gotta love it. It has such a personal, down home feel and you can tell all the patrons are regulars because they seem to all be on a first name basis with everyone else in the place, servers included. The food is pretty good. I’ve had an amazing burger and sandwich there, and a not half bad eggs benedict. It hits the spot when the spot needs to be hit. I feel like I’m in a quentin tarantino movie, sans the dusky desert landscape, when I’m in this place, which lends it a certain magic. I think Julie’s is a Gem and I’m really happy it was spared in the Hwy 502 expansion project. It was sad to see the Irish joint next door get taken down by law of eminent domain. I hope Julie’s has a long road ahead.

Don’t be put off by the faded sign and nondescript exterior. This is a great classic diner, generous and tasty portions, friendly service, great value. We especially liked the hearty breakfast potatoes.

Cozy locals only vibe. Friendly staff. Home style food. Its definitely a LITTLE local joint so be ready to cuddle up lol. Great waffles and my eggs were perfect but I was a bit disappointed that the«whipped butter» tasted like margarine and the extra crispy hash browns I requested were only crispy on the out side and just soft potato mush on the inside pike they just flipped the pile once on the grill. Food took a long time but they were clearly slammed and we weren’t I’m a hurry. My husband loved his home style potatoes and sea burger. We’ll go again the food was good for the price and we love supporting local business.

I found myself just outside of Battle Ground last weekend for a softball tournament, and upon waking up from my first night camping out, needed a place to grab breakfast. This place is a little place on the side of the road, and the main drag in front of it is currently being torn up, so you may wind up driving past it and having to do a u-turn(I did… but it was also 6:30 in the morning). My eggs were pretty delicious, and the upside to being up at the asscrack of dawn was that my food came out quickly. This place is tiny, there couldn’t have been more than 7 or 8 tables in the place, along with a very small patio with a couple of additional tables. The offerings are your standard diner breakfast fare– omelets, steak and eggs, along with a sandwich and burger selection for those coming in later. The added benefit is the early morning breakfast club has some really cute old people that flip each other a good amount of funny grief.

This little place is easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it, and I love that kind of place. Local, welcoming, and good quality food and service. It’s a cozy little spot with maybe 10 tables, a small gift shop in the corner, and paintings for sale hanging on the walls. My husband had chicken fried steak and I had a shrimp omelet that was generous with shrimp. Service was friendly and quick. Our water glasses and coffee cups were always full. It’s a family-friendly place, though most of the folks who came in and lingered were older. But I love seeing that kind of interaction: customers coming in who are obviously regulars and have a very easy and familiar relationship with the restaurant staff. It shows me the place is doing something right. Support a local spot and hit Julie’s Cottage Kitchen!

We have been meaning to try this place for a while, and finally managed it after two failed attempts, where we tried to go on days they closed at 2pm(Sunday-Thursday). It was worth trying again. The place is small, and right now there is massive road expansion tearing up the streets all around the corner this cottage sits back from. They seat approximately thirty people. There are paintings for sale all around, up by the ceiling, as well as knick knacks for sale in the back corner. They sell locally made, wheat free dog treats, which benefit kids. As silly as it sounds, they have little trivia pamphlets on each table, and that’s something I love to peruse while waiting for my food. There’s a lizard the kids can look for, and if you find the printed lizard, you can send in your name, a photo and where the lizard was and they will print you in the next issue. On a side note, they do not take reservations. They are too small for that anyway. They did have four tables or so out on the patio, for extended seating. They do take credit and debit, but not American Express. I did not partake as cider is more my thing, but beer and other alcohols were posted on the chalkboard. They also have a list of scrumptious looking deserts on the right side of the board. I briefly grumbled to my tummy about it’s lack of cooperation in all things gluten, and then looked on the bright side: there’s a lot I can eat. Water was brought out immediately. The waitress/co-owner was quick with the coffee and a smile. I did find out, after we sat down, breakfast is only served until 1pm. They have a good variety of omelets, ham and eggs, pancakes, and the like. The average cost there is seven or eight dollars. Not bad. They are open until 8pm Friday and Saturday only. Dinner is only served after 4:30pm. Dinner consists of chicken, fish, or steak orders. They average thirteen, but include a baked potato, rice, or salad. Lunch(the middle of the menu) consists of sandwiches and burgers. Again, average cost is about eight dollars for a meal. We ordered a strawberry milkshake(they use whole, frozen strawberries… yum!) and two bacon cheeseburgers. Mine, of course, had to be without bread. The waitress was pleasant about telling the cook(her sister) to make sure not to contaminate my burger through grilling it where the buns are grilled. I had potato salad and the dh had the fries and bun, as he can. The food is magnificent. My burger was subway shaped… not typical, but I’m good with that. The bacon was perfection. As we eat, we mumble, between delicious mouthfuls, how good bacon is becoming a lost art. The burger has American cheese; cheddar and Swiss are choices as well. The potato salad has perfectly cooked potato pieces(firm, but not mushy), mustard, mayo, eggs, and possibly onion. I only added pepper as it was so good. You can taste the mustard, but it compliments everything, rather than running it over. The burger is charred to mouthwatering perfection, while remaining juicy and flavorful inside. The tomato is firm and fresh(no green centers here), and romaine lettuce with sliced white onion accompanied everything. I didn’t even put ketchup on my burger. It needed nothing. They couldn’t tell me what the patty weighed, but the plate is full size and the patty is large on that plate. The milkshake is the happy consistency of liquid enough to use a straw, but not too thin, with a mountain of whip cream on top. I’m not a big sugar person, so I had to split this thing. It was the same size as a twenty ounce Starbucks cup. I ended up having to take some of my potato salad home. The food is great, but my stomach can only hold so much. We were very happy with our whole experience and will definitely be back. If you are gluten intolerant(like my happy self), bun-less burger with potato salad, cottage cheese, or salad are an option, almost everything on the dinner menu, and most of the breakfast menu. I love that this place is locally owned and operated.

After waiting 20 min for just someone to take our order. With still Noone to come by to take it. We left. I did order a Pepsi and took 1 drink out of it. My wife paid for that which kind of pissed me off. Cuz I couldn’t get the soda to go. I hate this place due to the fact it’s always slow. The parking lot sucks nuts and it’s super tiny. The few people that f equestrian here always take up the room an b.s. with each other even when they’re not eating

This restaurant is an awesome place for breakfast. My kids love the cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting and my favorite thing is the corned beef hash. The coffee is good, the prices are fair and the service is super friendly. It’s about 20min. from my house but it’s worth going out of my way for. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The food here is pretty good. I usually get the omelet. The portions are pretty big and I can usually share with someone that I am with. People always seems pretty happy and it is busy on Sundays(which happens to be the only day I have been here) The brunch selection is limited in this area and so I consider this my go to breakfast place when I am in town.

This little place was a great experience. It’s a small place but the service was great. Very nice and excepting. The prices are really good. I had the eggs Benedict with home style potatoes. Tasted good and was a large portion. I didn’t even get a chance to start my bottomless pancakes.

Julie’s Cottage Kitchen serves up home-style, country cookin’ in a simple shack at the intersection of farmland and the boonies(NE219th St &NE72nd Ave … aka Dollars Corner) … Drop in, sit a spell, and have heapin’ helpin’ of hospitality. Eating at Julie’s is first and foremost about the friendly home vibe except people are way nicer than in your actual home. If it feels like they know everybody, it’s because they probably do. Nearly as warm as the service was a cup of Hot Tea($ 1.99) and bowl of Clam Chowder(Friday only $ 3.99). They took the edge off the chilly wet weather and helped me feel right at home. Free Sourdough Bread was a nice touch. I later saw another table get the Chowder in a Bread Bowl, so, I recommend that. Chicken Fried Steak($ 12.99) reminds me of home … and it’s hard to get more country than classic Chicken Fried Steak with a side of home-made Cheesy Mashed Potatoes and a side of Bacon Corn … all of it slathered with a thick and creamy Gravy. My arteries may be a little tighter this week, but my tastebuds sure were happy. To round out my home-style meal, I added a slice of home-made Lemon Pie($ 3.99). On the plus side, it was home-made, but it wasn’t as tart as I like my lemon pie … of course, it’s still better than most things you find at your local supermarket. It was a genuine pleasure to stop in and visit Julie’ Cottage Kitchen. It’s not the kind of place you find much of these days. It’s the kind of small family-friendly restaurant that not only serves home-style food, but is a home-style place to drop in, sit a spell, and have heapin’ helpin’ of hospitality. Y’all come back now, y’hear?

We went to Julie’s on a Sunday morning around 11am. The Christmas décor was up which was bright and cheery though taking space away from an already tiny interior. Every table is always in use and the super nice employees know how to run the place efficiently. As much as I liked this place and the people, I really do wish I loved their food. It is true, the Chicken Fried Steak is pretty good, but I have had better. I found the square biscuit to be disappointing and dry(what is with the pan-cut square biscuits around here? That is not a biscuit). I ordered my egg over hard and was served an inedible rubbery disc of something resembling an overcooked egg frisbee. I didn’t care for the texture of the Strawberry swedish crepes and they were too thick which made all of the strawberry filling fall out. This is a very nice and friendly place, but I prefer a bit more space and better tasting food.

Stopped up at this quaint little café for breakfast. Pretty standard menu featuring omelettes, pancakes, and regular items. I ordered the eggs Benedict. $ 8.99 and it was delicious with a good slice of Canadian bacon that overhung both muffins and was think. Nice touch with the flavored creamers at the table and bottomless coffee refills. Would make this a regular place if I lived here. Great food at great prices.
