Probably one of the best family owned ice cream joints in town. They make all of their ice cream in-house, and the ice cream itself is rich and creamier than its competitors. They have a wide variety of flavors for essentially anyone, and they don’t taste artificial. Their scoop sizes are incredibly generous, so order smaller if you can’t decide if you want that bigger scoop size! It could definitely use an interior update as it is fairly drab and outdated, but it’s not dirty or scary by any means. The service is always good; nothing to write home about though. Overall, it’s worth the stop, just remember it’s cash only!

Excellent homemade ice cream. I thought our service was excellent. I think it could use a little updating to the floors, the carpet is pretty worn out.

Gigantic portions of ice cream and incredibly friendly service. If you want very unique flavours of ice cream, try Mama Lupos. They have the standard chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, but wait until you try camel hump or mango jalapeño.

We love Mama Lupos. Best prices, HUGE amounts and creamiest ice cream. Guess that comes from being home made. The atmosphere does not bother me. It’s plain with benches inside and picnic tables outside. It appears some people just don’t like good old fashioned flavors. The exotic flavors seem like they are trying to appease children. Or adventurous types. But, looking at the people coming in at a steady stream,(I think we counted at least 42 adults and children) while we sat for 25 minutes, eating our one scoop in a waffle cone, most were ordering standard flavors. When you look at their cones or cups, you pretty much could tell what flavors by looking at their ice cream. While a few and I mean total of four, had unrecognized flavors! This place does not need elaborate scenery, inside or out. It’s a locally owned business that speaks of success, by the quality of its product. Children or adventurous types, who don’t find the flavor of their dreams, at Mama Lupos, should, maybe, to appease themselves, make their own homemade ice cream.

If you’re a true ice cream lover, and you’re there for the ice cream only, this is the place to go! The staff and unimpressive but the ice cream makes up for it. If you know of a place with superior ice cream in the area, let me know!

Outside: This place is open Inside: Ice cream counter only, lacks personality Food: Homemade ice cream Service: Un — engaging Cost: Get more than you pay for If you read my first ice cream review, you know I like ice cream, a little! What saves this place for me is they have cherry vanilla, this is a flavor near impossible to find. This place is worth a visit from time to time during the summer. They do understand how to make decent ice cream in bulk. It seems to be mostly basic flavors and lacks creativity. An example is the wife got a butterscotch chip. That is exactly what it was with butterscotch ice cream. It needed something else. Like I said creativity is missing. This goes for the business as a whole. A building with people that services okay ice cream. Add some passion, this place would be amazing.

I’m always on the lookout for good places to get ice cream, and I prefer independent mom-and-pop businesses when possible. I especially prefer homemade ice cream over the factory-produced stuff. Mama Lupo’s definitely has that family feeling — based on the staff shirts you could tell that the owners were actually scooping the ice cream themselves. The ice cream is cheaper per scoop than other premium homemade ice cream shops in the area and they had a bigger variety of unique flavors. The were a couple downsides, though. All the ice cream is displayed in and served from giant plastic buckets, like the kind of plastic pails you get for industrial cleaners or oil for foodservice uses. I’m sure they’re clean but they just really don’t look attractive or professional. Also, the flavors were a little off. My kid got the«red pop» flavor and said it did not taste like red pop at all, it actually tasted like a stick of butter. I tried it and had to agree. I indulged my inner little kid and got the Superman flavor and it didn’t have much flavor at all. However, my other child loved the watermelon flavor and my husband liked his caramel cashew, so it might just be that some flavors didn’t work well. Overall I’d give it another chance because it wasn’t bad and I like independent businesses, but they definitely have room for improvement.

Hell yeah amazing. I warn you that the double scoop is waayyy more than a double. I just about went into a creamy coma on a single! They give you a heaping pile. It’s cash only… You can also take home quarts. They make all the ice cream there, you can definitely tell the difference. Definitely recommend it!!!
