Extremely fun night last night at the Leif! Went to school a few blocks away(LES), and went here to meet up with some old friends from there. A great welcoming neighborhood type place– if you’re from the area you’ll definitely run into a lot of people you know, and if not you’ll make new friends! Went for karaōke night and sang lots of oldies with the bar regulars. Drinks were quite strong as well. Thought $ 10 for a Jameson and ginger was a bit steep, until it came in a pint glass and was half alcohol lol. Highly recommended!

This place should be SHUTDOWN! When I walked in the bartender was pounding down beers behind the bar. I later went out to smoke and that same bartender who was drinking behind the bar was brutally beating up 3 of the customers outside with the door man. The police showed up about three times from which you could hear the DJ scream from the mic inside, «the cops are here, fuck those pussies.» The bathrooms are disgusting and the trash can was filled with bloody tissues, I’m guessing from the fight. The people as well as the environment here is beyond awful!

I had a post St. Patrick’s Day parade get together for friends and family on Sunday, March 22nd at The Leif Bar. I was a deputy marshal in the parade, so I wasn’t there to do any kind of set up for food, decorations, anything like that. I figured we’d just eat bare bones style. Micheal organized everything for me, was there to accept delivery for the food, allowed me to borrow the Leif’s racks for the sternos and a speaker so that we could hook up an iPod for music. He even put green table cloths on all of the tables! My family had a great time and it was the perfect end to a great day. So, so grateful to The Leif Bar and Michael for your generosity! I will definitely continue recommending the Leif for parties to everyone I know.
