Terrible! I ordered the two piece and there was barely any meat. The mash potato was stale. I read someone comment that this place is one step above KFC — that’s a lie. This isn’t real food. Stay away!

The best way to describe this restaurant is a Latin American KFC. The menu is focused on fried chicken, grilled chicken, and Latin sides. I tried to order the grilled chicken but none was available… so fried chicken it was. It was comparable to what I have eaten at KFC many years ago. It was very greasy and crispy. Tasty but too oily for my liking. As for sides, I tried the baked beans, yuca fries, and plantains. Similar to the chicken, they all tasted good but were overwhelmingly greasy. Pollo Campero is one of the few places I’ve found which had horchata available on the spot. In sum, it was an interesting experience but I feel there are better options for Latin American food on Long Island in this price range.

As far as «fast food» fried chicken is concerned, Pollo Campero is a notch above KFC, Popeye’s etc. The chicken is tender, moist, and very flavorful. The sides are yummy as well. This is obviously not the sort of place you want to eat at every day unless you enjoy explosive diarrhea, or are curious about heart disease, but it is good for that«once in a blue moon cheat day when you want to grab some fried deliciousness.»

Juicy, flavorful, crunchy, latin spices, tasty side dishes. I love this place, aside from the dirty looks that other customers give.

Chicken is good. Usually quite a long wait, usually due to incompetence rather than waiting for fresh food to finish. Some unique side choices. Worth a visit to decide for yourself.

Pretty good. It «IS» fast food though. I’ve had it a few times and its good. The only thing I find is the rice is always under cooked. Other than that, it’s not bad at all.

I had a taste of Pollo Campero at my job, it was catered in by a rep. The chicken sandwich was delicious, I liked their secret sauce. I chose the grilled chicken sandwich for weight management, which did not compromise on the taste. :) Here’s a coupon for Pollo Campero on Long Island: Buy ONE two piece meal, get one FREE!

Pollo Campero is the Latin fast food chain that has taken hold of Brentwood’s hungering masses. They have a cartoon chicken mascot: «Here’s your meal.. .»(see pic). Overall, this is a fried chicken-by-the-piece place, but you can get a flavorful grilled quarter or half a bird platter with tortillas and a side for around $ 6 – 7. Top it off at the salsa bar, featuring chopped jalapenos, pico, chipotle and green salsa. Juicy breasts makes a nice lunch, wash it down with serve-yourself soda, or from behind the counter, fountain-chilled tamarind or horchata, because you know you seek a quenching after a nice salty meal.
