I love this café. They remodeled it and it looks like a little cozy home. There sandwiches and wraps are soon good they always come with chips. The desserts are sometimes blood too always fresh and quick.

I’m going to be unlike myself and start my review with the reason for not giving the full 5 stars. I’m not a regular here. I don’t live in the neighborhood and finding parking for a pickup truck nearby is extremely tricky. With that said, I’ve been passed over the times I’ve walked in in favor of people they know by name. Yes, their orders have been taken before mine even as I stand in front of the register. While it’s nice they appreciate their long time customers, my money is still green! It’s been frustrating to wait for a salad while people grab their sandwiches and leave. Maybe I’m better off calling ahead next time. It would help the parking situation to through the blinkers on in the bus stop for a couple minutes. So while I’ve only walked in a couple times, my company, orders catering from them twice weekly for lunch. Again, their appreciation for their regulars shows. They have been so kind and generous to gift us with three dessert trays as a thank you for the business. That really is top notch. The food is phenomenal, it really is. It’s always fresh and well seasoned. The brownies… to die for! I will literally give myself a stomach ache from eating them, but it is worth it. The petit desserts like coconut cream pies, espresso cannoli… holy crap… heaven. This place does food very very well and for that it’s worth 5 stars. Heck, if I were on the receiving end of their preferential treatment, it would keep that last star. Just some tips: you look at the menu, order at the counter and seat yourself most days. If you find street parking it’s a three hour limit for non permit holders. Bus your own table and please leave it clean for the next person. As many people said before, it’s cash only but there is an ATM inside. Call ahead for pickup orders to avoid the wait. Order coffee! They start with whole beans. :)

Food is great but I’ve been in this business all my life and if you open at 6 you should be able to order food at 6. Walked in and woman said oh you’re early. I said don’t you open at 6. She said yes but the cooks just get here now and stoves aren’t ready for cooking. Why? When my restaurant opened you were able to eat. May want to get the cooks there a little earlier

I ate in one time and everything was fine. The staff was friendly, the food was good, prices were reasonable and the place was clean(and cute). However, I made an order for delivery at 10:30 this morning, the person who took my order told me 40 minutes. I got my food at 1:30 pm. I called to complain and tell them that I didn’t want to pay for a soggy sandwich and cold coffee. They didn’t charge me for the food, so I just tipped the delivery guy. I appreciate good customer service so not charging me for the food was a good idea on their behalf. I guess they were super busy which can only mean that people like them, hence the reason I’m not giving them 1 or 2 stars. At the end of the day I still got a cold sandwich and cold coffee, though, so I can’t give more than 3. Tips for the business: 1. Warn your customers when there will be a longer than usual wait time for delivery. 2. Get more delivery drivers. I would definitely eat there again, but I won’t be ordering breakfast on a sunday. LOL

What’s wrong with you people? Bayonne is my hometown and I know that people are kind of low-key, but I’ve lived in LA for 17 years where we take our Unilocal reviews very seriously so I am posting a more enthusiastic review than what I’ve read. When my parents told me they found a great café that I’d love in Bayonne, I was like, ok, I’m sure it’s fine. Well it’s not fine, it’s REALLY good. It’s small and charming and clean and bright and sunny. The people are nice. The selection of food is very good and if you can’t find something to eat here then you are being ridiculous. And FYI, the food is great. Fresh, lots of organic choices, clearly food that is made right there and then, with care and passion. The portions are big, the prices are fair, the food is delicious. I’ve had a lot of good meals there but I especially loved getting the Thanksgiving wrap in the middle of summer. I never leave without taking a scone for the next day’s breakfast, and my mom is hooked on the big cookies. If you can please the whole Blackstone family, you are doing something right. I was happy to see a lot of take-out orders for lunch last time I was there so I hope business is good. But my family and I sat down and ate together as a family, something too few people do now. We do. Serious kudos to the family behind this place, I was happy to see a link to this video on ABC news. And whenever I’m back in my hometown, count on me being there.

Not sure what happened. Maybe my boyfriend n I were invisible to all the staff but we walked in n stood standing for 5 mins, mind you the place was empty. I finally went n sat myself down to only wait another 10−15mins n no one came to attend us or give us menus. We had to walk out n even then no one tried to stop us. No hello n certainly no good bye to us. To think I came here bcuz of the Unilocal reviews. If you want great service n absolutely great food go to Talya’s café on 49th st Bayonne.

I truly been coming here several times because I live in the area but the staff is rude specially the Eastern European lady. I got sick after I ate here. I guess they are not practicing food safety.

I’m surprised that I had never been to this place after living in Bayonne for nearly 2 years. We came here on a Sunday after mass and as everyone was raving about the hueous rancheros I ordered it. Only after 15 mins of placing the order to find that they ran our of stuff for it. So I’m giving it a start less+ its cash only. But apart from that it was good. Great gourmet food.

I was excited when I first heard about this place. Me and my family took a little trip to try this place out and have a good meal. Well we got here and we weren’t welcomed or given any direction of where to order or sit. We kind of looked at each other and wondered what the hell to do. There’s no waitress or any employee in the sitting area to assist you. You actually have to clean up your own table, and clean off your own plates and put it in a bin in the front of the sitting area with other dirty dishes piled up. The seating is cheap and cramped. The food is expensive for nothing. And there’s really no vegetarian options. What place has gluten-free options but no vegetarian options? I wouldn’t go here if you’re planning on being satisfied. This place seems like a ‘only regulars come’ kinda place. Very unhappy.

It was a bright Saturday morning. With good jazz and oldies playing through the speakers, it felt more like a café in small town Louisiana than across the river from THECITY. The food was good. It is all self service — a great place if you need a quiet start to your day/weekend. I was referred to this place by a couple of coworkers. Seems like this is a local favorite — and I can see why.

I have been here a couple of times for breakfast and have no real complaints. I enjoyed the chocolate pancakes and like the fact they don’t put a lot of chips like most diners do. It’s a very big portion, had to take the rest to go. The staff is very friendly and took good care of you. The prices here are pretty cheap for 2 people you will easily spend less then $ 20 and leave full and satisfied. The one downfall is they don’t except credit so make sure you bring cash.

NOTE: CASHONLY when you go in, as the sign says. The food and atmosphere in this place reminds you you of that comfort breakfast food spot you would go to with your grandma. The hubby and I ordered food to go as the restaurant was empty when we went in. The waiting area has one table and a few stools and an amazing dessert tray to look after. While we waited, the table was taken up by staff that was eating their lunch and the stools were occupied by more staff checking their phone, so we had to stand. That was their one star down, create a better waiting area where customers feel comfortable and not like we are in the middle of the staff hangout room. I’m find with staff eating in the main area, but make it so there are enough chairs so customers waiting can also hang out. The food took about 15 minutes to make for a Turkey Club, Fries and a Cheesburger. Don’t mind the wait as we can see them making all food fresh to order. The food itself, delicious. That turkey, amazing! I highly highly recommend the turkey in anything, it was juicy and flavorful. Recommendation, if you aren’t eating in, order in advance and pick up. Seems to be easier that way.

Great place for Breakfast or Lunch; convenient, quick and competent service. Having to wait for the bus outside of this place in the morning is a double edged sword… I want to stay away but the overwhelming smell of Bacon coming out the front, back and every open vent. The Brunch on the weekend is fantastic. Pancakes are better than the local diner and the Steak and Eggs are top notch every time I order. They also come with the little tiny heart shaped pancakes that are perfect for just having a taste. Burgers are also well worth your time… make sure you get a heaping helping of the aforementioned Bacon to put on top of that juicy creation. Get yourself there, you will not regret it

I have been coming here for the past 2 years and would’ve given them 4 stars in the past. Unfortunately the quality of the food has changed, I’m not sure if they have a new cook or if the regular one has been having some bad days. I came here for breakfast and was disappointed in my food. My husband and I both ordered the egg platter with bacon and sweet potato home fries and sadly the eggs and bacon were overdone and the potatoes were very mushy. It’s sad cause usually when I’ve had breakfast here everything has been tasty and cooked to perfection, except their coffee that’s always been bad. At least my daughter loved her pancakes. Tip for owner: invest in better quality coffee and make sure your cooks are consistent!

There’s something about a place that makes you heart shaped silver dollar pancakes. The weekend brunch is life and if you’ve never had a pear square you aren’t really living.

I loved everything about this place! The décor was creative and rustic. Staff was very tentative, and food was great. For the price, you get a lot of food! I had the huevos ranchos, the dish was delicious! There were so many flavors; however, not the kind of flavors that overpower a dish. It was the kind of flavors that make you say«dam this is good!» I can’t wait to bring my family here for one of our family days! :) Only real downside was that I wish they had more coffee selections ! Coffee is ok, I think they should up their coffee game. A latte or cappuccino would be great to have at a place like this. All and ALL, this place is a must! =)

Came here for a Sunday brunch and was so surprised with how adorable the interior was. I loved their décor and the music in the background created a homey ambiance. Food was fresh. Service was a little bit slow, but hey it’s a café so relax and chat a little! I had the florentine Benedict and my husband had the huevos rancheros. Both were delicious and both came with cute heart shaped pancakes. We definitely want to come back and try some of the other things on their menu! Coffee includes free refills!
