Southern Sweets Ice Cream Parlor

Nothing special. Disappointed in the snickerdoodle ice cream sandwich. Cookies were hard and ice cream was sub par.

Had lunch here today and it was really good. The sandwiches come with a homemade side (choices are: potato salad, cole slaw, some type of black-​eyed pea salad and I can’t remember the other choice). I’m always leary of potato salad in a sandwich shop because I am picky when it comes to
potato salad, but I took a chance and yes it was homemade and delish!
I had the BLT and it was good — 3 slices of bacon, lettuce, tomato and a flavored mayo.
My hubby had pimento cheese on a croissant and he loved it.
The place was extremely busy with three ladies working. They informed those of us who ordered a meal that it would be around 20 minutes. These ladies worked very hard and we’re all smiles the whole time we were there.
We didn’t have room for ice cream, but do plan to get some tomorrow as it looked very yummy!

This is the place to go for ice cream! Open later then alot of places in this shopping area and so happy it was! The woman working was great! Custom ice cream choices, sundaes, shakes etc. Cute little place. Must go!

I lived here for 6 years and loved this shop, now when I visit, I still return, so many yummy flavors to choose from as well as shakes, sundaes, treats for fido, cup or cone, flavor of the month :) great customer service

Not to be missed, a visit to Southern Sweets has been a family tradition for 20 years. Owner even remembers our sons name and his favorite sundae!
However, for my update southern sweets has been sold to another company. Very sad.

Two cones $ 6, black cherry and strawberry just as you remember as a kid. One of the few places open on Sunday!

Wish we had tried the ice cream. Hubby, mom n pop stopped for lunch. Mom and I had BLT’s with red pepper mayo. Hubby and pop had grilled cheese with tomato sandwiches. They looked good but nothing special.
On the up note, the employees were friendly, sweet and helpful.

We come here with our kids every year. Waffle cones are terrific — this year we had chocolate fetish and salted caramel — delish! We had a vanilla milkshake that was great too! Friendly service and cute store. Definitely worth a stop.

Custard is amazing! This is a great place to come if you’ve got a little time to dilly-​dally around all the other sweets and then make a really involved decision about what to eat.
I’d recommend the lemon custard or a shake, which look great.
The perfect summer stop.

My favorite place on Bay Street! The hot dogs are tasty and fun. The ice cream is outstanding and the creations are even better. All done fresh behind the counter. Large portions and fair prices.
