I’ve been to many gyms in the Houston area and most in the golden triangle. The Health & Wellness Center is by far my favorite gym to workout at and I give it 5 stars, hands down. I love the atmosphere from the time you enter the parking lot to the time you leave. The staff is friendly, always greeting you and there’s always towels folded and available for you to use. The size of the locker room is comparable to a typical LA Fitness in Houston — with steam room, sauna and hot tub in each locker room. The showers are always clean, as well as the facility in general. I love everything about this gym. The facility is large, the layout is great and not intimidating at all — unlike some gyms. If you’re wanting to visit this gym and try it out, you can get a week’s pass with a valid ID. They do have an enrollment fee when you sign up, but it’s well worth it! When I was shopping around for gyms in Beaumont, none of the gyms came close to comparison. As a student, this actually was my cheapest choice as well which works out perfect for me!

This gym is not accommodating for children 15 and under. They need to use a boy or girl changing room, instead of the men’s or women’s room, and they are simply one room with lockers and one bathroom. No shower. No separate changing area. I was not allowed to change my 2 year old daughter in the women’s locker room. I was told to change her for the pool in the girl’s room, drop her in the day care, go and change in the women’s room, and in my swim suit go pick her up from day care and head to the pool. And I am supposed to do this again when we are in wet bathing suits. No thanks.

maintenance problems. water heater broke down last week, notes said fixed by Fri. still broken on Sunday. notes still up saying fixed by Fri. another week? took ten days to change clock battery in sauna area. a week to set time to daylight savings. steam room cooling shower does not work. light bulbs take months to be changed. broken locker doors never repaired. dressing room carpet smells too bad to stay inside to dress. needs new carpet. grout needs to be scrubbed in showers and whirlpool area. steam room too. indoor lifeguards never refrain from telling you what time the pool closes, in case you forgot. still front desk and workout area staff are all very friendly and helpful.

I’ve been going to this gym for a few years now and over the last 6 months or so i’ve tested the waters at many of the other local gym’s to see if there may be a better fit for me. I have yet to find a place that offers as much. The gym has plenty of room and i’ve never had any problems getting to equipment and getting a work out in. Indoor and Outdoor facilities for different sports. The Spa area is better than anything i’ve seen in the golden triangle. Sauna, steam room, whirlpool showers clean and large locker room. Worth every penny.

Tried canceling my membership for 4 months due to relocating and kept being charged every month since then. Only thing I can do is just keeping calling and spending time on the phone trying to cancel every month I’ve seen the charge. And every single time I’ve been guaranteed it was officially cancelled. And they refused to repay me back for their mistakes.

Great place to workout. The locker rooms each have their own hot tub & sauna. There is a free weight area and a lot of nice fitness equipment. Group classes are awesome but way too packed. Zumba would be much better with the lights off. It’s easy to get the $ 200 initiation fee waived. Well worth the price either way.

Great classes and great gym. The trainers are willing to help you with anything and thy can do a physical assessment whenever you want. The indoor track is small but is air conditioned so you can’t complain. There is also a swimming pool and lap pool.

This is the best gym in town and I know from experience because I’ve been a member at three of them. Exygon is always way, way too busy and is pretty overwhelming. Beaumont Health and Fitness is terribly dirty and has outdated machines. Wellness is clean, inviting, and has a much more spa-like atmosphere than any other gym in town. The outdoor recreational pool is fun in the summer and the indoor pool is great for a workout. The classes are awesome and spread throughout the day, making it easy for the working folk to join in. Lastly, the Wellness Center now offers massages, waxing and will supposedly offer nail services, soon. Love it.

Hubby and I have been members for over a year now, and we really love this gym! Very well equipped with state of the art machines, free weights, steppers, elipticals, bikes, rowers, etc… I love the indoor lap pool, and attend Zumba classes regularly. The locker room is huge, with private dressing areas and a very large vanity/sink area with blow dryers provided. The showers are clean. And they also have a hot tub, steam room and sauna. In the cool weather, I love the outdoor walking track to get warmed up. In the summer, I use the upstairs, indoor walking track. For $ 80 a month for a couple… I think it’s a great deal!!!

Once your through vomiting from the $ 200 initiation fee, this place offers a great layout for exercising. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, racquetball courts, indoor basketball, classes all day, indoor track, sauna, steam room, fresh towels… the list goes on! I love swimming and the pool is always kept up really well. The vibe is super relaxed and its perfect for those wanting to dial into their own routine without being stared at hard by a bunch of steroid raging typical gym enthusiasts. The staff here is always friendly and they seem to genuinely care if you have any questions about nutrition or exercise. I certainly recommend this gym to anyone who is serious about their health but it’s not worth the price if your not planning on utilizing every aspect. You get what you pay for right? Oh yea and the mini restaurant downstairs is money for after a long workout when your trying to control that Hangry(hungry+angry) attitude your about to rock into HEB and unleash on the pointless purchases that will only further confuse you when you get home. The super friendly lady there made me an egg sandwich the other morning rocked and looked like something my Grandma Agnes would concoct in her cozy kitchen!

I’ve never been a member, but I’ve been coming here all my life. This is a great facility with tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, racquetball courts, spa area, outdoor track, and great gym. You can buy the membership or you can get your friends to use all their guest passes to get you fit and happy.

My husband and I joined the Herbert Health & Wellness Center a couple of months ago, mainly because the gym at our apartment complex is very small and cramped and just wasn’t doing it for us. We were sold on joining because even though it is pricey, we felt it was definitely worth it – they have both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball and squash courts, all variety of weight training and cardio machines, and a ton of free group classes to choose from. We really enjoy going there. My husband has already taken a tennis class and I’ve taken yoga. There are always machines available even when we get there with the after-work rush. The staff there are very friendly and they will help you out or answer your questions about anything. I can’t speak for the men’s locker room, but the women’s locker room seems to be kept up well. It’s a great gym with a lot of different activities to offer. You can always go get a tour to see for yourself — they will give you a day pass so you can try it out for a day before you decide whether or not to sign up.

In its heyday, this was a nice place. They’ve recently purchased some new equipment which is nice. Still, on any given day, about 20% of the machines are tagged out of service. The place is also just not clean. You expect cleanliness at a minimum. The showers in the men’s locker room are sprouting black mold and the ceiling vents are so clogged with who-knows-what that no air actually circulates. Add to that the pricing and their efforts to get every last dime of your money and you have to wonder what kind of nuns are really in charge here.
