Came with my wife. Saw one Mexican and he was taking out the trash. That place it whiter than Donald trump.

Do yourself a favor and go to taco bell instead. Are you a fan of taco seasoning? Then this restaurant may be for you.

I was not impressed I ordered 3 taco two beef and one chicken. waited about 20 minutes for the worst tacos I have ever had. Each one had a clump of meat on bottom in one spot center with lettuce and tomato period. It was not worth it at all taco bell would of been better.

If I could give it no stars, I would. The chips are store bought similar if not exactly like mission brand. The salsa has no flavor other than sweet. I mean no cilantro, no salt, no hints of onion or garlic… NOTHING. The food itself is a huge disappointment. I thought it was hard to make a flavorless enchilada… But these guys perfected it. Don’t waste your time in this dirty dump who’s waiting room smells like unwashed people…

We have been going to Lupe’s for years! The waitress have seen us grow up right before their eyes. You either LOVE Lupe’s or you HATE it. We LOVEIT! This is why we keep going back. So what they microwave the cheese… Don’t like it go some where else. The food taste great in the end. The salsa is not super spicy but has excellent flavor. The Margaritas are amazing. The service at Lupe’s Is AMAZING. The 3 women that server there are by far the best. They smile, laugh and are quick. This is 100% a great local restaurant.

The food was ok. The service is very poor, unless you are a «regular». Seems they were the only ones who were greeted with a smile and nice attitude. Waitress did not check to see how anything was, not if we would like our check our anything else. Just plopped ticket on the table and that was it. Too bad we were going to try a desert.

The xango is alright here. It’s almost like Applebee’s chimicheesecake, but not as sweet. It’d be nice if they served it with ice cream instead of whipped cream. I also tried the chipotle shrimp plate and tijuana torpedo burrito. I was expecting better quality prawns. The steak in the burrito tasted slow-cooked. I don’t see myself coming back here. There are plenty of taco trucks in the area with better quality food.

From the outside, it may not look like much. But the food is Delish! The waitress greeted me promptly and was very friendly. She brought with her some chips and salsa. The salsa was probably the only reason I did not give 5 stars. This place really deserves 4.5 stars. The salsa was rather bland. Basically, it tasted like tomatoes with a little black pepper(very little) thrown in. I had to add some salt and tobacco just to give it some flavor. The chips were wonderful. I ordered the chicken enchiladas(red) with a little green sauce in the side, just to try. The green sauce was not to my liking, but some might enjoy it. The red was perfect… Not too spicy and just the right amount of flavor. All the food arrived promptly. There was a good amount and if I wasn’t a typical overweight American, I probably would have taken some home.

Went here tonight for the first time. Chips were cold and salsa didn’t have a lot of flavor. Service wasn’t that great. I got a lime margarita– also was just OK. Food came out really fast. Wouldn’t go back– didn’t think it was worth the money for mediocre food.

We used to go to Lupes about 7 years ago because we are neighbors with them. We quit going because everything is prepped early, frozen and then microwaved right in front of your eyes. Today, we went in and they had three total tables and it took us 10 minutes to get waited on. Once we got waited on, the gal was pretty cool. Chips are Winco like and not heated. Salsa was real and held in large picture and had a nice kik to it. I see they still use their microwave as their go to oven. Kindof dissapointed that Lupes owners don’t have a clue from all the negative reviews hating on the microwave cooking.

I have eaten at Lupe’s a couple of times now. I’ve lived near it in the past, but never was interested in trying this place out. Well now that I have become vegan, I have a hard time finding Mexican food places on the west side that offer vegan Mexican fare. I read on a social media about this place. They offer vegan rice and beans, and they can make certain things vegan. First time, I ordered a spinach enchilada, and it was really good. They don’t have vegan cheese, so it isn’t as good as what I can make myself at home, but I appreciate that they have options that I can order!

Our new fave Mexican place! Overall, the place is small and dive/mom&pop-ish, but all in a good way. The service is always quite excellent(we’ve ever only sat across from the bar/kitchen). The salsa is perfect for us: not too hot and no discernible cilantro. Who cares where the chips come from? They are fresh and crispy. You want house-made chips, go to a chain somewhere. Here, the small business rules! As mentioned before, the guac is the best we’ve ever had. The food is delicious, fresh, and inexpensive. We’ve had much of the menu already. Who cares if they use a microwave to heat the cheese, etc. It’s still darn good. You want 100% authentic? Go to Mexico. The drinks/margaritas are some of the best in the area. This is our local fave now. :) I would recommend this place to all but the snootiest of my friends.

I love Mexican Food, but this was not my favorite. I ordered the Chile Rellano and it was very mushy and greasy. My friend ordered the Flautas and they were very bland. On the plus side, great service. Not good food.

My new friends took me here today for lunch! The food is delicious!!! The strawberry margarita was super duper delicious!!! I got carnitas plate! For $ 12 is not bad! Cheap! Beans and rice were delicious! The meat was super tender and my friends couldn’t stop eating!!! I will be back! The waiter was soooo nice!!!

Stopped in about a week ago hoping for a great Mexican food lunch. It smelled great when we walked so we were hopeful. The menu stated Chili Relleno’s were one of the their specialties which was great because it’s one of my favorites. What I received was a round steaming mound of egg that had clearly just came out of a bowl and cooked in a microwave, the chili itself was not cooked and the cheese stuffing not melted. I also ordered a chicken enchilada which was clearly a sliced unseasoned chicken breast rolled in a tortilla loaded with cheese and cooked in a microwave. FYI– they do not serve carne asada. One positive, the rice and beans were good. Unfortunately it’s just not close to authentic.

Greasy. Obviously through a microwave. 5 lbs of cheese per burrito. tasteless rice and beans. Awful margharita. Didn’t have the heart to say it so paid and left without finishing anything. Bad.

Don’t eat here. Seriously. I had worked up quite an appetite and was really excited to eat here because I love to go to Mexican restaurants all hungry and chow on some really good chips and salsa before dinner. We sat out back in the«patio» which was really a glorified parking space with some tables strewn about. Our table was dirty when we sat down, no biggie. But when someone came and«washed it off» all they did was proceed to smear the cheese onto the already sticky plastic checkered table cloth. While we were waiting I put my phone down on the table and checked out this bucket of stuff they had on top of the table. In that bucket was one of those little restaurant laminated booklets that has ads and jokes in it. I shit you not, I could not easily turn the pages because they stuck together. Gross. I put it down and tried to pick up my phone again — stuck to the table! Then, our waitress came over and started to ask me what I wanted to order. Just as I had begun talking, she turned around to the server who was cleaning the table behind us and barked at him to take the beer bottle and to make sure the towel wasn’t as wet next time. The she turned back around to me like nothing had happened. It was jarring, to say the least. Ok, I can get over all that piddly stuff. However, what I CANNOT get over is the chips. They were actually just Costco chips I am sure. Definitely not made there. Also, the salsa tasted like someone had taken a can of tomato paste and watered it down, threw it in a little bowl and called it good. So, needless to say, I didn’t chow down on those bad boys. Flash forward to our meal. I ordered a salad with chicken. My boyfriend ordered taquitos. My salad was absolutely covered with criss-crossed sour cream, and these shavings of something black that I think was pieces of olives that looked like they had been grated into dark, satanic pieces of sand. My chicken was dark thigh meat that looked like it had been pulled right off some sad, flavorless chicken thing. Clumps of it all in my iceberg lettuce. No flavor. Nothing. My boyfriend’s taquitos were also absolutely flavorless fried missiles of regret, tubes of trouble tomorrow morning. I feel dirty. I feel violated. I need to shower.

One word: BLAND! The chips look and taste store bought, the salsa was somewhat spicy, but ground down to a pulp, the shredded chicken in my Chimichanga was tasteless, with no visible spices, peppers in it. Think Costco rotisserie chicken right off the bone. At least Costco chicken has great tasting skin on it! The deep-fried dough covering it was raw flour doughy. Then there was the tasteless rice, and bland canned beans. OMG! Where is the spice? Terrible. Me a gringo, makes tastier Mexican food at home. Isn’t this supposed to be a Mexican restaurant? The décor perhaps. I won’t be back, and I will warn my friends. One star is one too many. Lupes escaped from Blandtown and set up shop in Aloha!

Wow, I REALLY want to like this place. I have some friends that are once-a-week regulars here. I’ve eaten at Lupe’s probably 4 – 5 times now(usually with said friends) but this time, it was Wife N and I swinging through for dinner. Other reviews have said it, and I have to concur: The chips and salsa are about the worst I’ve had at any small one-off Mexican restaurant. You know when you go into a Mexican restaurant, and they plunk down that basket of steamin’-hot light and crispy tortilla chips that are so fresh you have to reach for the salt-shaker and they’re just so great you have to keep ordering more baskets? Yeah, you won’t get those here. The chips taste as if they are straight from some bulk bag – and not even the really good bulk bag, just the cheap one. The salsa is just red and… well that’s about it. It’s bland, not spicy, not oniony, not pepper-y, just — tomato-y, somewhat like salsa-style ketchup-ish substance. Honestly, pretty disappointing. The meal was better. I had the«sonora the king of enchiladas” – a double-sized monster mess of pretty good stuff: meat, cheese, olives, onions, and topped with red sauce and a fried egg. I will say the gooey egg yolk went really nicely with the rest of the meal. Wife had some kind of pork dish, we can’t remember what. The pork was flavorful and cooked decently. The tortillas didn’t taste fresh-made – more like store-bought and heated up to order. In all, the place is okay. If friends invited me to meet them there again, I would. But this is Aloha, and if you drew a three-mile radius around 185th and TV Highway, you’ll find fifteen other better Mexican restaurants to eat at.

3.5 stars. We’ve joked about going to Lupe’s for years, for no particular reason. Finally, over the weekend, we stopped by. I didn’t even look for the infamous microwaves. We walked right past the bar and quite visible kitchen to the dining room. You know, the place is clean, bright, colorful and comfortable! Lots of bright red colors and sombreros(really generic decoration, but who’s counting…) seem to be the theme. Service was prompt and friendly. I was impressed with their tap selection, particularly with Pacifico on tap. Can’t recall having seen that before. Chips & salsa were not good. Well, okay, the salsa was fine, if basic, but the chips were as bad as generic store bought tortilla chips. Enough about those. Lupe’s does a good job of highlighting vegetarian if not full vegan options, which makes the Mrs. happy every time. She had a vegan burrito which she really enjoyed. I appreciate that our server suggested getting both red and green sauces with it. I had the flautas. They were okay. I can tell you they were far and away the biggest flautas I’d ever seen. They’re more along the lines of small chimichangas. The chicken, while well cooked, was kinda plain. The pork was very good. We’ll be back! I am looking forward to trying basic items like enchiladas next time. I am also looking forward to writing a review update with another star or two.
