Like the rec center but not the swim lessons. Signed up our boys for swim lessons and it was even questionable to the staff if they were signing up for the correct level. They signed up for level 3 and they thought possibly it would be too hard for them. Not sure if they purposely make it so you don’t pass so you have to sign up again but the lessons were worthless. I have been apart of a swim team so I know how to swim. I taught them up to this point and honestly I can say they got worse. The point of passing level 3 is to side breathe, front crawl and backstroke. Although they did teach a little of that they did a lot of other meaningless things like having them dolphin kick and go down a slide. I wouldn’t complain so much if they spend more time with the boys but they only had 4 minutes for each 30 minutes of instruction. First I thought it was me thinking that so I timed one of my boys on the last day of actual instruction and it was less than 4 minutes. And while they are waiting for the others kids they have to just stand there, they don’t even practice what they learn. I didn’t feel paying for lessons was worth 4 minutes of instruction especially when the instructions didn’t always have to do with passing the level. Also in order to pass the swim level they have to do it without goggles. Well they teach them lessons the whole time with goggles then for the test they ask them to take off their goggles. Since my boys were not use to it they actually were worse without goggles. Why would you do that? Should be consistent. And with such little time to spend with each kid why do you do tasks that do not apply to the point of the level you want them to pass? That’s fine if you want to splash and have fun with them but not on the 4 minutes of time they only have with the instructor. Very disappointed and would never go back. You are better off watching a utube video with your kids and applying what the instructor teaches. That is what we did one time and within a half hour my boys were practically swimming. Waste of my time, their time and money.

Visiting Oregon and stopped by the aquatic center to let our two boys (Ages 7 & 9) have a swim. «Drop-​in» prices for us out-​of-​towners was $ 7 per child and $ 9 per adult for 2 hours worth of swimming. The boys kept getting pulled aside and told about things they shouldn’t be doing. (Wearing goggles, sitting or jumping on matts, lifting matts out of water and touching swimming line markers) More rules than the YMCA back East.
Besides the sticker price, short swim time and excessive swimming rules, the employees were very friendly. The life guards swapped stations frequently which kept them attuned to watching the swimmers. The facility was very clean and pleasant.
If you don’t have time to make it to the beach but need to get the kids a splash of water, this is a nice visit if you can tolerate the price and rules.

Love the place for all the facilities it offers. My only gripe is the huge demand on it still makes it insufficient for all. For my son’s swimming class we essentially sat online at night ready to click submit.
But having said that — I guess it’s a testament to the facilities and it’s quality too!

I haven’t gone inside any of the facilities yet but the whole place itself is nicely kept and well-​maintained. It’s cool to see all the various activities that people are up to here. From jogging along the trails or trying tricks at the skatepark or playing soccer with friends, this place has it all. There is even an indoor track for those that want to avoid mother nature.
There is parking available and there are classes offered here including swim lessons. One of thee days, I’ll have to check out the tennis courts.

This is easily the nicest public tennis center I have been to. The entire recreation center looks fantastic! The indoor courts are well lit and spacious, the air ventilation system is top-​notch. The viewing area is in between the courts, so you have a great view of everything. Although the lounge is basic, it’s always clean, and like the viewing area in the middle of the center, so you have a great view of play.
The indoor swimming pool looks nice. And I like the outdoor courts more than the ones at West Hills and Mountain Park. I heard Nike put money into this and it would explain a lot. If we’re comparing just based off tennis facilities, this public center is much nicer than almost all the private tennis clubs I’ve seen.

I was here to take a 4 year old to a hip hop dance class. The class was down on one of the basketball courts, which was a little strange, but it worked. I sat on some bleachers which had back support in the very last row, which is nice when you are sitting for a long time. We also snuck onto an empty court and shot some hoops. They had the hoop lowered for little tikes, which made it really fun.
The recreation and class offerings are what makes this place great.
They had a great indoor track upstairs overlooking the courts and I think that would be really great for those that want to get some exercise when the weather is not so nice (especially older folks).

Great place to swim. Clean facility. Warm showers. Plenty of lanes.

They have the best facilities of all the Rec districts. Almost everything is well taken care of but please be mindful of your belongings. We have phones stolen while playing at the Athletic Center once.
It is awesome if you’re in-​district as you can avail of the amenities easy. It costs around a lung and liver if you’re not.

Huge sports complex in Beaverton. Went here for a soccer match for one of the kids. It’s a really nice facility. I almost needed a map to find where I was going though, but there are some signage that helps. If I was in district and closer, I think I’d be using this place a lot.

This park is pretty incredible if you don’t mind the swarms of baseball dudes/​fields. There’s two big play structures that are covered to protect from the rain (because obviously it rains all the time here? P. s. where’s summer??) so if your baby monsters are freaking out and you’re not down to get your butt wet on slides, this place has you covered. Also, I guess if you’re into baseball and want to join some team you may be able to sort that out here?

This is much more than the typical «rec center». Wonderful facility for adult baseball leagues!

One of the best athletic facilities around. A lot of space, it is clean, and they have a friendly staff. There aren’t many huge indoor swimming pools around, but this recreation center has a 50 meter pool which is great for kids, friends, and family. It’s a great place especially during the summer, when you can have a picnic and just lay on the grass. I read somewhere that camping is prohibited, which cracks me. It gets crowded when there are tournaments and the pool is frequently populated during the summer days. Been going to the pool and the athletic center for a long time, no real complaints.

Lovely rec center. I just started playing softball here and I must say the fields are well maintained and very nice to play on.

Nice pool.
No family changing rooms.
There is plenty of parking onsite.
We have enjoyed a few outdoor events there from time to time in the summer.

This place seems to have it all, but if you are particularly big on the sport of TENNIS, then this place is the bees nees for tennis in Portland!
They have 4 indoor courts, 8 outdoor courts, and one show court. Since it rains most of the year in Oregon, they have these big inflatable covers (THE BUBBLE) that they blow up over the outdoor courts so that they are still usable. If you’re new to Oregon and are here for a pretty big, well-​known tournament (State, Nike Tourns, etc), it will most likely be held at this facility. Always try to get here early if you want to find parking. If you are running late and forgot to grab socks, food, drinks, WHATEVER (well, if you forgot your racquet then you’re just screwed), then you can just jog across the street to Freddies and go replenish on whatever supplies you are low on.
Great facility, and always fun to play inside the BUBBLE!!!

BIG… there is a indoor swimming pool, basketball courts inside and out, large soccer fields, skate park etc.
You can walk your dog here and bike here.
Sometimes can’t find a parking spot on busy Saturdays due to soccer games and basketball games.
There is an event once a year where your kids can go rock climbing and play games and sports for free.

This is the nicest rec center i’ve ever been to. They have plenty of soccer fields, swimming, indoor and outdoor courts for basketball. They also have badminton and table tennis. They also have an indoor track onthe second floor circling the gym.
The real deal is if you’re in the Beaverton District and you get the discounted rate. the only other thing that sucks is that when there is a tournament, the parking lot fills up.
