Microtel Inn Beckley

On the way home from vacation, we spent the night here. Upon entering the room, I immediately inspected everything for signs of bed bugs, I found none. What I did find was absolute filth just about everywhere I looked. This place is disgusting. The mattress had so many stains I couldn’t believe it. I’ve literally seen mattresses in the garbage that were cleaner. There was pieces of food… raisins, nuts, cereal, etc… all along the edges of both beds. Now I understand that housekeeping for the most part has their hands full, but to just plain not care is unacceptable. One last thing, the bed was so uncomfortable, I wondered if I’d ever be able to stand upright again. I was unable to find a single redeeming quality about this dump, except or the low cost. You get what you pay for, at least here. To close I’ll say this, I may very well need a penicillin shot after staying here. Unless you are desperate and/​or broke I would avoid this place at all cost. What were we thinking? Yuck!!!
Update: Upon checking out and politely complaining, they did give us $ 20 off of our bill. Taking it from $ 76 to $ 56 for the night. So???

BED BUGS and a lot of them. This place is not clean. Front desk did not seem very concerned until I called the County Health Dept in front of them. AVOID

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! ! Let me state that this hotel doesn’t even deserve a star. Some of the customer service received was positive and the other negative. We had freakin’ bed bugs and to add to the list a burn hole on the sheets, the mattress was nasty with different urine stains on it, the springs in the bed were worn out, Microwave was broke and non-​smoking rooms smelled like smoke. The breakfast was assorted packaged foods and the options of Coffee, Milk, juice or apple juice. If I’m paying $ 80+taxes a night, breakfast should be better than that. I can purchase those items at the store and warm them up.
Once the front clerk was notified about the bed bugs in the room. She acted as though she wasn’t able to do anything about it and caught a attitude. Also made the comment «You all could have brought them, I don’t know «. Also, told us we were not welcome there anymore! Out of 7 rooms booked at this nasty hotel, there was bed bugs in 2 of them. It was bed bugs on the bed and towels, wth! My cousins received several bed bug bites and the only bullsh*t she could say is that their manager was getting on a flight and wouldn’t be back until Monday/​Tuesday. To me that is a slap in the face after we patronize this place and we’ve been disrespected, bitten, was threaten for the police to be called and received bad customer service.
Coming from out of town from various different states to attend a love one’s funeral, the experience at this location was tremendously horrible! As a wyndham reward customer, I will never patronize this location ever again!!!

The photos speak for them selves. What a dump! The Wi-​if doesn’t work half the time… it’s dirty and if it wasn’t so late at night I would have looked for another place.

The location was good, just off the highway and easy to find. But for the money, we were disappointed with the continental breakfast which was an assortment of packaged oatmeal and grits, some rotting oranges and a small selection of bagels and mini muffins. Also, there was a burn hole in the sheets.

I had a reservation and looked at two different rooms, both were shabby and dirty-​looking. However, the clerk was kind and understanding. Who knows — maybe I caught them on a bad day?
I called KAYAK an they had me booked into a different hotel in under 10 minutes.
It was a very disappointing experience regarding this Microtel and another great experience with KAYAK.

A generally smattering of filth throughout the rooms and hallways and a staff that clearly wishes they weren’t here are the main features of this Hotel. Spend your money elsewhere. There are better options in this area.

My retirement age parents recently had a less than pleasing experience here. After driving many hours they pulled in later at night ready for some much needed rest.
The sour reception from the monosyllabic front desk worker slowly began to wear down their sense of comfort in staying here. The final bit of slime atop the pond was the attendant telling my 75 year old father to «watch his mouth» after a completely non offensive joking statement about a wet coupon.
If the rudeness isn’t enough the fundamentalist bible quotes on the wall and overall survivalist bunker feel to place is enough to turn one off.
Be wary.
