ModernMD Urgent Care

I went to this location twice in the last month, my immune system sucks durning the winter. As I said I went twice which means the first time was great! And the second time didn’t let me down one bit! As soon as u walk in the staff is wonderful and welcoming from desk was Jamal. they seem to really care. I waited no more then 10 mins before going right inside. the MA then took my vitals his name was Kevin very pleasant young man, then dr McClendon came in, and to be honest he was one of the best doctors I have ever seen by far he explains everything thoroughly and gives the medication needed. If I could have him as my primary care I so would. I recommend modern md to anyone who needs to be seen quick and wants good medical care. And the great part is they have different locations! check it out you won’t be let down from patient care to door to door u won’t be disappointed !

Injured my finger while cooking, and called a couple of places until I found this one, which accepted my insurance. The wait was minimal, the receptionist was friendly, and the doctor was kind and knowledgeable. I went there for several follow-​up appointments, and had the same experience each time. Glad to have a place like this in my neighborhood. Would definitely recommend!

I have a lot of mixed-​reviews for this location in particular. To begin lets just say ModernMD is urgent care not good care.
My first time visiting this location I waited an hour to see a doctor first thing in the morning, only to find out the doctor was not there. After the receptionist made several calls, she came back to let me know the doctor would not arrive until early afternoon. I returned at 1pm (I live very close by) to find out no doctor would be in that day :/​
At that point I was very confused as to why they were even open smh, like seriously.
I was then refereed to the other ModernMD located in Bushwick. That was another terrible experience (stay tuned for that review which can be found on the Bushwick ModernMd page).
I eventually had to come back to this Fulton street location, due to convenience and an unresolved issue from my last urgent care visit at the Bushwick location. The doctor seemed very knowledgeable. However he prescribed me about 6 different medications for what turned out to be simple sinus infection.
I would not recommend this urgent care to anyone however, the staff was really nice.
Sidenote: I just moved to NYC and did not have a primary care at the time which is why I resolved to going to an Urgent care.

Went there during a lunch break and it was a pleasant experience. Staff was cordial and the place was super duper clean. I was seen quickly as well. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars was because the doctor did not tell me what i had. She examined me and then gave me a prescription. And also they didn’t fax the prescription to the pharmacy when they said they would. I had to call several times to get them to send my prescription. But I will still definetly visit again.

I went there on 2÷14÷16. Everyone (staff) was polite and professional. Dr. Daryl McClendon was very professional. He explained everything to me in terms that I could understand. The office was very clean. This is much needed in our neighborhood. Thank you very much.

Came here after an eye injury. Was quick and thorough. Left with all the info and scrips I needed. So glad this is in the neighborhood!

Woke up on a Saturday morning, feeling something coming on and decided to drag my self to the Urgent Care. I decided to call first, and the receptionist seemed uninterested in helping me over the phone, and quickly explained they accepted «all insurance». I braced myself for a whole day of waiting. However, when I arrived there were only 2 people in the lobby ahead of me. The space was extremely clean and comfortable, with a space for children as well. The same lackadaisical receptionist was actually very helpful when a problem came up with my insurance. He was patient enough to call several times, in order to solve the problem. After about 30 minutes (most of which was my fault trying to resolve my insurance issue) I was being taken back to a room! 30 minutes!
The nurse who checked me in was friendly, and asked me the general in-​take questions. I was admittedly thrown off when he was writing on a piece of paper with sharpie boxes and not a form, but hey! Who cares! I was about to see the doctor in less time than it takes to do a store run!
Dr. McClendon was very thorough, nice, and helpful. He diagnosed me with early bronchitis, prescribed the appropriate z pack, and sent me on my way to my pharmacy.
The easiest urgent care experience I have ever had. And, ironically, I sent my husband there 3 days later when he wasn’t feeling well. He received the same quality care.

Had to take my baby girl in there one day after school after she complained of pains two days in a row. I’m thankful for places like this because it works well for working folks who can’t sit in an emergency room all night then head to work again the next morning. They have imaging which is a super plus. They were clean, professional and accurate in their diagnosis. I work for a major medical center/​hospital myself so I judge these places harshly. Modern md has my recommendation.

When I couldn’t get an appointment with my doctor fast enough, ModernMD saved me. They fit me in right under the wire one night. The front desk and nursing staff were exceptionally graceful and kind. Even more so than my regular doctor’s office. The doctor was extremely professional and made an extra effort to make a referral when he knew I had to see a specialist. He even followed up personally by phone a couple days later to make sure everything was ok! Reasonable pricing for those without insurance as well as I have been in the past. Thank goodness there’s a place like this in Bed Stuy.

Couldn’t have gone to a better place. Inexpensive, highly professional and very friendly. I waited less than fifteen minutes before the doctor could see me. Doctor McLendon made me feel at ease instantly and could diagnose my situation in ten minutes that I thoroughly enjoyed. I will go again for sure.

Walked in w severe tooth pain… walked out w the help and info I needed. Dr. had good bed side manor, and staff was thorough and nice. Would def recommend.

Clean, prompt and effective. I felt like the doctor listened to what I had to say and took it into consideration. Not always the case with urgent care where they just want you in and out and hand out a prescription without really thinking about it. Highly recommend.

Went to Modern MD for the first time on Christmas Eve because of severe back pain. Everyone from the receptionist to the technician to the doctor were excellent – friendly, empathetic and kind. They followed up several times to make sure I was ok. I would highly recommend this office to anyone in need of urgent, not emergency care!
