The sign says «Best sandwiches in the city.» Just don’t expect to get the one you ordered. The apathetic staff will refuse your request for the toppings you want on the premise that they «don’t have that» even though the sharp cheddar is in plain view beneath the counter. When you point out their mistake? They’ll make it better «next time.» Avoid.

I had walked by this deli numerous times and been intrigued by the sign stating that they had the best sandwiches in the city. Places with this kind of sign never have food that lives up to their own hype, they give you too high of an expectation, and I wanted to see how the sandwiches here measured up.
On my first trip, I was inebriated, and though we (Jarrett S. and I) clearly asked for cheddar, they gave American. I wasn’t too mad though, as it was 2am. We made a return trip the following morning. We ordered our sandwiches with cheddar, as did the guy in front of us. The sandwich making dude stated that they didn’t have it, even though it was in the case. He apathetically rooted around for the cheddar, gave up after 2 seconds of looking, continued to state that they didn’t have it, and made the sandwiches with American. We walked out. The guy clearly didn’t give a shit. With much better delis within the area… avoid.

Simply the worst. Don’t expect to be able to find anything you need in here, but do be prepared for apathetic, otherwise engaged employees and aggressive panhandlers.
