This charming gem is a perfect way for the hungry traveller to start the day. The atmosphere is inviting and homey. The food is outstanding, the pancakes in particular. And the jars of homemade cookies are irresistible.

Stopped in for a bit of a late lunch today. The waitress stopped by 3 or 4 times to check if we were ready to order after she brought us our drinks. We ordered an appetizer item and a bowl of soup…2 items that should have been quickly prepped and served. We waited and waited and waited for our food. The waitress walked through the dining area several times but never stopped to explain the wait. At this time there was one other occupied table in the dining area with 2 people sitting at it. So our wait couldn’t have been because they were busy. After at least a 30+ wait, we left money on the table for our drinks and left. I doubt that we’ll ever return. Bedford has too many other good alternatives.

Food was good and the atmosphere very quaint/nice — exactly what you’d expect for downtown Bedford. We were quite shocked at the $ 1.00 up charge for lemons for our water. If you’re going to charge $ 1 for two tiny lemon pieces you should state that in advance.

You have to stop in for a box of cookies! Delicate, buttery and full of flavor. The lemon cookies didn’t even make it to the car. Yum!

I don’t know why this café is rated only three stars. I think it’s a solid four star café. It seems to have everything you could want in a little café and bakery of that caliber. I read the reviews and am not sure if they hired a new server or what, but our server was ridiculously attentive. Maybe even overly attentive. He was very sweet and seemed to be good at his job. He even filled my water before it was entirely out, which in my opinion, is awesome. The food was also brought to our table very quickly and tasted good. The only thing that I agree with in the other reviews was that the soup was somewhat sweet, and I’m not sure if I disliked it(but it was different and unexpected.) The best part of the shop includes the multiple delicious and unique baked goods. I bought six different cookies and an éclair. They were are modestly priced and worth the price. If you’re walking by and feel like checking the place out, I recommend at least stoping by to purchase a few treats.

I ate lunch here just a few days before Thanksgiving and it was delightful! I had the Crabcake salad and the Crabcake was so moist and flavorful it didn’t need any dressing. The staff was sweet and the ambience of shoppers coming in for holiday pies made for a homey setting. You can’t leave without grabbing a box and choosing a few to-go cookies.

Definitely try their deviled eggs and their desserts! Their special was also really great, when we came for lunch on Monday, the it included an entrée, soup, chips, and dessert for $ 11.

Very nice place. Service was excellent. Food good, but for a breakfast place they need to up their game a little on portion size. Also, breakfast potatoes need some work… worst thing on my plate. omelette — A Potatoes — C Multigrain Toast — C(good, but too small) Bacon — C(two pieces, not enough) Will go back.

We stopped in for lunch while wandering around. The service was so terrible, that it eclipses everything else. The deviled eggs were amazing, but because the service is so awful, we won’t return. Such a shame.

It’s true that the speed of service could be improved, but the fantastic food and baked goods more than make up for it.

This place is adorable. Interesting, fun menu. BUT the service was incredibly slow: took 10 – 15 minutes for anyone to come to the table; then took 10 – 15 minutes after we got our drinks for someone to return to take our order; and took over 40 minutes to get two sandwiches and one burger after we ordered. The upside is the food is GREAT! So fresh, so delicious. Carved meats in sandwiches(not deli lunch meat), fresh vegetables, good bread, delicious cole slaw, and the baked goods are excellent. My husband(a sandwich lover) thought his sandwich was one of the best he has had in years. We would go back and would just be ready for a wait

Amazing food here. I am a Bedford native who returned home for a staycation. I not only had an awesome lunch but I returned the next day for an even better breakfast. I am not sure as to why there are poor reviews on here however I have to disagree with everyone that gave the place a poor rating. The Tomato soup was the best I have literally ever had. Give it a shot!

Stopped for a snack. They advertise local ingredients, but that doesn’t mean much if they aren’t prepared well. The food I had was a little sweet, which seems to be prevalent in PA. I don’t recommend the coffee, it’s very bitter and overly strong, which accentuates the bitterness. Butternut squash soup was good, but overly sweet, and the sliced beef sandwich was tough. All in all, it could be a lot better with a little more attention to detail in the food prep department.

Very very slow service, more than 35 minutes in a nearly empty house. Tiny tuna sandwich, birds nest apatiser is just undercooked hash browns with some blue food coloring.

Service failure the food might’ve been good can’t judge waited 35 minutes to get border ended up having to put it in to go container. On top of that failure the order was incomplete ended up leaving without the total order. It was not due to a lack of waitstaff it is a kitchen failure. There wasn’t a large group and I can see why most of the groups were getting restless we were the second table.

Stopped here on a locals suggestion. Good idea. Charming décor and good service. Nice menu with lots of options. I enjoyed a delicious chicken salad sandwich on multigrain bread. A nice vinegar slaw is served on the side with chips. You could tell everything was freshly made.

I was in Bedford for a girls’ weekend and had lunch here. I had soup, salad and dessert — all of which was very fresh and delicious. Great spot!

This café was the perfect stop for lunch. We had the egg salad and chicken salad both were delicious. Dessert followed with a warm cinnamon roll and chocolate pecan pie. Get off the turnpike and stop there.

Glad we stopped here. We got lost and were hungry and Bedford was a very cute town. My boyfriends burger was great, my soup was watered down and disappointing. Nice, personal touches throughout the place and the baked goods looked delicious. If I lived close, or if you’re ever on i-70 in PA, it’s worth a small detour.
