VISITED: 13Feb2016 SEARCHED: Best pizza. We were looking for a new pizza place for our two boys and found Flatbread. ORDERED: Large chicken with pineapple pizza, large half pepperoni half Mopsy’s Kaula Pork Pie pizza, and a spiked hot chocolate SERVICE: the staff was very friendly and provided high quality service. Yule, our server, was extremely helpful and patient. With two young children ordering is sometimes challenging but Yule was awesome. The manager, Naviante,(I know I spelled her name wrong sorry) was also very attentive and friendly. Thank you staff! QUALITY: My boys loved their chicken pineapple pizza. My youngest is very selective of the type of pizza he eats and we were very happy to see him devour his slices. My wife enjoyed the pizza but wasn’t a fan of the pepperoni. She asked the waitress about the flavor and it was due to it being organic. I thought it tasted a bit like spicy sausage link. I enjoyed my Mopsy’s Kaula Pork but thought the BBQ base was a bit overwhelming. All of us loved the crust! The spiked hot chocolate was really spiked which I liked but it contained a bit much of the chocolate. Towards the end of the drink the chocolate was really concentrated at the bottom. RECOMMEND: Absolutely. Note: they cook the pizzas in a Adobe-like oven. They have a little bench near one of the ovens where you can see the fire and the pizzas being cooked. The boys loved it. Also, the cut the pizza in rectangles and not traditional pizza slices.

I love this place for a family dinner out. The pizza is so good, so fresh and delicious. On Wednesday they have live music that starts at 6:30 and the children can color menu covers while you wait. There is also a half moon fire that has a bench so anyone can go sit and watch. Great craft beer and a buzzing atmosphere. GO with the fam for sure!

Stopped here randomly for lunch. The flat bread pizza was very good and the salad was excellent, I had a cup of hot tea but pricey lunch for one person. Wish they had a salad and personal pizza special at lunch time. There was only one size pizza to order .The total price was $ 24.81* not including tip. I would only go back if I had someone to share the pizza. I would of given it a 5 star for the food but knocked off a star because of the price.

I love this place ! We ate at this chain on Maui island in island and then when I heard it was here in boston I jumped at the chance and had to try it out again. We had the veggie special for the week and it was superb. Light, crispy and delicious.

Great food, great atmosphere, great service and amazing beers on tap. Not that I care, but most stuff here is organic and fresh. Being a NY/NJ pizza snob, I gotta give them props. All food is wood fired here. I had half regular and half fajita pizza. Great crust, great flavors. Awesome! As far as the beer is concerned, they have on tap one of the rarest and highest ratedmbeersnin the world: Maine Lunch. Great great place.

I ended up here randomly, and boy am I glad that I did. I know I’ve said in previous reviews that other places have had the best gluten free pizza, ever, but pizza is my thing(from New York), and I can now confirm that the best gluten free pizza in Massachusetts or NYC is at Flatbread. They can make any of the pizzas gluten free. The single con is that there isn’t a separate oven, but… unlike any of the other local pizzerias, this place takes amazing precautions to ensure as little cross contamination as possible. «We are surrounding by flour here,» the manager told me, as he encouraged me to try his gluten free crust. «We store the gluten free crusts in a separate freezer and then cook them covered and separate from the other pizzas,» he continued. I looked at him skeptically and he added the magic words I think I needed, «My younger sister was diagnosed with celiac disease 12 years ago and has been eating the pizzas here just as long and she has never had a problem.» I ordered the Jay’s Heart, which is the pizza that is most like a traditional cheese pizza. Be not fooled by the cheese and herb pizza which has no tomato sauce!!! The Jay’s Heart is quite large. The most offputting thing about the pizza is that it is about $ 4 more. Remember: celiac disease is a medical condition and not just a fad diet, but pricing should be more equitable across the board to accommodate this amazing crust. I absolutely loved the pizza and would eat it again and again and again.

I haven’t had such a great experience in a restaurant in so long time! Flatbread has a good atmosphere and vibe. Everything was excellent! I had a lemonade(very yummy and sweet), salad, pizza and dessert. The pizza was delicious. I was so happy to see all the local produce and have the vegan option. This is the BEST pizza I’ve had in a long time. I was full long before the food was gone, but kept going — that’s how good! Not only was the food good, but the waiter was awesome too. Most places I go I’m usually ignored and get horrible service. Not at all the case at Flatbread. They treat you like a human being. Overall A+++!!!

The food was terrible and over priced for pizza. No variety beyond pizza and you better like thin crust pizza burnt on the bottom. First and last time

I had a wonderful garden salad with an Asian flair and crumbled blue cheese! The thin crust pizza was amazing handmade pepperoni and garden mushrooms

Beer selection best outside Cambridge. Service has greatly improved in the eight years since they opened. The menu is still limited but the specials have expanded. The menu is salads and pizza. Best bet — any of the special pizzas. Pro Tip: buffalo pizza is available every day — even when it isn’t a special. Beer Tip: Maine Beer Company Lunch is contently on tap as of Nov 2015. Look for guest taps for something different. Nights on the weekends are crazy. Adult Tip: the bar service is a great option. Tip: call ahead to reserve your place in ‘line’.

Crazy Good, Crazy Fresh with an awesome atmosphere. The wood burning ovens add a great ambience and the pizzas are very different and very good. The only flaw is that there are few items on the menu although the custom pizza flavours rotate fairly often. There is one salad(which is albeit very good) and absolutely no bread.(Really?) Definitely worth a try and though the bill adds up quickly, it has got to be visited at least once. Who knows… maybe you can convince them to throw a dough ball in the oven!

Flatbread is an example of a really great local chain of restaurants that respect the locality that they are in. Much of their ingredients come from local farmers and retailers, and that is highly respectable in my book. It is located in a region where Bedford, Burlington, and Billerica meet and has a high concentration of cubicle farms here so much of their daytime customers are suits. The atmosphere is warm and comforting and there is a lot space in here as well. I always order the vegan. The mushrooms and caramelized onions are my favorite part of this pizza. My only complaint is that they don’t use a vegan subsitute for cheese on their pizza and they just go cheese-less. There are a lot of really good brands that make vegan cheeses that are great for pizza. I normally do pick up but wait service is great as well and they have a liquor license.

I absolutely love this place! The minute I walk in, my mouth starts drooling because of the yummy pizza aroma permeating throughout the restaurant. I think it’s a cool touch that you can easily see their brick oven and you can see them cooking fresh pizza in action. My favorite/go to pizza here is the Mopsy Kahlua Pulled Pork. It’s packed with toppings without making the flatbread soggy. The pork has just the right amount of sweetness and the flatbread thin crust can’t be beat. All the ingredients they use taste fresh. I inhaled an entire pizza on my own because it was THATGOOD! I also like that they have a ton of beer choices and some that I haven’t found in stores. For example, I had a pumpkin ale here once where the bartender«dressed» my pint glass with cinnamon sugar. That was one of the tastiest beers I’ve ever drank. I was eyeing the salads on other people’s plates and it looks like they don’t skimp on the components so I’ll be sure to order a salad next time to try it out.

It’s great place if you have allergies. It’s very unique when you walk in not what I expected as far as décor. However, the food isn’t that great. It’s expensive of what it is just pizza and it’s not that great of pizza. It’s very thin which I don’t personally like. It didn’t have very much sauce on it and it’s pretty greasy. Alicia

We have been back 2 or three times since… in a month. I mean lets me honest, i’m throwing like, 10 allergies at a waitress and this place can feed me. ANDIT’S GOOD. I just want to go back to my previous review because I forgot to mention the pepperoni — it was disgusting. Like, really, really bad. But I don’t care, because everything else is amazing. I now, everytime, without fail(and it’s SOGOOOOOOOOOD) get the Cheese & Herb with extra mozz, sausage and caramelized onions. It’s the balls. I think I need to start skipping dessert. I think it does have soy/nuts somewhere in the way of getting to me touching it. Which is sad… but I’ll still be back for my pizza and downeast cider!

Another place Unilocal led me to when we were driving around indicisive. I love thin crust and interesting ingredients. I didn’t even know they had a full bar. They were fairly busy for a Sunday at 3pm but no excuse to be left sitting there for 10+ minutes without an acknowledgement. That always sets the tone for a meal. Not sure if there was confusion but when our server finally came over she was unapologetic. Whatever! Our pizzas came out in I’d say 5 – 7 minutes and they were perfect so I didn’t complain. Super thin, super flavorful and organic! Definitely want to try their reasonably priced cocktails ASAP!

Great place. Locally sourced products create fresh and inviting pizzas. One note. If you don’t like children, and this is not the place for you. It is crawling with the kids. Always. Every time of the day. That being said, the pizza ovens are right there to watch them make the pizzas, the staff is attentive and sweet. Where do you go, get at least one of the special pizzas of the day. Usually very surprising flavors and combos, but yummy food. Perritte with a nice glass of wine on microbrew. And you are done. I would say the pizza is average for brick oven. When I went a couple weeks ago, my group got two kinds — Jimmy’s free range chicken and Jay’s heart. The chicken on Jimmy’s free range was a bit dry and the crust was too floppy. Jay’s heart was better but I’ve definitely had better brick oven pizza. I would say each large pizza feeds around 3 people — but only if they’re not in the mood to pig out :). What I liked most about this place was the ambiance. It is rustic and warm — I could definitely spend a couple hours here after lunch catching up with friends. I got warm apple cider in a cute jar with a hand knit koozie my last visit and it fit the vibe perfectly. The staff was also friendly and accommodating — especially with getting different requests on each half of the pizzas. The food came out reasonably fast but honestly I would not have minded waiting a bit longer. I would come back because I loved the ambiance so I really wanted to love the pizza. Unfortunately the pizza I had when I came here was just average.
