This is our local, smokey, let’s grab a few drinks past midnight and sing some karaōke on Saturday night bar.
Beer (import/​domestic/​cider) and basic drinks, service is friendly and the people watching is questionable, but always entertaining. Darts, pool, the usual!
We always sit on the patio to try and stay away from the majority of the smoke, but I pretty much always need to wash my hair the next day.

Great local bar. Wish it was smoke free… but … Still a fun place to get a drink, have some good bar food or visit with friends.
We like going there and hanging out. Always something fun happening.

I’ve been to this place twice with my partner in crime. The first visit was ok. Cheap drinks, adequate service, but the smoke is horrible in this place. I can tolerate some smoke, but this was too much.
On the second visit, we decided to sit outside, but at the bar to avoid the smoke. The bartender was too focused on regulars and we ended up sitting for several minutes with empty glasses in front of us… which we then scooted across the bar and closer to her as a subtle hint that service is required. This bartender also didn’t even have the decency to place our drinks in front of us and we had to reach across the bar to get them. But she made sure to reach and stretch to place others drinks in front of them.
We decided to take our drinks and sit at one of the patio tables. The gentleman that checks ID’s at the door seemed to be keeping an eye on us as he left his spot at the front door and stood on the patio watching us. Subtlety is not his strong suit. Whatever the reasoning, it made for a tense and uncomfortable, not to mention, unwelcome feeling.
I’m a major proponent of tipping and tipping well when service is excellent. I have to say this was the first time in a very long time that I left without paying a tip. I was kind, polite and more patient than I should have been with such poor service so there was no reason for her to be so rude nor was there any reason for the doorman to watch us.
This place could use a hefty dose of John Taffer from Bar Rescue.

This place has personality. From the music they play to the Bartenders having their name on the walls. It’s a bar of a bunch of regulars, and from those regulars to the bartender, everyone is friendly. Drinks are cheap, Half off «Papatizers» on Sunday, and they have Karaōke on Saturday. What else could you want?

Horrible service. Ordered drinks and had to wait too long to get them, and when we did the order was all screwed up. Asked to speak to the manager 3 times and never came around. We tabbed out and asked doorman who manager was. The guy next to him says I am. I explained why we were leaving and basically cared less and wanted to appease me with a free drink next time. However there won’t be a next time. Lost 6 regular customers who spend a significant amount of money there. Going back to Big Apple.

Waitress took 10 minutes to ask me if I wanted a drink, never asked if I would like a menu, came by and dropped off my drink and left. Wait staff needs to be retrained.

Always Great Food and Friendly Staff. They have a Daily Lunch Special that’s around $ 5. They have something different every day and I’ve never had anything that I didn’t like. If you like Sports there are plenty of TVS throughout. They have a huge outdoor patio which has plenty of tables and TVS as well.

I recently went there with some friends and was totally disappointed with what i was told was the manager, Jeff. He was very rude and disrespectful. And pretty much alienated paying customers. Very much a TOOL he is. Would never recommend this place, ever…

Food and service was really good. However, be careful leaving the place. I’ve been there twice and both times, I was pulled over by the police while leaving the parking lot. Now when I drive by the place, I look over just to see If cops are lurking around and have seen them sitting in parking lots across the street. Be careful!

Let’s get one thing straight, if you are trying to impress your boss or a date this is not the place. but if you want to go to a great bar to socialize with friends, have some laughs, and watch the game this is the spot to be. the service at the bar is always excellent which is typically where I’m sitting. they have a good patio that has fans during the summer, and heaters during the winter. Good price drinks, good food, and good service has me coming back every time

Buyer beware. Make sure you ask the time before ordering your cocktail and does it contain alcohol? If ordering a Bloody Mary on a Sunday. I was charged $ 2.75 for the mix & $ 3.75 for the vodka that goes in the Bloody Mary. Also make sure you ask if ALL apps are half price.
We’re semi-​regulars, but today left a bad taste.

If you have to go here… use cash, people! We were in there recently, paid our $ 34 tab and left. When I checked my account the next day, we had an additional charge of $ 101.96 pending — which has posted as of this morning. Pretty sure it’s illegal to use my credit card to pay someone else’s bar tab, without my approval. We will be disputing this charge and reporting them. Best advice — — STAY AWAY!

This place is fun to kick back at. Its not polished and smells of smoke, stale beer and just that bar smell in general. Not quite hole in the wall but definitely no big chain feel. Open patio is nice and pool tables have worked for us. Darts suck so bring your own. Food is really great at bar food standards. Patio bar is awesome for nicer weather. Wait staff has always been friendly and polite to me… I’m nice.

Papa G’s is by far my favorite spot. I am not uppity so a local bar is right for me. I get my money’s worth every time. My favorite server is Mel. She is my best sports bar friend (I’m not sure she knows this). My best drinks are made by Amber and Courtney. Football season is my favorite time to be at the G.

Nice patio area, great food, and the karaōke singers know how to give you a good laugh. The bouncers are rude for no reason and sometimes you run into a trashy crowd, but some nights are different. Papa G’s is a good place to end up if you have nothing to do.

I was very impressed by the food. The Cuban sandwich is awesome! So much so that I ordered it Togo 2 days later ;) Nice atmosphere to watch a game. Service could be a little more attentive, but they were all very nice.

This is a pretty decent bar. I LOVE the patio area! Couches and lights, its very enjoyable. The drink pruces are decent and the staff is usually pretty friendly. We usually use this as a starter bar.

Very surprised by this place! Came during the final 4 watch party and it wasn’t as packed as I thought, which I loved. Idk about you, but I don’t really like bring packed in like sardines with screaming fans.
Super large bar with front area seating, back area seating, and outside! Took seconds to get a table, order drinks, and food (amazing).
During the weekends they have karaōke; which can be a good or bad thing. Still a great feature to have. Idk, a couple cups of liquid courage in you, you might be singing like a canary. In the back/​side area, there is a bar. There are also a couple tables of pool, air hockey, punching bag thingy, and a couple video games. With a group of friends and drinks available, this is the adult place to be. Warning though, when ppl FINALLY get their spot at the pool table, they don’t leave. We were not able to get on that night… :/​It wasn’t outdoor seating weather yet, but outside was very spacious with lots of seating and a couch.
Drink prices were not bad, pretty similar compared to other bars. Food is definitely above avg! We ordered wings (honey BBQ & hot) and the bases loaded fries. THe wings were ginormous, cooked perfectly and had good sauces on it. The fries, ugh, amazing! Idk what kind of cheese they use, but it made the dish! Super cheesy and strongly, but super still super soft! Either the food was amazingly good or we were really hungry. Either way if order both again
This will now go on my list of go to bars! Great atmosphere, good food, and with good company, this is the place to be.

I gotta say… I sort of like Papa G’s. It’s not exactly my scene; a dark, super-​smokey, true sports bar that sells cheap pitchers of okay beer. But it’s a pretty consistent, well-​run, low-​key spot to meet up with a few friends for no good reason!
The menu is actually quite impressive, offering some unusual fare in the midst of your typical nachos and fries (think Greek salad. peppercorn gorgonzola burgers, street tacos, and slow cooked pork). The beer and cocktails are nothing out-​of-​this world, but there are specials everyday, like «$ 1 jello shots on Friday» and «$ 3 crown and down all day Wednesday.» Kind of fun and creates some consistency. On Sunday and Monday you can play pool for free after 9 PM, and last I visited, Karaōke happens on Fridays and Saturdays. It’s not a tough karaōke crowd either; you can definitely get up there, sing horribly, and everyone will still clap for you. Thanks guys!
While there might be the occasional, too-​drunk fool roaming the bar from time to time reliving their sad youth, Papa G’s is mostly filled with locals and regulars who come here to have a relaxing evening. The staff is more than friendly and so are the patrons. Plus, Papa G’s just added on a really nice outdoor patio, so there’s a little extra space to enjoy — especially if you’re looking to avoid the smokiness!
