RECORDS! I went in as a first time customer and it was amazing. My hubs and I went around and bought several different records for our collection. Very reasonably priced and in great condition. I definitely recommend going to this store and I will definitely be returning

Mid-century modern heaven! Tons of furniture, wall décor, lamps, and ceramic pieces. Owner is friendly and helpful.

I love this store. I shop here for the vinyl and there’s plenty to browse through. They also have cute vintage furniture and household goods. They are very helpful, willing to help you find the one thing you have your heart is set on. I could and have spent hours here.

Good selection, clean vinyl, great prices, friendly staff. What more can you ask for when looking for records. In a region where everything seems well over-priced this place gives me good quantity for my buck.

Love this store!!! Recently spent about an hour going through the amazing stash of vinyl… Prices are great and the selection is huge. This place is a hidden gem. Aside from the vinyl the rest of the store is cool too, vintage furniture and accessories galore. Definitely going back after pay day ;0)

I just hit my pre-midlife crisis and begged for a record player for Christmas and got one. The only problem is that records are way overpriced in Dallas, unless you go to Bill’s, which is not fun for me. They are very reasonably priced here($ 3.50 for most!). My only issue was that they either don’t have a listening station or you have to ask for it. They also sell antique furniture as well.

This place is great if you’re looking for records. They have retro furniture and old magazines and purses. Also this place had great shoes! I found some nice chuck taylors that were only $ 15 along with vans and other shoes alike. Really vintage 70’s clothes probably not for daily wear but if you had a costume party I would look here!

YES! I am listening to an original 1981 Iron Maiden Killers album that I found in the $ 1 record room RIGHTNOW. You have to go here. If my husband and I didn’t move so often, we would totally decorate our place with some of the awesome and unique vintage furniture they have at TVF. The people are really nice, as well.

Though The Vintage Freak definitely has more floor space for vintage furniture, clothing, and doohickeys, I think this is definitely an undiscovered gem for record lovers. I believe their stock is mainly from private collections and it shows. The Beatles, Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Neil Young, Rush, Stevie Wonder, Supertramp, The Who… all good picks and definitely a cut above your average Half Price Books. You’ll find the usual categories: rock/pop, hip hop, jazz, easy listening stuff in boxes on the floor… The selection and its condition won’t be as refined or eccentric as, say, Doc’s in Fort Worth but it’s respectable. But where else would I find the Labyrinth soundtrack?! I did and totally bought it. Sorry, folks. :) Their Facebook page regularly advertises new and noteworthy records and it’s worth checking into often. Here is where I think The Vintage Freak shines: the pricing. Some of the records will have prices. Some will not. Whenever I have taken my picks up to the always very friendly gentleman who seems to be in there most often, I have never left the place thinking I paid too much. Very, very fair prices. They do have a Dollar Room in the back where you will find an absolute avalanche of easy listening, movie soundtracks, and basically other records that don’t sell well or are in too poor condition to sell on the main floor. Worth it if you’ve got the time and are feeling tenacious. This is a vintage store in the truest sense of the term: dark, dingy, friendly, cheap, awesome!

This place is awesome– it has TONS of records and a lot of swanky furniture. Unlike a lot of vintage stores, the furniture and décor is all in-style(mid-century) and i saw some designer pieces(eames, herman miller, saarinen) a lot cheaper than I’ve seen at some places in Dallas. Imo: the best place in dfw for quality treasure hunting.

This place is a little hard to find, and the hours are a little strange, but the merchandise is amazing. Fantastic mid century modern furniture and accessories from low end to high end. The staff is very knowledgeable about the history and makers of the pieces. They know what they’ve got, so the prices are not low, but they aren’t unreasonable either. I definitely enjoy visiting, and will be back whenever I am in the area.

I really wanted to like this place more. It is definitely a place to go for records, that’s for sure. For furniture though? They had quite a lot of 70s furniture to choose from and I have no idea what the prices were like since they weren’t marked. It was kind of neat b/c it felt very retro stepping into that store, but I really didn’t think the quality of the furniture was very good for the most part. The person at the register was talking to her friends(or maybe other patrons) and didn’t greet us when we came in or ask us if we needed help at all. I definitely didn’t feel as welcome as I did in Vintage Junkys or House of Wynn.

The proprietor –Ken– hasn’t done any advertising since the place is still pretty unorganized but a coworker spotted Vintage Freak randomly getting her shoes fixed next door and hipped me to since she knew me and my beau are into records. The place is pretty huge and only a very small section of the records are arranged by artist –popular stuff from the 70’s mostly– with everything else just in random boxes piled everywhere. We thought this was cool but if you don’t like to dig, this ain’t your place. He says they’ve been open 2 weeks and he’s got thousands of records in storage so there’s new stuff supposedly coming in constantly. Prices are excellent –he said specifically that he doesn’t want to be like Forever Young since their prices basically exclude anyone but the most serious collector. He’ll even let you clean off your records and play them on his turntable before you buy anything. There’s a ton of stuff aside from records– vintage furniture, some clothes, old books, laserdiscs(?) and other random thangalangs. You gotta wiggle around and step around and over things as it is so it feels kinda like a big garage sale and the«new arrivals» room has an odd odor going on. But I think it gives the place character! Ken also says that they’re going to get a lot more vintage clothes eventually, as it was today there were a couple piles of coats, a three piece western denim suit from the 70’s, and a Gretchen Wilson t-shirt. Wonderfully random! All in all a really cool place if you’re into discovering some new old music!
