I have to rate a 3 star cause of today’s experience. Line was all the way to outside parking lot. Shelves were empty, as well as their champurrado /coffee station. Looks like they had a long day with no staff to tend to the crowds of people there now. People were in line ordering 20plus Churros. And only one lady ringing and serving orders. I have tried their Churros once in the past and they were amazing. I brought friends with me today raving of this place and was so disappointed. Maybe they will read this and try and staff more people on weekends cause it sure seems they serve great stuff. I hope I will not be too discouraged and come back again on a different day where maybe not so crowded. I did drive all the way from Downey on Sunday with a lot of traffic to go home empty handed, and sad.

Their churros are delivered, not made there. So when they run out, you have to wait for them to be delivered. They have four filings: chocolate, cajeta, guava and vanilla. They are all amazing but my favorite is chocolates and cajeta. Their champurrado is really good, not too thick. Limited seating and limited parking. Right on the corner. You can’t miss it!

We bought a 3 leches cake for my moms birthday and it was very good. My mother said it was the best 3 milks cake she’s ever had. While we were there my wife and I picked up the highly rated churros. These churros are so bomb!!! We’ve been here twice and will definitely be back again!

Whenever I’m in the area visiting my aunt I make sure to always stop here. These churros are delicious and I really like the guava filled ones, if you’re lucky enough to obtain a fresh batch, your life will be made!

The churros and champurrados are amazing, there’s no doubt about it. Their customer service on the other hand is absurd! My boyfriend and I were waiting in line waiting for our turn while there are 3 people behind the counter. The younger employee is already helping one customer with his order while the older employee is taking forever with one customer(talking about absolutely nothing) which is fine since we weren’t going anywhere important but once the customer she was taking years to talk to finally decides to make his order she gets a phone call and blatantly ignored him to walk to the back room to take the call. What kind of customer service is that? I love the baked goods here, but this is not the 1st I’ve encountered this type of service from this bakery. So if you are going to go here please be prepared to spend some time here. It is also why I chose to rate this 3 stars.

I came here because i have heard soo much about how wonderful the Churros are. I wanted to bring them as a gift so I called to see if A. They were open(today is black friday) and B if I could make an order over the phone so that everything would be ready by the time i got there. «oh. you don’t have to make an order. we have plenty of churros rellenos». COOL! So i get there and the nice guy at the counter told me that they didn’t have any more churros and after telling him that i called and was told that they had churros then he told me that i probably called the wrong place and to check out the other bakery a block away. :sigh: I get to the other lucero’s which is way bigger and technically in Commerce, CA. It smells like ABSOULTEHEAVEN in the parking lot! There are maybe 3 other people waiting for churros. I get to the front of the line and the señora says«oh we don’t have vanilla.» i wanted to get chocolate instead and then, «oh, we don’t have chocolate» –_— I tell her that i tried to make an order over the phone but was told that i didn’t need to because they had a full stock. she said«try to figure out what you want and i’ll be back» she left 5 minutes preparing churros in the back and when she came back out i told her«i’ll just get 5 plain and 5 cajeta then». 10 minutes go by and i haven’t even paid yet. As soon as i was getting ready to walk out then the lady came back and said«these are yours». I paid for the churros and left. I got to the car and… omfg these were the best goddamn churros i’ve ever had!!! This totally changed my whole experience. lol The cajeta was perfection. Everyone loved the churros and it was a happy ending. BUT i’ve learned my lesson, from now on i’m going to just make an order before i go. I was HIGHLY irritated that i drove way over there just to be told that they didn’t have any of the churros that i wanted to get. awesome prices by the way! I’ll do another review once i go back.

Churros– sweet & cinnamon-y. Crunchy on the outside, soft & chewy on the inside. They put Disneyland to shame. Filled Churros– they don’t skimp on the filling. — Vanilla: is very, very sweet. — Cajeta(essentially, caramel): so, so good. So good. So reasonably priced. — They also have guava & chocolate Champurrado– thick, not overly sweet. Perfect way to balance the churros. Hot chocolate– like, serious hot chocolate. Not sweet. Very cocoa, not milk chocolate. Parking is suck. Crazy small lot, awkward angles all around. It’s pretty nightmare-ish. No parking on main street(Gage), but there’s plenty of parking on the small street(Jaboneria). They’re pretty accomodating & usually stay open past their closing time if you call and tell them you’re rushing over. They’ll take orders over the phone too.

I make a trip here a couple of times a year for the tres leches cake. It’s far and away the best I’ve ever had and quickly became my husband’s top choice for his birthday cake each year. The staff is typically friendly and they work quickly. I did, however, observe flies crawling on the metal tube that’s used to fill the churros with caramel, so I’ve stayed away from those. The parking lot is very small and gets crowded on weekends, so be prepared to have to park on the street.

They are known for the Churros and tres leches cake. People love it. But, I think their tres leches cakes are too sweet for my taste. The churros are good. The pan dulce is good and the champurado is delicious. I’ve been going here for years for the pan and champurado, not the cakes which I think are pricey and too sweet. Customer service is good. Bad thing is that they ran out of pastries fast and they tend to send you to the other store and then you get there and they also don’t have any… :/Parking is not so great.

The tres leches mocha cake is literally the best and my favorite cake ever! I’ve had it for many birthdays in my family and everyone loves it every single time. I even had it for my graduation party. I had around 40 invitees and they all had two pieces because it was just so delicious!

I ordered my daughter’s cake here a week before the occasion. The lady who helped me was very helpful. The cake came out perfect, it was exactly what I asked for. The decorations were perfect and the bread was delicious. I got tres leches con nuez for one cake, and original tres leches on the other. It’s definitely worth the try.

I was super excited to try the filled churros. I had my fingers crossed after reading about the center of the churros being raw. I felt much better when I saw there was a stream of people coming to get churros. It has to be good, right? It is good. If you don’t inspect the churros and don’t think about the raw dough then it’s a crisp churro filled with your filling of choice(chocolate, guava, caramel, and vanilla(?)). However, if you are like me and peaked into the churro, you’ll find that what the previous Unilocalers said are indeed true. The center is still raw… Though they push some of the inside out to make room for the fillings, they are sloppy and there are still raw dough. Blah. I got the guava churro. I would have truly enjoyed it if it were cooked… My friend got the caramel one. They were kind of sloppy filling up this one. There was barely any filling inside the churro… Their cakes on the other hand are good. We tried the tres leches cake and it was moist and flavorful. Would not recommend the churros here, but the cakes are a go!

Went in there to check out a birthday cake didn’t have a design ready(thought they would have a book or something) asked one of the girls and she said check out facebook ummm ok she then kept answering phones(trying to avoid us at least it seemed that way) we were the only ones in there then she calls another girl she came out with a piping bag in hand helped her work the iPad and scratch her face(with the pipe bag still in hand) then she went back to work(no washing of the hands!!!) finally they showed us one picture ONE! Took them about five minutes to get a quote!!! Did buy a white concha(stale stale stale) and some churros(the reason they get two stars!!!)

Pros: + Cajeta Stuffed Churros! Cons: — Long wait — Parking sucks Tip: Been here a few times and last time I called to place an order for a dozen stuffed churros and they told me I could pick them up directly from the place they get them from which had better parking and faster service and was very close by. Ask them about that to avoid the long lines if you just want the churros. Oh my god. The dulce de leche stuffed churros. Just come here and get some already. If the world ends and you don’t try them, what was the point of your life? The five stars are for the churros from heaven only. Haven’t tried anything else, nor do I want to. Eat them quick though, the next day they don’t have the same texture. Also, get a dozen or else you might end up having a terrible fight with your family at home. These churros have that effect hahaha

2 stars only because the tres leches nuez cake is awesome. This place is known for their filled churros… guess thats why they dont care if the center is raw because the raw dough is pushed out to make room for the filling. I dont like filling so I got the old school churros and found them rock hard on the outside and raw in the center. They are like food prop food. Looks great… taste like S…

I had a good experience ordering my cake via email. This is my 3rd year purchasing my daughters bday cake from luceros and this year i added some of there red velvet cupcakes and churroz. The wait for my pickup was terrible as always but i expected as much with how busy they always are on saturdays. Next year i will set pickup 2 hours before. Still a 5 star because that tres leches, cupcakes and churros disappeared less than 5 minutes after putting them out. As w Always we received tons of compliments and as always they deliver great results on the design i want. Thank you lucero café. Maybe add 1 more register for Saturday :)

Been coming to Lucero’s since I was a kid. Their churros are amazing. My coworkers love it when I bring some to work and they’re always requesting that I bring some in. The churro stuffed with cajeta(similar to caramel) is a must try. You will not be disappointed.
