I really want to like this place every so often when I give it a go. It’s just a friendly casual place and sometimes that alone fits the bill. As far as the pizza goes I’m a native New Yorker and my pizza expectations are just too high. Nothing about the pizza tastes right to me, but maybe this place is an acquired taste somehow. Do not bother getting slices here because I’m fairly certain the fresh pies tastes better and actually retains some taste and doesn’t appear overly greasy. I’ve never tried the gelato so I can’t comment on that.

Last night I went to Luigi’s Pizzeria on Bissonnet with a group of friends and had a horrible time. We usually go to the one on Almeda, but that one no longer is BYOB because of Axelrad. Everything went wrong. The place was noisy, our first pizza was burnt so we sent it back, and the dude behind the counter was a rude! The place closed at 9 and he made it clear that we needed to drink up and leave. There are many other places to go with your friends that offer an excellent atmosphere, great food at a reasonable price, and the people are genuinely happy to serve you. I will never go back.

We wanted a quick meal and decided to get pizza from a nearby location. We carried out, but they have a cute seating area if you want to dine in. They advertise that they do thin crust pizza but the crust was a little too thick and soft(vs. crispy) for our taste. We got the alfredo and mushroom and added Italian sausage. I liked the flavor of the sausage a lot and the sauce was good! We also got the veggie pizza which ended up being a little too soggy because there were so many toppings on it! I definitely am not complaining on getting more for my money, but I’m not into soggy pizza. This place is decent for pizza but if you want thin crust pizza, you should aim for another pizza joint.

This seems like a small family owned business. It was clean but you can tell it’s been open for a long time. I thought the menu was the one above the gelato case. Nope! There is a full menu available. Looks like most customer call in the pizza order. The dining area was small and there was only one other customer. My order was fast! I know it’s just a salad. Fast prep and I like the mozzarella. I should have ordered mine with a meat though. It was still good and I loved the fresh basil.

Great place tucked away off the beaten path on Bissonet. Not really a big place but I’ve always been able to find a seat whenever I come in which is nice. The food is fantastic and fairly quick so if you’re on your lunch break you should have plenty of time to actually taste your food when you eat. Everyone that works there all seem very nice and personable. Quaint little atmosphere with a few tables outside for when there’s nice weather. Pretty good size menu so there’s more than just pizza there. In fact today I am trying the Italian calzone and I’m pretty sure it’ll be as good as the pizza. Going to try the chicken parm on my next visit… can’t wait. –McLovin

Ate every single bit of it. Chicken parm was good. Next time I’m going to try the lasagna like everyone suggested. The crew here was so friendly. And funny. As soon as you walk in it feels like a nice vibe. Reminds me of my first job. Got ice cream while I waited and it’s amazing. I can’t eat too much of regular ice cream. Not sure why but I wanted seconds of their strawberry. So good.

Great crust + great sauce + great cheese + great toppings = GREATPIZZA! This is my favourite pizza place in Houston! The restaurant has a very nice staff and a cool laid-back vibe. They also make a deliciously fresh salad and great sandwiches.

Delicious food. If that was all, I’d give it 5 stars. The value is great, as many places are cheap, only a select few are inexpensive. I had the lasagna, which is hearty enough for 1 of me(1.5 normal people). When we arrived, there was instantly genuine, friendly, attentive service. The place feels honest, as a casual, homestyle atmosphere, like an uncle’s place. Good find. Good stuff. Eat+rock on!

GREAT pizza! absolutely amazing! I would recommend this place to all fellow pizza lovers! the only reason I’m giving them a 4 star is because when I called to place my delivery order(on a weeknight), they told me they couldn’t deliver and we had to pick up. I live all of 3 minutes away. My fiancé was sweet enough to pick it up, and mannn was it worth it!

Best pizza in Houston hands down. Absolutely amazing pizza and just as good setting having a shared courtyard with a beer garden.

It’s BYOB. My husband had the supreme pizza slice, and I had the chicken Alfredo. Pizza was pretty good… not too dough-ey. The sauce did not overpower the other ingredients. My husband did not complain, and after chomping a bite from his slice, I nodded with satisfaction. On to the Alfredo. I usually make my own Alfredo at home with freshly grated cheese, so needless to say, I have fairly high standards. Drum roll please… It was delicious! The meal came out piping hot, and the Alfredo sauce was generous… not too dry or heavy, not too buttery… Just the way I like. Did I mention my pasta came with a salad? Yes, the pasta was under ten bucks and came with a generous-portioned salad. What a pleasant surprise. I always like to see good local businesses do well. The folks are family owned, as evidenced by the daughter(cashier) mentioning something about her dad Luigi’s special sauce. Anyway, Bellaire has a shortage of decent eateries. I really hope this place stays. It is down the street from me, and I sincerely hope it becomes regular food fare here.

I know one or two things about pizzas, I have lived in many places around the world and wherever I go I am always in search of the perfect pie. In my opinion Luigi’s delivers one of the best of its kind(NY style). Why? Crust, sauce and cheese work in perfect harmony with each other, you add the toppings you want and it will still work well for you because the foundations are right. On top of that, the casual atmosphere of the location, the great service of the staff makes the simple things in life great in my opinion.

Lotsa cheese, sauce not bad. Could use a crisper crust. Plus they had granulated garlic.

My husband and I went here last night with a group of friends. It was a fun environment with outdoor seating options with picnic tables! The weather was nice, so we enjoyed eating outside. We ordered a large with half Supreme and half Vegetarian. I liked that the crust was thin, but the outer part of the crust was burnt and it was a bit hard to chew. I also felt like it was a bit too greasy and not enough veggies on the«Vegetarian.» Our friends ordered their buffalo wings, so we tried some and they were very juicy and flavorful! Our favorite part of this place was gelato. We were so full after pizza and wings, but we can never say no to dessert! We got a small size with half Guava and half Pistachio. Even though it was a small, we got a full cup of gelato and we were very satisfied with the flavors. We both loved pistachio as it was very different from other pistachio gelato/ice creams we have ever tastes. It was a subtle taste of nutty flavor, but it was not too sweet and the texture was so smooth!

The pizza is not very good. The crust tasted like cardboard and didn’t have any chew to it. I would say this is not even comparable to any of the national pizza chains, perhaps a frozen pizza. The crust is similar to a reheated frozen pizza. Luigi’s was generous with the toppings, but that couldn’t save it from the crust. Was very disappointed after reading the reviews on here, if only I knew to expect fast food pizza. The salad was also sad, it was mostly iceberg lettuce and didn’t warrant a second look. The breadsticks were regrettable. I think there are better options in Houston for great pizza.

Have had pizza from here twice and both times it was very good. Prices are normal for pizza, and the pizza tastes great(and it didn’t give me indigestion like many other pizza place’s offerings do). The parking lot is small but I have not had problems so far. The place itself is a hole in the wall style pizza place. No problems with placing the order and the staff was nice. Will stop by again.

Fast service but mediocre taste. I ordered a Chicken Parmesan dinner. The portion size was good but the entire entrée just lacked flavored. The chicken was the traditional deep fried breast meat but was not really seasoned. The sauce was the house bolognese but lacked the bolognese punch. If you’re hungry, it beats nothing but definitely not something I’d order again.

The pizza here is AMAZING!!! The only thing I have to complaint about and why it gets 1 star is because of their service /attitude is horrible. I believe they know that their food is great, but cmon why do they have to be so rude? 1– the lady who took my order didn’t even let me finish ordering when she hung up. 2– the African American guy said to me «we are closed, we had a rough day» I’m sorry but what do I care if you are tired or not?(Do you hear the teller complaint about too many transactions and closing down early the bank because they are tired?) They still had 2 hrs before closing. 3– the delivery man got upset because I tipped him 4 dollars to close the $ 30 bill. He game the look. I’m really sorry but I have been dealing with their attitude for over 8 months. I am a pizza lover and their food is great but their lack is service and hospitality is far greater. Luigis have lost a client, don’t let this happen again with other clients. Better yet, change your attitude.

We were in the mood for Pizza tonight and decided to randomly try Luigis. I had heard good things about the location in midtown, and after finding out that there is one in my neck of the woods, we decided to order. The delivery wait was pretty long. It took about any hour to get to us, but the lady was very nice and apologetic. The food itself was good. We ordered the Caprese salad and a pepperoni pizza with mushrooms and prosciutto. Both were descent. I’ve had better but I’ve definitely had worse. The breadsticks that came with the salad were not good. Cold and tough. All in all, I think I will continue to try other pizza places until I find my favorite, but I certainly wouldn’t complain if I had to eat their pizza again.
