I LOVE this office. My son was seen by an orthodontist as he was in need of braces. Dr. Carnicella looked at him and with a method she uses saved us a LOT of money and he was done in 9 months — not 3 years! The office is professional and friendly as well as competent! Dr. Carnicella is one of the most eductated dentists you will ever find.

My 2-start rating at Carnicella and Associates is the average of my actual dental experience and my experience with their business. Overall, the dental experience was very good. They hygienist who worked with me, Spring, was very competent, friendly and gentle. She made the cleaning and treatment easy and pain free. Unfortunately, my experience with the business side tanked the overall experience. My main gripe regards their insurance process. Prior to having any work done, I had a consultation with Dr. Carnicella and we agreed upon the treatment plan. Based on that consultation, I met with the person who handled insurance to review my plan’s coverage and what my out-of-pocket cost would be based on the agreed upon treatment. The OP cost was do-able so I scheduled the cleaning and treatment. As noted above, the actual dental experience as very good. Then I received the bill for services, over $ 700, which far exceeded what I was told my OP costs would be. I called and spoke with the Insurance coordinator, and she gave me a very flip response, «Oh well, I guess your insurance company wouldn’t cover the costs.» OK, I get that it was my insurance company, and still she assured me before I went through with anything that my work WOULD be covered. When I asked about it further to see if we could work anything out, she flatly said«no». I spoke to other staff members about my issue and the best I got was, «I’m sorry.» I did expect the office to step up and own their responsibility in this mess, display some compassion and work with me. Instead, I got abysmal customer service and honestly, I felt like I had been the victim of a bait and switch ploy.
