This place has the best chicken lollipops, not only that but everything here is delicious.

Food is always great like the other sagar chinese, but this one’s customer service sucks. They don’t have enough employees to handel rush hours. Had to wait for 20 minutes to order. They need more people during holidays and rush hours.

Sagar chinese is a bit over rated in my opinion. The service is not all that great. Foods tasty. They close rather early at times and when its packed you might not even be able to get a seat and probably would have unattentive waitors. Price is okay. The one in jamaica is more popular. Over all its just okay. Dont mind it and dont mind not having it. Recommend the lollipop chicken for sure though.

Very good food I was there for mother, s day. We had good time. Service is great we were they almost at 10:30 pm and they were packed I asked them if they can take us and they happily let us know. I forget to ask the name of my waitress but she was amazing. She was very polite and helpful. This was my first time at This Resturant and I wasn’t aware of there items much but she did help me Choose from the menu. So at the end all I have to say is must try this place. I highly recommend.

This place is okay. The food is good. The people/waiters need to be better. The waiters are rude and are not welcoming. I was told I could not be seated at a bigger table because my entire group wasn’t there. Some people run late. The tables were supposedly«reserved» for an invisible group coming in. This was a lie because I called to asked if they took reservations, they said no just come in. The table didn’t have a reserved sign on it. Getting to the food, It’s amazing. They can cook. The soups are great, the chicken fried rice and manchurian chicken are delicious as well. The mango Lassi is there to supplement the spice, if you need it ofc. Great atmosphere, good food I’m giving it two stars because the customer service left much to be desired. That’s a must in the Resturant. I will go there again and hopefully it will be a better experience.

Just got our dinner order delivered. HORRIBLE! It would take a lot for me to say that, but not only was it not like any other Indian food I’ve eaten, but it was terrible-tasting. Tooo salty. I could only eat the bread, a

First off it is one of the best Indo Chinese around! There are a few others that are comparable but their lollipop and general Tao are all I crave! Make sure you are prepared to wait to be seated on a weekend due to the crowds that come for the halal Chinese. We always keep a back up incase it is too crowded. However totally worth the wait once you are seated! I was there last night and just chowed down some mancurian fried rice, which were amazingly seasoned and didn’t need to be paired with anything great on its own. The wait staff is constantly working hard to keep their costumers happy which is great to see and their food is great I wish they took reservations but considering they aren’t a huge location it makes sense.

Not authentic more of indo home style Chinese. Saggar is Over rated and pricey. The main courses are much prettier in the pics. For good Halal Chinese just go to 187& hillside Ave

This place would’ve gotten 4 stars but honestly I felt that proportions were too small. The music is old and kind of annoying as well. The service could’ve been a lot better as well. The food wasn’t too bad though. Enjoyed it. I didn’t try the dessert but there wasn’t anything on the menu to really catch my eye. I personally feel it’s slightly over priced as well

Decent South Asian food. Good ambiance. Be careful when you are ordering any beef dish. A distinct smell, which kind of felt as the meat was old or been in the refrigerator for some time. When mentioned to the waitress, she apparently told the chef and in her own words to me «they didn’t bother when I told them in the kitchen» I love their food. And I can swear by them. But didn’t appreciate the way today’s incident was handled.

When I’m in this area visiting family, we gather over a meal. When mom dukes isn’t in cooking mode we order from numerous quality Indian restaurants and occasionally from Sagar for Indo-Chinese. My experience as a former frequent take-out customer plummeted past acceptance last weekend. In general, the employees and phone manner is pleasant while the food is ready in expected time. The quality of the food, however which was okay at best, has gotten worse. As an example, Hakka noodles is a standard option that is hard not to accomplish and thereby judgeable of a restaurant’s quality a la Pad Thai or Spaghetti is to their respective cuisines. What I received was something like Lo Mein sin soy sauce or any distinctive flavor. Alternatively, the sauce in our Ginger lamb was congealed and basic on the palate. Some ginger, no garlic, no salt., no spice! After following up with them regarding my disappointment, they tried to do right by me by offering an alternative dish… the spicier, Chili Lamb. Unfortunately, the infusion of green chillies did little to please the other flavors I expected. As it stands, I will not be ordering from here despite the large crowds this restaurant draws on the weekends.

I really wish I could give a restaurant 0 stars. My family and I are dependable customers, and somehow we’re always so optimistic that our take-out experiences will be better the next time around. The staff can be pretty rude not only on the phone but also when you go to pick up your food to go. Every time we call them to place an order, you have to either wait 10 minutes on hold, or you never get anyone to pick up and have to redial the number. And if you somehow luckily get someone on the phone, you can never hear them because of the huge din of the background noise from the restaurant itself. The last time we tried to order food, my dad and I had to call about 10 times because sagar was the only chinese available, but it kept on dialing as if someone was either on the line or was refusing to pick up the phone. It’s annoying not to be able to get a phone call across, but when you’re hungry, it’s rude. I don’t care if they had a full house, but they lost a customer because of their horrible lack of attention to the phone.

This place has officially made me enjoy halal chinese better than traditional american chinese food. The perfect amount of spice and flavoring really adds a different dimension to the typical dishes served and the service here is excellent. If you are in the area it is a must if you love spicy chinese food.

4.5 Stars! We love Indian Chinese food! After one of our family member told us about this place, we just had to check it out. We were here for dinner on a Thursday. The place wasn’t busy & we were seated immediately. The interior is very spacious. One of us was really hungry so after taking a quick look at the menu, we decided what we want to order. We got the spicy chicken pakora, the lollipop chicken, the chili chicken with gravy, & the dry vegetable manchurian. Everything was great but not a perfect 5 stars meal. If you like your chili chicken & vegetable manchurian spicy, you might be disappointed here because it’s not spicy at all, that’s pretty much why we can’t give a perfect 5 stars rating for this place. Both chili chicken & vegetable manchurian came with a side order of white rice. The portion for the rice is definitely generous. The spicy chicken pakora & the lollipop chicken are just as good as some other place that serve Indian Chinese food. As for the service, it was pretty good. Our waiter was very polite & our water was never empty. He was very attentive. If you live nearby or just happen to be in the neighborhood, this place is definitely worth stopping by. Great food! Great service!

While generally I like this restaurant for its food, I was quite surprised when it automatically added a gratuity of 15% for a party of 3 people. I thought it was acceptable for larger parties of 6 or greater but surprised they charged us gratuity for party of 3. Though I am usually a big tipper, I don’t like it when people are charging me automatically without even mentioning the automatic gratuity on the menu. Have to downgrade their rating from 4 to 3 because of this.

I have been going to Sagar Chinese for many, many years. I remember going when it first opened up in Jamaica and it has remained authentic and true to its Asian Fusion Chinese food specialty. The lolly pop chicken is their best appetizer. One order gets you 6 lolly pops. The chicken is great but the sauce it comes with is even better! It has a mayo base and not sure what else in it but it is the best dipping sauce for chicken. If you come to Sagar, be sure to check this out. I recommend the Sagar fried rice, Masala Chow Mein, and any of their chicken entrees(Chilli Chicken, Sweet n Sour chicken). I don’t like their sizzling chicken entrée much because I think it lacks flavor, but it is fun to watch the dish make its way from the kitchen to your table and have it sizzle all the way with all the smoke. I’m not a huge fan of their beef because it tastes kind of chewy to me. Like most other asian fusion restaurants, Sagar uses a lot of spices and masala. Sometimes it is a good thing but other times, less is more. But this is a problem with most asian fusion places so I can’t complain too much(–1 star). This is also one of the cheaper asian fusion spots(compared to Nanking and Tangra Masala). Each dish typically costs $ 8-$ 9 and it is family style dining so the portions are huge. One fried rice can be comfortably split between 3 – 4 people. The Bellerose location has ample seating and the environment is intimate. It is good for groups of no more than 10 people. Basically, if you want affordable asian fusion Chinese food, check out Sagar Chinese.
