I love this place. It’s tiny, and right now you have to fight the road construction. It’s worth it. The service is efficient and friendly, and the sushi is fresh, well-made, and often interesting. I’ve only had one Thai item, yellow curry, and it was good. Hubby tried the Pad Thai and liked it too. Even though it’s small, I’ve never felt rushed when it’s busy. A really pleasant place to eat.

Very fresh sushi, loved the smoked salmon roll and the sweet potato roll. The yellow curry was creamy and mildly sweet — delicious! Great local place to get your Thai fix.

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but once you get your food you’ll be in heaven. The Red Dragon Roll is amazing. The seaweed salad and crashing are also great. They pay great attention to detail, presentation and taste. No need to go anywhere else!!!

Best sushi in the St. Louis area for sure! My wife and I love this place. The sushi is very fresh and not only tastes amazing but the chef is a real artist with the way he makes the rolls. Great atmosphere, it feels very authentic. The best part is the staff, they remember every customer. My wife asked for extra pickled ginger one time. We have been there probably ten times since that and they give us extra every time without us asking. Don’t let the exterior fool you, this is the best restaurant in Belleville.

This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant! I recommend the Hawaiian Spicy roll and the spring rolls for an appetizer. The service is great, the food is delicious, and the prices are extremely reasonable.

Stopped here for lunch today and we ordered their sushi roll special as well as side salads. Their salads were great and the ginger dressing they had was really tasty. The sushi was not quite as tasty. We ordered a Rainbow roll, Rattlesnake roll, and Yellowtail roll. The Rattlesnake roll wasn’t bad, it had decent flavor and on par with typical sushi. The Rainbow and Yellowtail rolls were very bland and not impressive at all. Neither had any pizazz or uniqueness. With all the 4 and 5 star reviews… as well as the price, I was hoping for great sushi, but had to settle for ok.

What this place lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in delicious sushi! I had the Rainbow and Crazy Tuna Rolls and they were both absolutely incredible. I will be back and will refer friends and family.

This is by far, my favorite sushi joint in the the STL area. My girlfriend, who is a native Japanese, claims it to be the best sushi in America. The Sushi is absolutely amazing! Fish is soft, with a good odor. Rice is always soft and fresh. The specialized rolls are perfectly crafted and very creative. I recommend the Green Dragon and N. Illinois rolls. Their thai food is phenomenal as well! The service is what really makes the place one of a kind. The couple that owns the place are a delight to chat with. They remember my name, and that my Girlfriend is Japanese. Food comes out in a timely manner, and take-out is a breeze! If you want amazing food, and service, I recommend Sushithai!

First time trying Sushi Thai. They staff was very friendly and the service was fast. I took mine to go since I had to work. The sushi tasted fresh and looked amazing. Even for to go box the presentation was beautiful. Im definitely going to recommend this place to my fellow sushi lovers! And I will be a repeat customer for sure!

This is my favorite place to get sushi in the area. You’ve got to try the Green Dragon & North Illinois Maki. Samran’s rolls are delicious and his presentation is always fabulous.

Stop number two on my birthday sushi crawl. This quaint mom and pop place was fun. The chef remembered my friends from the last time they had been there and remembered their order, quite impressive! We ordered the Belleville Alligator roll, the New York roll, and the crazy tuna roll. The Belleville alligator roll won out of the three both on presentation(see pic) and on overall flavor and texture. The NY roll was a close second. Definitely give this place a try and support a local business. A great find!

The food was good, tasty and original. Dishes were just the right size. Miso soup was good and service was fine. I had the yellow curry and wished it was more spicy.

This is my go-to sushi place in Belleville. If you can see past the«hole-in-the-wall» vibe, their rolls are high quality at a great value. The setting is intimate, hardly ever crowded, and you can have the attention of your friendly hosts as you please, without feeling unduly pressured(as when sitting at a traditional sushi bar setup) or forgotten(as sometimes happens at se7en or Wasabi).

I have eaten at ever Sushi place in the metro east and this one is equal or superior to each of them. Having the option to get Thai food is great for families with diverse tastes. I have never been disappointed with anything I’ve gotten and the owners are always pleasant and attentive. I eat here at least once a month. Go! As soon as you can!

A hidden gem that is sure to tantalize your taste buds. This sushi was all fresh and delicious and at a very good price. We have yet to try their Thai food, but if the sushi is any indicator on how good the food is we cannot wait to come back and try that as well. It was nice that they had so many vegetarian options on the sushi menu and the Thai menu and the salad dressing on the house salad was very delicious. We had no trouble finding parking on a side street, and it wasn’t very busy. They have alcohol, and they also have things like Thai tea. The presentation was very nice… things like the little wasabi«blossoms» and the ginger accoutrements.

Have been coming here for over a year now and just looked up the reviews and was shocked! We have never lacked for good service and even when they are super busy they have time for a smile and a wave! The Thai food is as good as the sushi and can be tailored to any taste. Their miso soup is really good especially when you are under the weather :) YOUGOTTAGO !!!

Hands down my most favorite sushi place in the St. Louis area. I live in the city and tried lots of the big name places there, but this is the best. Can’t beat the soup and kindness of the owners. I definitely recommend Samran!

I have to admit, my partner and I have been driving past this restaurant for months now, wondering, «What the hell is a Sushi Thai?» We have company visiting this week, however, and we decided we’d go ahead and give it a try. And god, am I glad I did. I can’t even remotely begin to understand what some of the other reviewers here have found to complain about. The sushi is very reasonably priced, and three for two is not a bad deal at all. We were given very generous portions of the sauce served atop the spicy salmon and crunchy tuna, which all three of us were impressed by. Typically, any sauces or dressings on sushi are sparing at best, but Sushi Thai gave us plenty of extra to dip the other rolls, as well. Speaking of the crunchy tuna, I’m already looking forward to going back there for another helping. I’ve found my new favorite place to get sushi, as well as my new favorite item to order. I can’t wait to try their curry and tempura. Our miso soup was served in large bowls, hot but not scalding, and was practically the Platonic ideal of a good miso soup. I sort of found myself wishing that we’d been given the wider spoons that are often available, but it’s hardly a real issue. The presentation was really great, too. The arrangement was so pretty — with the sushi, ginger, wasabi, and drizzled sauce — that I couldn’t help snapping a photo(which is included in this album, now). Our server(who I think was one of the owners) was very friendly and attentive. We never went for very long without her topping off our glasses of water. The only problems I can see are the lack of parking and the lack of dining space, but this is something that would affect any small restaurant along 159. Our experience was quiet, peaceful, and both filling and tasty. Previously, Wasabi in Edwardsville was my favorite place to go, but I’m excited to have a fantastic sushi location that’s a few minutes from my house instead of forty-five. I’m excited to eat there again.
