I’ve been shopping at this small, family-run Armenian grocery-mart since last summer. My kids take weekly math lessons next-door at the Russian School of Mathematics so I drop by often. The friendly owners have a definite knack for finding in-season fruits and veggies and selling them at a reasonable mark-up. I used to frequent Freddys, Crossroads Farmers Market for produce but I now go to AGH and other(ethnic) groceries for better value. E.g., last week(this was late July), their white doughnut peaches were superior to Bellevue Uwajimaya’s. They also stocked vine-ripened tomatoes that seem to be favorites of their Russian-American customers; last time, I saw one lady and her mom buy a dozen tomatoes between the two of them. I love Costco as much as the next guy, but not all of my produce needs can be met in jumbo-sized portions. Basically, you’re not going to get better deal around here on many of produce and E. European pantry items, unless you travel south to Marvel Food & Deli(Auburn) or DK Market(Renton).

Very nice store and cheap produce from California. Best place to buy lavash(kargin lavash).
