AGH Produce

I’ve been shopping at this small, family-​run Armenian grocery-​mart since last summer. My kids take weekly math lessons next-​door at the Russian School of Mathematics so I drop by often. The friendly owners have a definite knack for finding in-​season fruits and veggies and selling them at a reasonable mark-​up. I used to frequent Freddys, Crossroads Farmers Market for produce but I now go to AGH and other (ethnic) groceries for better value.
E.g., last week (this was late July), their white doughnut peaches were superior to Bellevue Uwajimaya’s. They also stocked vine-​ripened tomatoes that seem to be favorites of their Russian-​American customers; last time, I saw one lady and her mom buy a dozen tomatoes between the two of them.
I love Costco as much as the next guy, but not all of my produce needs can be met in jumbo-​sized portions. Basically, you’re not going to get better deal around here on many of produce and E. European pantry items, unless you travel south to Marvel Food & Deli (Auburn) or DK Market (Renton).

Very nice store and cheap produce from California. Best place to buy lavash (kargin lavash).
