I place orders for delivery each week. Super healthy, fresh, awesome service, and great prices. Wish I discovered this place earlier!

This is my third week using the House of the Sun delivery service and it has exceeded all of my expectations. I am not a raw foodie but I am a vegetarian trying to transition to veganism while decreasing my reliance on processed foods. But, I don’t like to cook so I decided to get a little«professional help.» Everything has been fresh and tasty and I am definitely eating healthier than I ever have before. I have even shared some of my snacks and meals with people at work and they are amazed that food that healthy could taste so good. So far, my favorites are the rawco, toona stuffed avocado and eggplant lasagna, and I LOVE the tortes. It has been my experience that vegan desserts are really hit-and-miss – with a whole lot of misses – but the desserts at House of the Sun are ALL hits! Whether you are a vegan or not, whether you are a raw foodie or not, if you are looking to eat healthier and don’t have the time, desire or «know how» to cook for yourself, try the House of the Sun delivery service. It is reasonably priced and it is really great not having to think about what to make for lunch or dinner. Adam, the chef and owner, clearly loves what he does and I am happy to support his passions while I improve my diet. It’s a win-win!

The Toona Stuffed Avocado is really good, but kind of hard to find around town! I used to get it at Madison Market, and the few times I went there, they did not carry the Toona Stuffed Avocado. I also checked Thrive and Healeo, and they were sold out(or didn’t carry it at all) as well. The Toona Stuffed Avocado is half an avocado filled with raw, vegan ‘Toona’(raw, vegan version of tuna), a slice of lemon, carrot sticks, and olives. This is my favorite item from House of the Sun, and I’d definitely buy it if I can find it in town. It might seem like a small meal, but it is filling, and I can probably eat it for lunch everyday if I had the choice! I can’t attest if the ‘Toona’ is like real tuna fish, but the avocado and lemon juice combination is really yummy! The Chickpea Walnut Fritters are also really tasty as well! It’s a bit pricey, but it is filling and totally delicious and worth it!

The Green Dragon Hummus is delicious! I bought some at the Ballard Sunday Market and it’s Thursday and I’ve eaten it all.

Location: They’re at the back of the little strip mall with the FedEx across the street from Crossroads Mall. There’s no seating, just a kitchen with a fridge in the foyer with takeout containers. Service: They’re friendly enough, but Tuesday is their day for preparing deliveries, so the fridge was rather sparse. They only had a handful of items ready: a few desserts, some eggplant lasagna, coconut pad thai, hummus, and crackers. If you’re willing to wait, they will make what you want. Otherwise, I suggest you call in your order for pickup. Food: I tried the chickpea fritters, buckwheat crackers, and the incan goji berry torte. My friend had the curried vegetables, buckwheat crackers, and vegan chocolate chip cookies. BTW, they specialize in «raw» food, nothing is heated over 115 degrees, so that the nutritional benefits are preserved. They’re vegan, so not an issue. I found the flavors tasty and very concentrated. Price: The food is quite pricey for the portions you get. $ 6 for 4 checker-sized fritters, $ 7 for the torte, and $ 4 for a small tub of crackers = $ 17. Surprisingly though, I wasn’t totally starving 4 hours later. Other: CASH only and open only from 10 – 2 Monday to Saturday.

I adore House of the Sun prepared foods. My favorite is the Green Dragon humus on sprouted crackers, either the Coconut Curry or the Jalapeño. Finding House of the Sun at the Ballard and UDist Farmers Markets has been pure deliciousness!!! Thank You Adam! Extremely tasty raw vegan food, and don’t scoff until you have tried that Green Dragon humus.
