If you care about brilliance in a cardiologist, Dr. Perlmutter may be your man. I was concerned because I had heard that he doesn’t sugar coat anything and is not a hand-holder. I’m a nurse and I had a list of questions for him after a test came back with results that frightened me. Dr. Perlmutter squeezed me in for an early follow-up appointment because he heard that I was riddled with anxiety. I took my best friend with me to the follow up. She is also a nurse. Dr. Perlmutter answered every single one of my questions, and when he left the room, I asked my friend what she thought of his bedside manner. She said, «I LIKE him.» Still, we are nurses and are familiar with many terms that others may not be. Dr. Perlmutter was recommended to me by an Emergency Department physician, and I although I never wanted to need a cardiologist, I’ve found a good one.

WOW. I prefer to see someone less«brilliant» with an ounce of bedside manner. WOW, again. That’s all I can say without fear of reprisals.
