Average at best. Pass on the soup. The soup is probably Campbells from the can… The Thai BBQ Chicken is good though!

Terrible service, horrible food. Nothing good to say. I would give them –5 if I could. I tell everyone not to go there.

I take this back. They have changed the prices. Nothing comes with Rice, it now costs an extra few dollars, plus the main dish is a few dollars more. $ 17 is not ok for Thai takeout for one person.

I brought my Expedia new hire to the restaurant today for lunch. I cannot recall a worse wait staff experience. When we were first seated I wanted to ask the waitress a question, she said no and then walked away. We did manage to order. However, she did not bring our hot tea. Late in the meaI challenged her on this and again, she shrugged and walked away. I had to get my check at the cash register since she would not revisit our table. I have to put this restaurant on hold even thought is convenient downstairs from my office. It has been years since I left zero tip in the U.S. However, I did it today.

Extremely bad service. I placed a to go order at 1:15, and was told 10 minutes. I came back in 10 minutes, didn’t see my food, so sat down to wait. 10 minutes later, the hostess hadn’t even acknowledged me sitting waiting for my to go order. When I finally interrupted her to check on my order, she huffed, looked behind her and found the food sitting there. No sorry or anything. The panang curry was good, but the green beans had only a couple of small pieces of chicken and were tasteless. I’m reminded why I dismissed this place when I first started working at Expedia! For a restaurant in an office building you’d think they would improve their lunchtime to go service to be faster.

Should have read the reviews first. food normal. the service is so bad ! Very rude waitress ! worst, the waitress came outside behind me shouting that I had tipped low! like seriously? even after paying a good amount ! eventually i just doubled the tip amount directly to just close this matter … if its a one off case I understand but if many people are reporting the same issue its just unacceptable!

Took us over 45 min for our food when we arrived at 12:10 and ordered quickly. I know peak time, but let people know there is a long wait for food when some are on a work lunch. Food i’m sure will be good, you can’t really mess up Thai to bad.

I came here for a quick lunch pick up order to go, ordered a Phad Thai… i want to say that the staff at the front desk was nice and I waited 10 min or less to get my order which was great BUT honestly, I’ve had way better Phad Thai at other places. I’ve been to many places, this was one of the worst tasting Phad Thai i have had. It was VERY bland, didn’t taste like it had any sauce on it, and had a burnt smell to it. Not only did it have a burnt smell but the veggies and noodles all tasted burned without being black. I don’t know what sauce recipe they use, it does not taste like Phad Thai so I won’t be back.

Service is slow and rude. Made half of our party sick. Scallops tasted like plastic; they were definitely off. «Extra Veggies» instead of rice usually means you get more than mushrooms. Not only did we have to complain, they took our plates away and brought it back with just more mushrooms. Really? You couldn’t have just brought a plate of veggies? Go upstairs to the NYC Deli. They are nice, cheap, fast and make stuff from scratch.

My favorite Thai restaurant in Bellevue! They have a nice fun environment; for the amount of food you receive I find the price to be fair as well. My favorite is the Chicken! Not at all like other Thai places, the meat is never has fat or anything. Beware though — 3 stars depending on the cook that day could be spicy.

I’ll start off by saying that I have been dining at Tangerine Thai numerous times due to the convenient location right in downtown and the semi quiet atmosphere. However, due to my last visit, I will not be returning. I always left a tip with my bill in the past, but I have not this time around since the service wasn’t up to my expectations. I paid for my meal and as I already left the restaurant, one of their employees chased after me and started telling me that I need to tip him. First off, he was not my waiter, and second of all he has no right telling me what to do with my funds. Here’s how I see it; if the service WASN’T up to my standard, why on earth would I tip? It’s appalling that he chased after me and embarrassed me in public. It honestly came across as though I have not paid my bill. They are acting like this is a high end restaurant, umm no sorry. I have dined at other restaurants where they specify in their menu that gratuity is recommended. No where does it specify this in Tangerine Thai’s menu. I addressed this with the woman at the register and she was very rude, she accused me of never tipping them. I was beyond baffled at this point. I have receipts that can prove that I always tipped them in my prior visits. She also stated that that man doesn’t get paid enough and it’s a necessity to tip him. Wow… That’s my problem how?.. Still trying to process that one. She told me I can go dine elsewhere If I refuse to tip. Ha, and to think that I referred so many individuals to dine at this establishment. Ungrateful, rude, and ignorant is what these employees are. Don’t dine here if you’d rather shy away from a beggar coming after you. How ratchet. They have officially lost me as a customer.

I just love Tangerine! Their food is always tasty and delicious — whatever I choose. I’ve been there many times, with my friends or my husband. The service is ok and the food is fabulous. The portions are decent and prices really good — $ 11 for quite fancy meal in downtown Bellevue is really fine! I’ll be surely coming back there for more :) My favorite Thai restaurant.

Tangerine Thai is a pretty okay Thai place. There are a handful of other Thai places in the Bellevue area and having tried a few of the others, the ambiance at Tangering Thai is on the better side. The food is good. The service was pretty slow and the waiters did not check-in often to refill water, see how things were going, etc. My dish was not as spicy as I would have liked and it would have been great if a waiter took a second to check-in or make eye contact so I could ask for some chilli sauce. But… regardless, it’s an ok place and worth trying out.

NOTE: There are two Tangerine Thai locations. One is in Seattle and one is in Bellevue. We accidentally called and ordered from the Seattle one then showed up to the Bellevue location. — We ordered takeout and the service was great. I had the chicken pad thai, which was average — had all of the right ingredients but lacked much flavor. The serving size was huge, and I ended up having it over 3 days! Hubby got chicken basil rice which was yummy. Couldn’t keep my fork out of his plate! This one didn’t climb to the top of my list, but willing to give it another chance soon.

First time I ordered here. There are at least 4 other Thai places within a mile radius around but this happened to be closest to my place. I came in to order to-go. I ordered 2 red curry entrees with chicken, which are $ 10.95 each($ 2 more than the other Thai places in the area for the same dish). I also asked for eggplant in one and broccoli in the other, for which I was charged $ 3 extra. I’m fine with paying more, it’s understandable to pay extra for extras. The food came out pretty quickly– 10 minutes as promised. There were maybe 2 guests inside the restaurant when I placed my to go order. I got home and got an unpleasant surprise when I took the food out — the containers were slightly more than half full! That is the amount you usually get with no extras ordered — I paid $ 3 more for the same amount of food. How disappointing. I will be visiting one of the many other options for Thai food in the area for future meals.(see posted pictures)

Just a little update since I come here for takeout so often. My faves are their basil chicken fried rice, yellow curry, palace chicken, and beef noodle soup. I sometimes get their noodles like pad see ew but it’s not my favorite here. They sometimes have specials that are really good. One time they had a pork belly stew and it was sooo good. They should have specials more often!

Tangerine Thai Cuisine is the second stop on my mission to review all six Thai restaurants that are within walking distance of my Bellevue office. Unfortunately Tangerine doesn’t come anywhere close to meeting the experience of my first stop Nibbana(read my review here: ). Let’s start from the beginning. Tangerine fills a space in the lower level of the same Bellevue skyscraper in which Expedia is headquartered. It’s pretty clear that the space was built out for a restaurant, although not specifically Tangerine. The space is plain with a modest attempt, at best, to create a Thai ambiance by simply placing some generic decorations on the walls. While the restaurant doesn’t appear to be overly crowded, the area that I was sitting in definitely was. I continuously felt the chair of the person immediately behind me, bumping into my chair. Additionally, the table we were sitting at was not level. Is there anything more annoying than having a table rock from one leg to another every time you pick up your water? Upon being seated, we were brought a complimentary cup of soup which was fine, chicken and tofu, but not particularly memorable. The menu has all the usual suspects — I had Cashew Chicken and my fiend Phad Thai with chicken. I was underwhelmed by my lunch. The vegetables — particularly the broccoli — were overcooked and even tasted a bit grainy. The sauce was too sweet. Even as I was eating my lunch, I was thinking to myself, «This is not very good.» Days later, my memory isn’t any kinder. I was surprised to be handed disposable chopsticks when I asked for chopsticks. If I’m ordering take out, then fine. But otherwise, it would be nice to have a pair of chopsticks that I don’t have to worry about getting splinters from.(And yes, I know that Thais do not really use chopsticks except on special occasions with noodles or rice.) On the plus side, my water glass was filled up regularly without having to ask and the company at my table was great. Total for lunch including two entrees, two rices(yes, they charge for rice) a soda and tip was $ 24.00. I thought long and hard whether this should be a two or three star review and the answer came when I asked myself if I had any reason to ever return to Tangerine, and that’s an easy answer — no. So, rounding down, two stars it is. Health Department Report I’ve decided to add records from the King County Department of Public Health to my restaurant reviews because most people don’t even know these records are available. The past three food safety inspections at Tangerine Thai Cuisine, reaching back to Oct. 2011, have been very good, with only one review out of three with any points at all — and that was only five points for improper storage display.
