I ordered through LA Bite. The food arrived on schedule. I ordered the baby back ribs and tri-tip combo. The ribs were fine, but there were only five bones(and meat of course). I’d expected a bit more for $ 31. The tri-tip was pretty much flavorless if it wasn’t slathered in sauce. It should be seasoned. Lucilles does great tri-tip. This wasn’t very good. I don’t think I’ll order here again. The portion size was poor for the amount of money charged and tri-tip was unseasoned.

Went last night for our daughter’s graduation dinner. Party of 8. Upgraded to 4 stars for the service, not the food! Our server was Jennine I believe, or very close to that. She was very attentive, friendly, funny… excellent server!!! Also found out we live very close to each other, way cool. Our drinks came quickly and all together. Our food came out right on time and hot! My husband and I shared a plate(catfish, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw) as I explained to our server and she went ahead and split the plate for us which I thought was nice of her! Our food was not as good as last time but ok, needed seasoning… our family(8) ordered a variety of food and we all agreed the food lacked seasoning. They did have a trivia game while we were there, different & fun!

Had a great dinner here with my cousin, just way too much damn food. That’s a good thing. ROADHOUSEFEAST FRIEDGREENTOMATOES, SWEETPOTATOFRIESANDFRIEDOKRA I guess this would be the«healthy» part of our meal. Good tomato, tasty fries, okra was just ok. BABYBACKRIBS, TRITIP, CHICKENANDHOTLINK Really good ribs, tri tip and hot link. Chicken was alright. MAC N CHEESEANDCOLESLAW Cool, tasty coleslaw and hot creamy mac n cheese. HUSHPUPPIES, CORNBREAD, BISCUITANDCATFISH Hush puppies and cornbread was ok… I liked the catfish and biscuit just fine. Overall, great place to come stuff yourself silly with plenty of good stuff.

After many many visits, this place is a must when I’m in the area. Southern style where everything is made from scratch. I tried to get the peach cobbler recipe as the cook was putting it together(you can watch through the front patio window). Unfortunately half of the card was hidden. Darn cook! Tasty, tender & flavorful ribs. Crispy fried chicken. They also have a combo meal to share with ribs, BBQ chicken, hot links, etc. Fried okra made fresh is crispy not greasy. You are allowed/encouraged to toss your peanut shells onto the floor!

We celebrated our daughter in law’s birthday here. We reserved the darling outdoor patio for the event. The food was excellent, the service was beyond out expectations, the catering presentation was on point. Everything was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend. This was our second time hosting a get together here and each time we left incredibly happy. Thank you so much to the Sean the General Manager and the wonderful & attentive staff George, Robert and everyone else that made everything perfect

Perfect place for a quiet, early breakfast on a rainy Saturday when I had a lot of reading for work. Ordered the French toast Perdu, a mother’s day menu special, coffee and a side of bacon. My entire bill was just $ 16. Good food, Sports on the television, patio seating, excellent service. What more could you ask for?! They had a great menu so I’m looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes :-)

Eating here today was absolute indulgence! Every bite was as delicious as the next. My husband and I ordered the Swamp Water and Peach Lemonade to drink, neither of which I’ve had before, but would definitely recommend. One of the most amazing things I’ve ever tasted though is the pig n chips. I originally tried this as an off the menu item order over a year ago, but it’s one of the reasons I was craving to come back today. For our main entrees we got the half rack of ribs and I believe the pulled chicken sandwich(I ordered based off the picture). I can tell you both were delicious because I was eating off my husband’s plate. Oh! And for dessert we had this yummy peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake. More importantly though, the service was amazing! Our server, George, was super attentive and made great recommendations for our meal which created an A+++ dining experience.

FULLRACK, BABY! I’m all about ribs and this is a great place to go when I crave them. The hubby talked about it so much, I caved in! He was right, the experience is memorable, especially because I get to eat never-ending peanuts and simply toss the shells on the ground! IDGAF. LOL just kidding! But seriously, you’ll see shells all over the floor the moment you walk in. And ladies, don’t wear your heels in here, wedges are fine I suppose! I’d hate to see you eat it, on the ground HAHA! Our server was super nice and patient. I say patient because their menu was huge and everything sounded so good! Pictures weren’t helping either, I wanted it all. So, since it was my first time, I stuck to my fave… RIBS! Our server even suggested to go full rack since the hubby and I decided to share. Boy, it was FULL-sized, alright! AND that’s how I felt right after. Flavor was all there and our sides were a perfect compliment to the ribs. The greens were so delectable, I kept going for it! We also had rice which I always have to have(: You want an appetizer??! Go for the fried pickle chips or okra! Steamin’ hot in the center and crunchy on the outside. The batter is light and evenly seasoned. It goes really good with the ranch dip too. You want a drink too??! Two words: SWAMPWATER. Just say that. You’ll enjoy it. If the family wanted ribs on any given day, we’ll be over at JOHNNYREBS! It’s on Long Beach Blvd so not too far from home. I’d rather drive here than Lucille’s. Service is excellent and food was undeniably scrumptious!

What a great discovery! Had breakfast here, and am eager to try out dinner. Was greeted straight away and offered patio, inside, or bar seating. Started my meal with a couple beignets which were awesome! I’ve only had them once before in New Orleans many years ago, and I think these might have been a little heavier than I remember, but still great! Main breakfast was chicken fried steak and eggs with country potatoes and a biscuit(add gravy). The potatoes were seasoned awesome with a sautéed onions and they have Texas Peet hot sauce. As far as gravy goes, this is a pepper gravy, not a sweet gravy which is what I prefer. They knocked the chicken fried steak out of the park. Great eats!

A friend of mine recommended this place and we went here to kick off her last leg of her pregnancy. What a way to celebrate! Because this place is good! We shared the Roadhouse Feast, which is not available to-go. The Roadhouse Feast is well worth the cost for all you get. I have attached a picture of what the menu says the Roadhouse Feast contains. Highly recommend to share! Husband was pleased that it’s portions were huge! We even had some food left over to take home. Everything was delicious! Even down to the peach cobbler, which is one of my favorite desserts. My friend loved the mac n cheese. I must admit, it was pretty cheesy… like for realsies cheesy(creamy, not fake). My husband loved the tri tip. We find ourselves talking about the food every now and then. I really appreciate this place even more that they have fried okra and peanuts to snack on. Besides Church’s Chicken, there is no other place I can get this appetizer. My husband loves the fact they have peanuts get snack on while waiting for our food. He loves throwing out the peanut shell on the floor, too. Moreover, they have some refreshing lemonade and tea that is served in a mason jar. Awesome! The service was great. The wait staff was attentive and I didn’t have any trouble flagging down a waiter/waitress when we needed anything. If you’re a big«Fixer Upper» fan like me, you will be pleased to see shiplap on the walls. I was totally fangirling it here seeing shiplap on the walls. Totally adds to the Southern feeling. To be honest, I’ve never been to the South… yet. But I felt like this place is close to it. Why haven’t my husband and I been back since our first time dining there? So here’s where why I took off one star: The parking and the wait. I guess it’s to be expected since this place is pretty good, but it can be a bit frustrating. It’s not like Phil’s BBQ long, but the wait can have a potential to be a significant one. Pretty much my husband and I have to be in the mood and make sure we have ample time to appreciate this place. So for sure we’ll be back at Johnny Rebs — just only when we have the time and patience to do so.

What attracted me to this place was it’s appearance. I’m from Alabama and this is the type of restaurant that we would love to go to down there. The issue that I had with this place was that their food was suppose to be southern inspired, but after tasting the food, it wasn’t that good. I’m not sure what effort they put into their food, but they said for one of their meats, they smoked it for 14 hours, but after receiving my food, there was no way that the meat was smoked for that long because if it was then the meat would be moist and easily fall off of the bone. The server was great and the appearance is my type of place to go to, but the food doesn’t really catch on to me.

Sooooo… I’ve pretty much heard my entire life that johnny rebs was nasty and I never tried it until this moment. Me and the wife decided to head to brunch, she called johnny rebs and asked about brunch and they said they help brunch… so we get here and there’s no brunch. None the less we decide to eat and I ordered creole shrimp and grits and Yankee spuds… 1st off, I made a solid effort to inform the waitress that I do not eat tomatoes and needed the tomatoes removed from the spuds while ordering. She then brings fried green tomatoes that we didn’t order, then brings our food. My grits have fucking tomatoes in them… like is she intentionally trying to kill me? My wife orders country fried steak and the shit is dry as the sahara. Like what type of business is this? Only good thing we have on our table is endless mimosas but the fact remains that the champagne used is cheap, ruins the entire flavor of the drink. I will NEVER return to this establishment based on what I have learned today… 1. Waitress apparently doesn’t give a fuck about my tomato allergy. 2. Mimosas suck. 3. Waitress forgot my son’s milk. 4. Dry chicken fried steak and too thick gravy. 5. Non seasoned eggs.

Came in for breakfast for my first visit, haven’t been there since the first year they were there. Just ordered a cheese omelette, it came with home potatoes that tasted like they were from the day before, I would have liked something besides that but could barely understand the waiter. So my food was medioker but the service was way over the top, at least 3 or 4 different staff members stopped by our table to ask if we were okay or if we needed more coffee, $ 3.00 for coffee I thought was high.2 people your looking at about $ 30.00 or more. I still want to try lunch or dinner some day to get a better idea on the food.

First time at this joint and it started off by being greeted by Sean(the manager) and we were told to sit anywhere we’d like. It’s great that they open at 7:00am for early birds like us. I must say the hot, fresh, and fluffy beignets set the tone for our morning. The best beignets I have ever had! They make the dough fresh every morning. Next came the fried chicken slider with mashed potatoes and gravy, and a side of country potatoes. We also tried the three meat sampler with fried chicken, catfish, and a hot link. The fried chicken was my favorite. The peach lemonade and sweet tea were both very good! I don’t even know where to start, everything was delicious and fresh. All the meats are made to order. We will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu. Adam was our server, he was really cool.

Came here for the first time for my friends birthday brunch. When I first walked in, the staff was friendly and up-beat. We sat outside which had a nice southern feel. There is a bar outside and plenty of TVs. The service was slow but we did have a large group of people so we didn’t mind too much. They had a pretty good unlimited mimosa deal which I love. I originally wanted breakfast, however the selection was unimpressive so I went with a pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato fries. Both were. okay. The sandwich was a bit dry. I may come here again just for sports and drinks.

I wish I could give this place a higher review, but unfortunately I can’t… I came in yesterday with a very large party for lunch. About 23 guests. And being someone who used to be a server, I sympathize with how hectic that can get. But still… One of us waited 30 mins to get a lunch menu, instead of a breakfast one. Ordered a bottle of champagne with OJ. They never brought out the OJ, our bday girl kindly went to the bar and got us some. Then we ordered food. The onion rings came out great, and on time. And my spinach, tomato, and egg biscuit came out in a timely manner, but looked like it had been sitting. Didn’t look fresh. So I ate maybe half of it. Then ordered a Bloody Mary. That was delicious! So it wasn’t all bad, but this rating is entirely based off of service. More team playing and organization could go a long way!

Yum yum yum! I’ve been here twice now, and both times I was very pleased! The first time was for brunch, and the second for dinner/trivia(Thursday nights is Trivia– highly recommended; we did pretty terribly, but we won a hat in one of the rounds!). For brunch I ordered the Yankee Spuds which was actually listed as a side, but it was plenty to eat as a meal. My friends got the fried chicken biscuit sliders and the pulled pork sandwich, and both seemed very happy with their food. We also split the beignets– mmm, also recommended :) For dinner we got Catfish Po Boy and the Lonestar burger with fried pickles, sweet potato fries, and fried okra, which also was all very good. Will definitely be back. Plus their beer selection is fairly good compared to all the other places I’ve seen around town!

I’ve stated it before that I am a fan of BBQ, and the Queen in my house, and there’s nothing more delicious than a hearty, southern meal that you can enjoy at the crack of dawn, or as the moon is rising. Where is that wonderful place? Why darlin, it’s Johnny Reb’s in the heart of Downtown Bellflower! And they are servin up some down home cookin that makes my heart sing and my tummy smile! Johnny Reb’s has been of favorite of mine for a long, long time. I used to frequent the LB location, til this one opened up. It’s closer to home and the service here is the best. See, they are quite proud of their 5 star Unilocal reviews, and they honestly earn those stars. The service is always wonderful and friendly. I’ve always been greeted with a smile and hello, no matter how freaking busy they are. Especially when I do my annual pie pick ups during the holidays. My stars, they get packed! Anyhow, last Thursday(11÷12÷15), I woke up randomly at 630 in the morning craving breakfast. Woke the bear up and told him what I wanted, and where I wanted to go. The man never fails to please, and within the hour we were parking at Johnny’s. I was so happy when we got there because we had the place to ourselves and the heat had just kicked on all the way and our server, Rachel was a freaking doll! That and I really loved her purple hair(^_^). We usually come for lunch or dinner but never breakfast, so we perused the menu for a few minutes, ordering a coffee for myself and a hot chocolate for him. Finally we decided on what we wanted and didn’t have to wait long for Rachel to stop by. I ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork omelette with the Yankee Spuds, and a biscuit, and the BF ordered the chocolate chip pancakes with sausage, and eggs sunny side up. I was curious to see how full the omelette would be, and I was pleasantly surprised because that baby was STUUUFFEEDD! It also had a tasty BBQ sauce inside and smothered on top. I eat my scrambled eggs with ketchup so this wasn’t much different(sauce wise with eggs, ya know?) but oh my was it sooo much more delicious!!! I inhaled half of it before I ever even touched my spuds. Which were delicious! I love that they used red potatoes and the sautéed mushrooms were actually good. The avocado on top was so fresh, I’m sure it had just been picked. It was mouthwatering and so filling! BF had the pancakes as he just had some oral surgery done and needed soft foods. The chocolate chips were mixed in to the batter, rather than thrown on top which I love because they don’t taste burnt! Super fluffy and soft, and he devoured all 3! I only got one bite! Lol. The eggs were cooked perfectly and he didn’t even add salt or pepper, a shocker! I even liked the bite I had(and i don’t do yolk. yuck). I ended up eating his sausages with the last of the BBQ sauce from my omelette and that was yummy too! Overall, I’ve always been a fan of Johnny’s. They do BBQ right, they do SOUTHERNBBQ right, the portions are hearty and filling, and the price is right for the huge plate you get. I was super happy that their breakfast didn’t disappoint as that was the first time we’ve done that, but it won’t be the last. I’ve got a whole new tasty menu to explore. Oh, and if you have fur babies ~ they have these giant dog bones for $ 20. They last quite a while, and my pup loves them! And their home made pies are available all day long, but make sure you order in advanced for the holidays cuz they always sell out(^_^)

Only the best for my tummy! After an 8 mile run a girl has to eat. I ordered breakfast which was delicious. My omelette had BBQ beef, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, bell peppers and cheese. Heavenly. Because I’m a fatty I also ordered the fried green tomatoes. So many pieces of bacon bits and just enough cornmeal. When you bite into them they are crunchy and great. Must try! The alcoholic side of me should have just ordered coffee but, coffee is no fun without chocolate liquor and Kahlua. Bartender was wonderful. Come on by and say hello to her. Her name is Ginnie

I Lllllooooovvvvvvve me some BBQ and this is one of the few places where I am able to enjoy it morning, noon and night! When I wake up some mornings I get an itchin’ for some warm comfort food. So I head on over here and grab myself some Johnny Rebs! I love starting my mornings here with a BBQ omlette with biscuit and gravy! Juicy meat drenched in bbq sauce with eggs and fresh, buttery fluffy biscuit smothered in gravy! Yummy! But sometimes I like to change it up and get the shrimp Creole cheddar grits, fried chicken sliders, catfish and eggs or Rajun Cajun omlette which consist of Louisiana sausages and eggs! For lunch I love the Blackened catfish Ceasars salad. Deliciously seasoned catfish grilled on top of a bed of romaine lettuce, and home made cornmeal croutons with a side of Ceasars dressing! So scrumptious! But sometimes I opt for the fresh green tomatoes pizza with pesto sauce, smoked tri-tip sandwiches– juicy tri tip on french bread, or BBQ Melt– Texas toast with cheddar ANDBBQMEAT, Smoked Turkey Sandwich(cranberry aoilo is bomb) or Yummy fried chicken and waffle(worth the wait)-juicy chicken fried to a golden crisp served with fluffy golden waffles! Yummmmmy! After a long day, I need to have a nice hearty meal at night which is why I love coming here for their rib combos, tri tip, brisket all oh so yummy juicy meat smothered in BBQ sauce with a side of mashed potatoes & gravy., mac and cheese and their amazing cornbread! Other times I opt for their Jambalaya, fried chicken and waffles with peppered syrup! Of course as we wait on our meal we need a starter which will usually be between fried pickles, okras, green tomatoes or onion rings. Let’s not forget to skip put on dessert! They offer pumpkin pie, pecan pie, peach cobbler, banana pudding and my favorite turtle beignet! Beignet with pecans baked in topped with ribbons of chocolate and caramel syrup sprinkled with pecans! Yasssss! Heaven in my mouth and belly! Now as for the venue itself, it is located in the heart of downtown Bellflower. Although there is many other businesses there is plenty of parking off street and in the parking lot in the back. And what’s that BBQ house feel without the red brick walls?! There is cute iron benches out front in the waiting area. When you walk in your are greeted by warm smiles. The inside is nice and cozy with benches and tables. Some nights there is black and white cartoons projecting on the back wall. They also have a gorgeous full bar and outside patio. Great place to take in the fresh air smell of bbq and just hang out. They have different check in offers and specials through out the year even bones for our fur babies. I love this place and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for some finger lickin good food!

Gotta say my second visit here more than made up for my previous visit. Took a group of friends here for a bday dinner and had reservations. I forgot our waitress’ name but she was awesome. Very energetic and had a sense of humor and had all the answers to questions on what food to get. I had the blackened catfish salad and it was the best I ever had. Portion was way more then I expected. For appetizers they ordered wings and boudin balls which were like Jumbayala stuff balls. Awesome tasting food. Their craft beer selection was great too as a bunch of us had their alpine Brewing hoppy birthday IPA on tap. It was Thursday so they had game trivia night where each table went against each other. Will definitely keep coming back here

Getting home at 5pm and with only one hour to spare, I rushed over to Johnny Rebs to check out their happy hour before 6pm. I like that the bar area is on the outside patio. It was warm during my visit but there was a nice breeze out so being outside was perfect. My mind was already made up for small plates so I ordered the pig n chips and the fried green tomato pizza with a Coor’s Lite. The pulled pork is delicious!!! On appearance, it didn’t look like much in terms of portion but there was a decent amount of pulled pork on top of the chips. The meat was soft and the BBQ sauce was very lite. If you’ve read my previous reviews, I can’t stand BBQ sauce that’s too over powering so this was great in my opinion. For the fried green tomato pizza… this was arguably the best veggie pizza I’ve had in quite some time. I love fried green tomatoes and having it in pizza form was even better. The crust was thin and the pizza was oozing with cheese that doesn’t take away from the flavor of the tomatoes. It’ll be tough to go back and try their other two pizza’s because I do want this pizza again but I also want to try the others which means I’ll have to end up ordering more than one when it comes to it. PIZZAFEAST! lol These two items alone were pleasing which brings my ranking to four stars for now. I’ll be making my way back for dinner, brunch and more happy hours. That delicious pizza for $ 7 and the beer prices are awesome! Happy Hour 9÷25÷2015

One of the great things about the soccer mom life, stumbling into unique restaurants in between games. Daughter and her friend were sweating profusely, after spending an hour and half playing soccer in the hot sun, and needed air conditioning STAT. We drove over here at about 10:30am, for them to cool off, while husband and I grabbed some breakfast grub. Parking: Found free street parking right up front, but there was parking behind building, too. Ambiance: Think of rustic, country café. They had seating outside on the patio, but the girls wanted air conditioning, so we grabbed a wooden booth. Walls had Gone with the Wind & Plantation pics. Nice! Service: We were greeted quickly and brought drinks. Throughout our meal, server was attentive and we had excellent service. Drinks: Girls had water & a diet coke served in a huge mason jar. Mom & Dad? Spicy Bloody Mary & Mimosa. Drinks were good enough, but nothing special. Food: South of the Border Omelette(comes with a side and for extra I got the Fried Green Tomatoes). Omelette was good, with good chunks of better quality beef. But the Fried Green Tomatoes were Great! Everyone had to have a bite at the table(there were 4 slices). The Tomatoes were served with a Remoulade sauce to dip the tomatoes in. Yum! With Unilocal Check-in you get a Peach Cobbler Biscuit which the girls snacked a bit on. They stuck with fruit cups since they had another game to play. Husband had Fried Chicken Biscuit w/Gravy. Didn’t get to try a bite, but I’m gonna venture to say it was good, cuz it was gone fast. Overall, fantastic spot to grab breakfast.

Johnny Rebs’ definitely stands out among other businesses within the city of Bellflower. There are several fast food eateries as well as restaurants that serve anything from classic American food to ethnic foods that exposes people to new cultures. However, Johnny Rebs’ focus is on down home southern cookin’ with generous servings. The establishment itself is small which allows for a more intimate gathering among friends and family. There’s an outdoor dining area which faces Bellflower Blvd and you can enjoy fresh air while people watching. The indoor dining area was reminiscent of Bourbon Street in Louisiana! The tables are small and placed near each other but not to the point where it’s uncomfortable sitting next to strangers. The wall is adorned with license plates from various states, black and white photos of what appears to be family, as well as crafty artwork. Peer toward the bathrooms and you’ll see large black wrought iron gates that you’ll walk through to on your way to the restrooms. I’ve been to New Orleans and the entire décor/set up brought back memories! You get to choose your own table and then your waitress/waiter will review the menu with you. The menu features Items that one may have heard or read about but yet the opportunity to taste them had not occurred until now! Maybe you’ve read a little book about«fried green tomatoes» or you’ve been curious to try: fried okra, cheddar grits, hush puppies, or jambalaya! This is your opportunity to venture outside of your comfort zone to try something that is very common in other parts of the U.S. I ordered the catfish and they serve it either fried or blackened. I chose to have it fried with corn meal batter because that’s how my family makes it! With your meal, you can choose to have a buscuit, hush puppy(fried corn bread), or regular corn bread. After that, you get your choice of two side dishes aka fixins! Since the mac n cheese had pork in it, I chose French fries and mashed potatoes. As I waited for my dinner, I enjoyed a tall serving of strawberry soda served in a mason jar! It was delicious. When my plate arrived, I was impressed with the generous amount of food displayed in front of me. My catfish was evenly coated with cornmeal and fried to a crisp. When I took my first bite, I really liked how it was crisp in the exterior and soft and delicious in the center. It definitely wasn’t under or over cooked at all. The buscuit tasted like it was made from scratch. They definitely didn’t use Busquick! The potatoes were light and fluffy. I don’t eat French fries often because I like to focus on eating healthy but I couldn’t resist these ones. They were definitely made to order as they still had the skin on them! Who doesn’t love skin on their French fries? Sadly, I could not finish my meal because nowadays, I can’t consume large amounts of food in one setting. However, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.
Our waitress and possibly the owner or manager checked on us regularly to ensure that we were satisfied with our meal. We never had to flag down our waitress as she was always readily available. Upon paying the bill, we were also presented with a feedback sheet so that we could rate our overall experience and offer suggestions for improvements. Honestly, there was no room for improvement because everything was spot on! I look forward to another visit to Johnny Rebs’ in the near future because I’m still curious about the Bourbon Glazed Salmon! If you feel like enjoying some down home Southern cookin’ this is the place for you. The prices are reasonable and you’ll have left overs to share with family. You can’t go wrong with Johnny Rebs’!

I’ve patronized the Johnny Reb’s location in Long Beach multiple times, and finally had a chance to check out this location. So much bigger thanthe Long Beach location, and I love the covered patio area. Came here for breakfast, and left out feeling gooooood! I ordered the vegetarian omelet with country potatoes and home-made biscuit. Oh so good. What helped was having an awesome waitress. Adriana was very attentive. Although it was breakfast hour, I couldn’t leave without ordering dessert. Luckily, I remembered to check in before leaving– what do you know, free peach cobbler when you check it. «Well don’t mind if I do!» Got my free drop biscuit peach cobbler. I was straight, until I got home and opened up the container. About 3 spoonfuls of biscuit and a galore of peaches. I like a lot of crust and just a little of peaches. It was good, yet I was so annoyed. Welp, next time I will have to specify more crust and less peaches.
