My fav consignment shop in Bellingham & Kirkland! Love the staff! They really do have the best selection of brand name and designer consignment clothing as well as new items! Must see!

Isn’t it funny how something like a consignment shop can mean so much more than just a place to buy clothing? One day a couple of years ago I was wandering the streets of Fairhaven with the hubby and, as usual, I was drawn to the tempting rack of «on sale» clothing displayed on the sidewalk outside of Serendipity. But what really caught my eye was this GORGEOUS white London Fog trench coat hanging inside. I grabbed the hubbarino and dragged him in there to buy me that beautiful coat. Because, dearest Unilocalers, this was not just a coat: it was a WHITE coat. And it was a sign that, after nearly two decades of motherhood, my kids were no longer running at me with ketchuppy fingers and chocolatey lips. Yes, a color that I’d been avoiding like the plague could now be mine to claim again. So I bought the coat (it was a little pricey… I think I told the hubs it could be my bday gift that year), and from then on Serendipity has, for me, been one sign that I’ve successfully raised my kids.
But (in case you didn’t notice) I digress!
Serendipity is a small little consignment shop that packs a real punch. They carry only women’s clothing, and you can tell when perusing the racks that they are very choosy about what items they accept. Everything is clean, unblemished, and many of their items carry name-​brand labels. They also have nice accessories like jewelry, shoes, purses, and scarves. Their prices are a little on the high side, but that’s not unexpected in trendy Fairhaven. They are super friendly, too — the lovely lady who works there is just delightful. I told her my white coat story and we talked about our kids being in college… it’s always nice to forge motherly bonds!
So maybe you will or won’t have a Transformational Life Realization when you go to Serendipity. But it’s still a really fun place to shop!
P. S. Going on two years since I bought that coat and it STILL doesn’t have a ketchup stain on it!

What a fun store, with some super designer pieces on consignment. My kid found a Burberry zip-​up sweater for $ 25 and it looks great on her and she’s thrilled as punch. She and I also found some really nice, new tops in their retail, tags-​on section, but they were actually pricey (for her, a bohemian peasant top for $ 40. For me, a sleeveless blue tank that fit perfectly, but for $ 36. For those prices, we could find great tops at Macy’s or even some departments at Nordstrom’s). I also really liked some of the necklaces here, but they seemed to start at $ 28, and I thought that was high for these pieces.
I’m giving an extra star for the incredibly nice lady who works here. She was lovely. When my kid and I saw items we were interested in but balked at some of the prices, she readily checked if she could discount the prices further (saying after «x» amount of time on consignment there, she could lower the prices). She really wanted to help us out, seeing that we were on a budget and all. (Darn it, how those tops we loved so were not consignment pieces! Just our luck).
There was a gorgeous neoprene-​like black designer dress that the lady said she could halve the price on, and I would’ve gotten it except I already have enough dresses (and I’m not really a «dress» person anyhow). But I was tempted, and how nice of the lady to offer to lower the price. (I think it would’ve been $ 35. A steal, for sure!).
Super place, and we will be back for sure when we are next in town!

I like this store so much I went in twice in one day!!! I bought quite a few pieces of jewelry and I can’t wait to wear them! I am happy to see that they have a store in Kirkland, which is much closer to where I live, but will definitely be back to this location next time I’m in Bellingham.

Oh gosh I have nothing but good stuff to say about this place… One day I was walking by and saw the cutest dress/​shirt ever! My husband refused to buy it for me until I convinced him over an hour drive why he should get me the dress… well it worked and when we got home he let me call the store ask them if they would ship it and they did. I love it! And hopefully I get to come back soon and shop in person!

I love going here! Every time I go here I find a great dress. The have a great selection of women’s clothes. Always in good condition. Usually the dress look brand new. I always stop by here when I am in Bellingham.

Love, love Serendipity Consignment Boutique in Fairhaven! The mix of new and consigned clothes and accessories makes for a awesome shopping experience. The price point is «spot on.» I love the «at home» feeling of the shop and really appreciate how nicely I am treated when I shop there. I have been back three times already!!!
