Some things never change and this place continues to be a place to go where your ribs will ache at the end of the night from the laughter. It’s dark, dingy, and crowded everything you’s want a comedy club to be. The comedians were great all delivering great dialogue with unique style. The food is about what you’d expect at a local tavern but it was edible and filling. A great time was had with some good friends ***For the best seats get there early***

Great time Saturday night seeing two top flight comedians, Noah Gardenswartz, and the headliner, Mike Vecchione. Laughed so hard I cried. Everyone in the place was crying. Nothing beats good comedy. Yes, you’re packed in pretty tight, and no, the food is nothing special — typical bar food — burgers and fried stuff — but the drinks are good and strong(I had a couple of LI iced teas), and the waitstaff tries hard. The crowd was revved up and the two comics really delivered. Nice change of pace and a lot of fun.

The place was too small, which is okay unless you need to use restroom, then it’s like climbing over people that have jammed you in because the tables are too close to each other. Now for the service which was terrible. We got nachos that were supposed to have cheese and salsa and sour cream on them but half of them didn’t. For eight dollars I think they should have been more attentive to that. Next thing didn’t get any silverware, asked the waitress and she seemed annoyed that we were bothering her. The only good thing I can say about this club is the Martinis were very good. I like governors in Levitown much better

Two drink minimum is annoying. But after complaining about lack of notice on that, the owner pulled us aside and gave complimentary tickets to another show. Chris Monty show was hilarious, the waitresses were rude and the prices were okay. Three stars though because of the manager and the main act. Would recommend if looking for a fun comedy night.

This is a fun place. They bring great national comedians and even the locals are fun. Its easy to get to and the staff is very curtious

Dirty restrooms, seating uncomfortable. Good comedy and great service. Drinks seemed watered down, stick to bottled beer.

The two star rating is not for the entertainment or their table service. The entertainment is always great and service is attentive. But I swear they water down the drinks. There’s a two drink minimum, you may as well get soda. Also the place is filthy; everything is sticky. I don’t even want to know what squishy mess I stepped into on the carpet leading into the ladies room… which by the way, the stalls have no working latches. Though there was plenty of hot water and soap! Oddly enough… I would go back for the laughs.

We were there last night for a benefit. It was much nicer than some of these comments would have led me to believe. The food is OK, not great, but no worse than I would have expected in a venue such as this. The comics were hysterical. We had a lot of fun.

We had free admission b/c a friend of ours was on their mailing list, so all we had to do was purchase drinks. They offer a good selection of bar food and drinks/cocktails. I just had bottled beer $ 7. The service was good and efficient. The show featured an opening act and their feature comic who was hilarious-so apx an hour and a half long.

Me &11 friends went to the Brokerage– Saturday/April 5, 2014, for friends birthday. Tickets cost us $ 25 to get in, $ 28 booked online– which most of us did– so they wouldn’t sell out, our check came out to almost $ 400 for some appetizers and drinks and I have to say the headliner that night was the worst I’ve ever seen! Not funny at all, didn’t even know what he was talking about! If the comedian was funny I would have had no problem w/the money spent, but I feel like it was a waste of my Saturday night and my $$$! Total rip off!!! They should make sure that the people they hire are actually comedians!!!

This was my first time here. The place is very small, very out dated and the bathroom was disgusting! I ordered a draft beer, which was not proper temperature(too warm). I will say the wait staff was friendly even though I had to hunt her down for another beer. Bottle of course because I couldn’t dare to drink another warm draft beer. The only thing that was exceptional was the talent on stage. I hope the owners do some remodeling and fixing for a more pleasurable experience.

get on the mailing list & you’ll get free tickets pretty frequently — but be prepared for a 2 drink minimum per person… overall not a bad place, somewhat tight seating & pricey drinks but friendly service & decent acts on the free nights, better known acts will cost you per ticket in addition to the drink requirement

I was ripped off at the door since I decided to buy my tickets at the door instead of online. I thought I would save the conv. fees but I was wrong. They charged me $ 5 each ticket as a door fee. It was horrible. They shouldnt charge fees at the door wtf? I didnt want to make a scene so I paid for it. The food was ok. I was there for a comedy show of course. The place is small cozy and the lights are too dim like its a club but anyway. 2 drink minimum which was fine. At the end of the show I asked for the check and guess what they rip you off again. 20% gratuity for 2 people???/really? those idiots have done it again!!! how about if the service sucked and you didnt like the waiter and food then what? do I still have to pay the 20%. 2 people around $ 150 food, drinks and tickets. 1st and last time! place is a rip off

This is one of the only remaining comedy clubs left, especially on the island. They usually bring in local comics but sometimes feature headliners and I always have a good time with friends here. It’s small enough to feel like you’re in the middle of the action but if you want to not be the butt of a joke you can sit in a corner table or further away from the stage. The food and drinks are okay but that’s not really the point of going. It’s just a cool way to have some laughs with friends and some light bar grub and feel like you’re doing something different. Staff is always friendly and it’s good not to have to go into Manhattan to get a laugh or two. They could probably use a bit of a «facelift» with the tables and so on but that sort of adds to the appeal somehow.

This comedy club isn’t bad. I’ve been here a few times with my sister and husband for some comedy events. The comedians I saw were hysterical, showing up here for the laughs was worth it for sure. The plus side is that even with a two drink minimum the bill at the end of the show isn’t really all that much, it’s fairly reasonable. Also if you sign up for their mailing list you will get a lot of mailings offering you free admission into the club which means all you end up having to pay for is the two drink minimum plus if you want any food. The food I’ve had there is decent, it’s not terrible but not outrageously wonderful. The down side which is why this place gets three stars despite the excellent comedy. It’s packed out as all hell. Every show I’ve gone to has been crowded and the space is pretty tight. This is just a personal preference I dislike being packed out with other people with barely any room to move around. I like my space and I tend to enjoy a place a little more if there’s not so many people around. Overall I would come back here again for the laughs, they do get excellent comedians in here that will have you laughing the whole night through for sure.

Over the years I have brought a lot of business to the Brokerage(and their other clubs, Governor’s and McGuire’s) however, our last experience was so bad that I don’t think I will be returning unless some changes are made. The last time my group was there, a table of older women were aggressive and rude to my guests. They were loud and obnoxious, they purposely banged into other people’s seats(including that of one friend who had had back surgery!), threw drinks at my friends and threatened them with physical violence. Despite the fact that numerous staff members witnessed this behavior, no one asked these women to behave or to leave. Nothing was done to protect my guests(or those guests around them) and their complaints were basically dismissed. I do not feel that the staff supported us in any way and felt very unsafe. This is very disappointing and disturbing. Threats of violence and actual physical altercations/assaults are not just annoyances, but crimes. What is the purpose of bouncers/security, if they do not protect paying guests and control the behavior of those being disruptive? If this had been a nightclub, these women would have been thrown out — so why were they not even spoken to? My guests received comp tickets for a future show, however they are apprehensive about EVER returning at all if this is the behavior they can expect from the Brokerage’s patrons and the poor level of service they can expect from the Brokerage’s staff.(Also these«comp» tickets weren’t actually complimentary. They include a $ 5 «service fee» at the door, in addition to the usual 2-drink minimum. That’s hardly going to make up for such a terrible experience.) I don’t know if it is their official policy to ignore this kind of behavior and condone physical threats and assaults… or is this was just gross negligence on behalf of the staff that was scheduled to work that evening. Regardless, it was unacceptable and I will not be returning unless I’m assured that it will not happen again.

i happen to be there on a night that was a benefit. the comedians lined up were AWESOME. There were 7 of them and I’d pay even more to see them, very funny. The establishment itself is nice — they cram you in, but they are in the business of making money I wasn’t thrilled with sitting on top of strangers. The menu left alot to be desired — all fried stuff with a cheese platter and thrown in to look healthy I guess. Again, we’re not there for a meal. Drinks were good, waitresses attentive, no complaints… except for the following: NOPARKING. there is a parking lot that holds about 12 cars. they have a valet, but about 45 min BEFORE showtime he dragged his sign away, valet parking was filled too. I parked about 1 block away, my companions weren’t so lucky. I DID watch the valet sideswipe a chainlink fence with someone’s shiny new while BMWSUV.(I left a note), Would I return? Maybe if someone ELSE was driving.

I Went once. Myspace had a Free secret showing of Adam Ferrara. It was a fantastic night for me and my girlfriend. The place is packed but so is every other comedy club you go to. The two openers were funny but what made this night so great is that the lights kept going out so most of the show was spent with the comics standing with Colman camping lanterns and no mic. As you can imagine it made for some great laughs. Adam Faerrara was outstanding and cracked on me and my girlfriend for a good 1520min and even called his wife to tell her about me and her and our line of work. At the end of the night he signed posters and took pictures with everyone. He was on stage well over what the limit was and kept it rolling with a ton of laughs. I will come back. 2 drink min is retarded but the show was free so I cant say much. Food was«okay». Drinks kind of lame.

A full house for Mr Oumarou! Came here to be entertained by my comedian husband and a troupe of newcomers to comedy. They do this«Stand-up University» which is impressive — in only 5 weeks, they put together a very funny show for ½ the cost of admission on a regular night! We were able to fit our group over two really dirty tables… good thing it was dark because I didn’t even want to know what was under the stained paper place mats! There’s a two drink minimum(very watered down drinks) and absolutely no reason to order food(Even the host kept saying«we’ll all go to a diner and do cocaine after»)(cocaine?). We had things like spinach dip, calamari, and jalapeño poppers which were served cold. But we weren’t there for the food anyhow — we laughed our a’s off and became comedians ourselves when observing the service and crowd. It was a fun-filled night and I will definitely go back for more shows! Admission is actually free when you sign up for their mailing list!

Comedy Club. I was sitting on my couch all cozy in my drawers watching something on National Geographic when some friends called me to come along to some Girl Scout fundraiser at this comedy club. I haven’t been to a comedy place in a long time, mostly because I crack myself up for less than the 2 drink minimum… but I have to say I had a blast here. The performers on the bill were funny, they had me rolling. The food offerings were solid if nothing spectacular. The drinks were surprisingly decent — so all in all I’m glad I got up and went. Bathrooms were clean and pretty good sized. I’d go again. Huge parking out front.
