This place stands out from your average Chinese take out if a few ways, but the food is just average. The restaurant looks much nicer than the average take out spot. They offer a whole section on their menu for salmon entrees, which I’ve never seen a Chinese take out do before. The problem is that the food is just average and they are a little more expensive than every other Chinese take out in the area.

Wanted to grab something quick and get home. I pulled up and they were mopping the floor so i thought they were closing but it was only 815pm. They weren’t. I ordered CHicken and cashew nuts and Hot and Spicy Szechuan Beef with white rice. I wasn’t sure what i wanted so i got the small portion of both. It was ready quick and its so nice to see a place where they actually smile and speak English. I got home and it was nice and hot. No peanuts at all in the beef oh well. Not spicy at all either but very tasty. I had a little of each some white rice and now im laying in bed about to watch some crappy tv with my sodium levels spiking and tummy full. Good night.

Great food. I always order take out from here. Ask for the house duck sauce and the house mustard. I’ve only had one thing here I wasn’t happy with, which was the lo mein– just tasteless, no flavor. But it also wasn’t greasy like most lo mein is, so that’s not a bad thing. Delivery for take out is usually extremely quick. I do live within a mile of the restaurant, so that’s a factor, but I do appreciate that even during the busy dinner hour I usually don’t have to wait more than 25 minutes for my food.

I tried this place recently based on a friend of a friend’s recommendation and liked it so much that I called in another order last night and travelled from 3 towns away in the hail to try it again, passing at least 5 other Chinese places to get there. Glad I did so!!! This has to be the best take out on Long Island. The pastrami egg rolls are a novelty and are very tasty(brought one to my neighbor who couldn’t thank me enough). The seafood spinach soup is delicious and loaded with shrimp, scallops and a little bit of lobster meat. The BBQ spare rib combination dinner was fantastic. I have been searching for good ribs and finally found them. While most places have skinny, overcooked ribs these are thick, juicy and loaded with flavor. The fried rice was so good it almost brought tears to my eyes. The steamed seafood dumplings are also worth trying. They are not the thick, doughy, chewy kind, rather they are flat with a delicate outer shell and a tasty filling. The sauce provided with them has a just a little kick and the taste makes your mouth water. The service was so fast, friendly and efficient that I can’t wait to go back and get more. If you’re in the area(or even if you have to go out of your way) stop by and try it.

Danny’s has become our new go to favorite take-out for Chinese. It has everything you want in an American-Chinese food take out place: Good food, lots of menu choices, reasonable prices, friendly and efficient service, and it looks very clean! The last one is one of the biggest selling points for me, a very CLEAN Chinese food take-out place, which is hard to find on Long Island. The place is usually very busy, but have never had a wait time of more than 20 minutes, and have never had to wait there for my food once I got there. Very efficiently run business operation. As for the food, in the year and a half we have been going there(usually at least once a month), we have never had a bad meal. My wife usually sticks with the classics like Chicken and Broccoli or General Tsao chicken(one of the best around). I am a big fan of the Gung Bo Chicken w. Peanuts(like Kung Pow Chicken), and the Roast Pork Egg Foo Young. Would recommend giving it a shot if you are in the area

OMG!!! If I could rate it under one star I would!!! I would have to say this is the worst!!! Chinese food I have ever experienced EVER!!! My friend ordered pork dumping they were burnt total Gross! I got a pastrami egg roll I tasted like dead cat!!! So I threw that away. We went on to my General Tso chicken all bread!!! No chicken Nasty was like a hush puppy. The fried rice was Ok, that is all out of the whole meal oh the Broccoli was good, lol so out of $ 37.00 I got good Broccoli most expensive vegetable I ever ate. We threw it away!!! And went to the Orient in Bethpage and spent another $ 40.00 so I spend $ 80.00 for dinner for two… Bottom line I can’t believe the crap people will make and other will buy… it was our first time and our last time we will ever go there!!!

Fresh. Tasty. Timely delivery. They did mess one up a couple of weeks ago but more than made up for it. Place is spotless and run like a well sesame oiled machine. Danny’s knows garlic and heat. I suggest you try X in Garlic Sauce. The Pan Fried Wontons in Garlic Sauce and the Mixed Vegetables in Garlic Sauce are two of my X’s and an absolute must. Best Chinese Takeout in the Bellmore Merrick area.

I’m happy we have a Chinese place nearby that is consistently good time and time again. Me and my family are a big fan of the staples. Tonight we had, among other things, the lo mein, chicken with broccoli, spring rolls, brown rice, and wonton soup. All four of us enjoyed. I ordered online which was super easy. I decided to get out and picked it up and I’m always impressed by how clean this restaurant is. Both the front and kitchen area. My order was waiting for me and the staff up front was very nice. Again all around great experience!

Chinese takeout joints are a dime a dozen here on long Island. Danny’s is not your typical Chinese take-out. OK, it may seem a little off that you’re speaking to American staff at a «Chinese» place called Danny’s, but let the food speak for itself. Surprisingly authentic and fresh, fast service with generous portions. I highly recommend their house-made duck sauce and Zoodles(lo-mein substituted with zucchini noodles). The owner Danny is always there to welcome you.

The fact that they have zoodle lo mein alone makes this place amazing! It’s zucchini lo mein and comes with your choice of veggies, shrimp or chicken. The flavor is great that honestly you don’t miss the noodles! They also have whole wheat dumplings(steamed or fried) which are really delicious as well! The food here is consistently fresh and delicious! I’ve gotten a lot of different items and the taste is never below par. They also have coupons in the local flyer which always helps! The portions are plentiful and the food is cooked quickly, even when orders are flying in. The staff is friendly and helpful when there are questions on menu items. I highly suggest this place for lunch or dinner!

Wow… not a great experience, prices are however reasonable. ordered lo mein with beef …literally just noodles and pieces of beef layered on top… NOSAUCE, NOVEGETABLES… so I checked the bottom figuring it wasn’t mixed… nope…NOTHING, just a pile of noodles… tried to eat these noodles with the plastic jello like forks they provide you .WOW…not to mention it was like a Russian bath house in there about 115 degrees… sweating /NO Fun /major disappointment. soda Luke warm also. so if your into sweating and eating tasteless noodles this is the place for you. that is 20 minutes of my life I’ll never get back

Though we don’t order chinese food often, we only order from Danny’s when we do. They have some nice options in regards to how you would like the dishes cooked, what sauces you would like, etc. I wished for some more heat on the food when I choose«Extra Spicy», however. The hot & sour soup is good as is the General Tso’s chicken. Take out speed is always fast and though the website ordering interface is not always functioning properly, I really like the concept.

I’ll start by saying I don’t eat meat/chicken/fish, but I still know good prep, service & good food. So if you’re a meat eater I cannot speak for that crap as I won’t go near it but don’t step aside yet since my observations & experience may still help — though I prefer you don’t eat meat anywhere. Just saying. ;-) That said, Danny’s is hands down the only Chinese food place which I’d prefer to step foot in around here. Anyone living in this area knows there are tons of Chinese food restaurants(among bagel places and pizzerias because we’re really diverse like that). If you’re picking up my sarcasm, that’s great! But on a serious note, I would rather not eat at any other Chinese food place yet I could eat here any time and not feel disgusting like I do at the other places. What I love: The broccoli and garlic sauce, and the vegetable rolls. If you’re vegan, go with these. They’re addicting. Other dishes I recommend are broccoli w/water chestnuts, snow peas, and any dish w/tofu though I don’t even think I’ve had tofu dishes here yet since I just love the other stuff. Try the veggie zoodle lo mein and hit me up afterward, I’ve reviewed it below. I always get a large broccoli and garlic sauce — I prefer they go light on the sauce but sometimes there’s still so much of it even if I ask them to go light… though it’s so good it doesn’t bother me all that much. I think it depends which chef is cooking and whether the staff actually relays that I don’t want as much sauce. But anyway I do get other things occasionally and I’ll get to that, but for now I can say I’m obsessed w/those dishes and even when I order additional food, I always get these. It’s standard. So why only 4 stars? I had the opportunity to try a fantastic dish that they have which is both healthier and NOT noodle-based, called Zoodle Lo Mein. Terrific concept, terrific flavor, but almost every bite had a crunch that didn’t belong which made me conclude that the veggies weren’t washed well enough. So, I stick to my broccoli and garlic sauce most days. But I do want to give that veggie Zoodle Lo Mein a try again because it really was good. Side note: because Danny’s generally has really good service, I have a hard time holding anything against them regarding mistakes etc. They’re just normal and understand good business practice where at other Chinese food places, if a mistake is made you won’t really get much of a concern about it from them. So I applaud Danny’s on this. They don’t really get things«wrong» though so don’t get that impression. Regrets: not ordering more vegetable rolls! They’re so f’ing good. Every time I only request 1 order of vegetable rolls I regret not getting more. Some times they are better than other times, as in they have more veggies. If I had 2 wishes they would be that 1) they consistently put enough vegetables in the veggie rolls and 2) I start remembering to get at least 2 orders of them. I’m not sure if these are actually made there or not but I still absolutely love them. Important bonus: This place seems CLEAN. You all know that you(and I) have eaten at some dumpy looking Chinese places around here and for some reason it didn’t affect us — well, it should. Nothing will make me go back to those places. You can’t pay me to. Sum: Switch from your normal Chinese food place if you have one, and go to Danny’s. At LEAST give it a try and taste what normal food is like again. The food really is fresh and tastes it, you will feel relieved by the cleanliness of the place and the good service. And if you get that Veggie Zoodle Lo Mein, let me know how it was, drop me a note! Sometimes places do have an «off» day after all. ***update*** bumped up to 5 stars because I again ordered the veggie zoodle lo mein recently and it was amazing. So I guess it makes up for the time before!

High Quality Food | Large Portions | Clean and Professionally Run Once again the Unilocal reviews are on target. There are 10 Chinese takeouts in a 1.5 mile radius from my house. I never tried this one so I took the plunge. This review is based on 3 visits. Ribs: the spare ribs are unique regarding the amount of meat on the rib. Unlike most other spare ribs, Danny’s have more meat than bone not vice versa. I really like the ribs. A large spare ribs and a large fried rice is enough to feed 4 people. Roast pork Chow fun was savory and moist, not slippery or slimy like you get at other take-out joints. The lo-mein had a pleasant smoky flavor and a lot of meat. Chicken and broccoli was also good equally large percentage of meat. General Tso chicken was crispy, not gooey and not too sweet. I called in an order for 10 people on a Friday night at 7:00. My food was ready for pick up 25 minutes later. There was enough food for 15 people. Danny, the owner, is an accountant who left the rat race to open a restaurant. He has an online ordering system and if you take the LIRR, you can call from the train and he will deliver it to you at the train station when your train comes in. He has 3 or 4 Asian chefs cooking the food and people who speak English as a first language on the phones and cash registers. There are multiple cash registers like at Wendies or Taco Bell so the line moves fast and orderly. Even on weekend night the place runs like clockwork. If you read any of my previous revues, you know that cleanliness is very important to me. Danny’s is very clean. I will repeat

I went with my wife yesterday to Dannys Chinese kitchen for lunch. We ordered two lunches of boneless spare ribs chicken lo mein, two soups and a egg roll. Both the wonton and wonton egg drop soup were great as well as the crispy noodles that came with the soup. The egg roll was OK but rather pedestrian. The main dishes of chicken lo mein and the boneless spare ribs were both very good as was the included fried rice and the portions were rather large. The restaurant itself was clean and very airy and has several tables to eat at. I met the owner who was very friendly and accommodating. The price to value ratio here is about average for this type of restaurant. I will go back here again even though it is quite a distance from us.

I was underwhelmed with our take-out order. For myself, I ordered beef with broccoli. I was disappointed to find absolutely no white rice was packaged in our order despite the menu specifing that white or brown rice was included with each entrée. The entrée itself was awfully greasy and oily. There was practically a soup of goop. It was unappetizing to look at how the oil had separated from their brown, gravy-like sauce. I also tried some of the pork fried rice as well as a citrus flavored chicken(likely a lemon or orange chicken). The pork fried rice was the only item which was good which had some grilled onions and scallions adding flavor. The chicken had a very thick fried dough layer; a couple pieces were nearly half dough and half chicken. Overall, I would be very hesitant to order takeout from here again. I’m sure many folks will enjoy this style of cooking. Unfortunately, it’s just not for me.

Danny’s Kitchen is not your typical Chinese take-out joint. Yes, the food is Americanized but it tastes like real food. My boyfriend and I have tried several things from here just within the past week. It’s our go-to takeout place. We’ve had chicken and broccoli, ribs, and sesame chicken. The egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had. All the rice is good but especially the fried rice. What separates Danny’s Kitchen from other Chinese restaurants is that the food is not greasy and over-fried. I’m not saying its necessarily healthy, but for Chinese food-it’s as fresh as it gets. The portions and prices are standard. They also have an awesome online ordering system that gives you tons of options and always works. You can specify your order down to the type of sauce you want on your dish. The garlic sauce is my favorite. They’ll even deliver to your train stop… which is pretty awesome if you’re in a rush. The actual restaurant is clean and has a few tables if you want/need to eat there. If you’re looking for great, convenient Chinese take-out, look no further.

The inside is modern and clean. The up front staff is super sweet and attentive. The egg rolls are delicious! BUT the sesame chicken was dark red and spicy. Not a traditional recipe. They do give you an enormous portion for the combination plates though. Willing to try another item on the menu because the egg roll was THAT good.
