We love Belmont Toys. Nancy and her crew and that work there are kind, helpful and more than accommodating to me and my kids when we come in. What’s great is that they gift wrap too and that’s a good thing for a dad like me. Those that complain about the price should shop at Walmart. You pay for what you get and you get what you pay for. Support your local business!

What a bummer. Belmont Toys is CLOSED. They were the best. I got all of my unusual and fun gifts for kids here. Very sad that a great toy store can’t make it.

Cute and clean, but it has totally outrageous prices. I admit they have some unusual toys and some imports, but there is nothing I couldn’t get a relative to mail me from overseas for less including shipping. A lot of items can be had on Amazon for much less as well.

This is a great local store and a family-run business. They have a wide selection of European import toys — lots of playmobil, for example. A good selection of dolls. Lots of Calico critters. Good selection of toys for babies; fabulous for toddlers. Also impressive selection of board games and puzzles. Huge variety of those kits for art projects(like«sewing» or making jewelry or using sticky squares to make mosaics on a pattern or making watches or making picture frames etc etc). Also lots of stocking-stuffer/goody-bag sized items. Very similar in terms of selection to the Henry Bear’s franchise. Also carry Steiff. They do NOT carry things like: Littlest pet shop or pokemon. Very few books. If you can find the things they have somewhere else, they’ll be cheaper somewhere else — but that’s generally irrelevant because YOUCAN’T FIND A LOTOFTHISSTUFFANYWHEREELSE. Always a pleasure to shop here.

Great local toy store with unique toys and games that you are not going to find at Target or a big box store. Yes, they are pricey but no more so than other stores carrying the same type of toys(for example Henry’s Bear Park). I am partial to gifts that will occupy little minds(and fingers) and Belmont toys carries a good selection of activity type gifts(magic kits, science sets, arts and crafts projects). Customer service is wonderful, they help you find exactly what you need put a huge smile on the face of little(and not so little) kids and they gift wrap. Support a local business and get something fun and out of the ordinary when you shop at Belmont Toys.

Yes Belmont Toys is pricey. But you are also getting incredible variety and friendly and knowledgeable sales help. This store has unusual games, puzzles, craft kits, miniature soldiers, model kits, knight costumes, playmobile, books, science toys, windup toys and more, all in a regular store space — I hyperventilate thinking about it! When I need a stuffed penguin(and NOTHINGELSEWILLDO) they have one. Lately they’ve been kind of ight on LEGO, and I don’t know if they’re just low on stock or cutting back. I have always found what I needed at Belmont Toys, even when I didn’t know what I was looking for. If you’re on their mailing list they have weekly specials on selected brands around the holidays.

Wow, just like everything else in Belmont, this toy store is completely overpriced. It’s still fun to walk through, and there’s a great selection of wind up toys to choose from. I knew Belmont Toys was pricey, but I went ahead and purchased some developmental toys for baby girl. After getting home, I had to check on Amazon to see just how badly I had been raped, and Belmont Toys was about 25% more. I guess after S&H, it might have evened out. What-ev.

Cute! One of the first places I popped into on my first walk through Belmont Center late last August. They had a lot of new, fancy games, but also had a lot of the old staples that I haven’t seen around much these days. If you live nearby, I demand you go down and buy Apples to Apples. Then drop me a line and thank me. We can meet downtown and play sometime. My roommates and I had a grand old time taking a trip down memory lane, but the rich parents, young and older alike, didn’t seem to approve. This is a store for CHILDREN! There should be NO joy here! I initially was going to give it 3 stars instead of 4, but I suppose they can’t exactly turn away people at the door for finding laughter to be inappropriate in public.

Nestled on the little strip of Leonard Street that passes for Belmont Center is Belmont Toys. This is a great spot to find unusual games and toys, not the stuff you can find at Target, etc. The prices are a little on the steep side, but there is value to be had if you look. They carry a terrific line of games made by Gamewright, which is based right next door in Watertown. They have a huge selection of crafty kits, and a nice variety of puppets and dolls. There are bins loaded with koosh balls, little plastic geckos, dice, cars, and everything you need to stuff your holiday socks. The folks inside are knowledgeable about everything they sell, and are happy to answer your(and my) inane questions. Don’t let the upscale parents carting around their crying genius children bum you out. Instead, play with the toys. Buy something for yourself. Be happy.
