Dari-Ripple

Mom and pop style ice cream and sandwich shop right on the river. My son and I stopped in for cyclones, their version of a DQ blizzard. They have around 10 different to choose from like ‘smores’ which is vanilla ice cream with small marshmallows, crumbled graham cracker and chocolate shavings. Damn good! You can also create your own cyclone from a long list of toppings. My kiddo dove head first into a chocolate ice cream with M&Ms combo which he inhaled proper. Plenty of parking, bench table seating in back and prices are below the corp ice cream joints. Cool place.

Beats driving to Rockford to go to Dairy Queen
I think that Our Belvidere (Dari-​Ripple) may even be better.
My Wife loves the twist cone and I like plain vanila soft serve in a waffle cone.

My big group came here after the Belvedere Park Pool closes due to lightning. They were able to take our orders and bring them out in a timely manner, which was impressive. We had a big group and there were a couple of other big groups.
I ordered the Brownie Delight Cyclone (blizzard, but they call it a cyclone). It was pretty good, but I just wish that I got more for what I payed for ($ 4 for about the size of a cup for a medium drink at McDonald’s). I also thought the brownies were a bit dry.
But my girlfriend got a huge mint chocolate chip ice cream cone — two scoops. It was already a massive cone, and there was an option for 3 scoops. The 2 scoop cone was only $ 3, which I think is a fair deal considering the size. My girlfriend really liked it. I think that I will come here again and get a huge cone. Looks definitely worth the money. There’s also many other things you can get — soft serve cones, sundaes, smoothies, etc.
