I’m lukewarm about Déjà Vu. Primarily because of the service. That said, Roger who works back in the showroom is a new discovery for me and very, very helpful. I’ve been checking out Deja Vu since we moved here eight years ago. I’ve bought several pieces here over the years. They have a large retail space with a good selection. The prices are not great, they are okay but not great. The way the store is organized while makes sense, is not visually appealing. Is that a big deal? Not really, but it certainly doesn’t have any of the allure of a full price furniture store. Historically,(before my discover of Roger) the service was lackluster. No greeting upon entering the store(a pet peeve of mine) and then once you head back to the warehouse you are on your own. No one around to ask questions, help, etc. The lighting could be improved, sometimes, especially back in the dining and bedroom area it’s pretty dark. Hard to really see what’s going on and god forbid you venture into the mattress section. Forget about trying to see what’s going on there. Bottom line for me is that an average, everyday nightstand of $ 129 is too much. I’m thinking $ 60. And 10 seconds of someone saying«hi» and asking if they can help me with anything goes a long way.

Over the last 17 years, I have had mixed experiences with Deja Vu. They have always sold high quality items but I never made much of a connection with the people & felt they were overpricing. However, today confirmed all of my more positive feelings about the store. Yesterday I purchased a gorgeous leather ottoman for a screaming deal. Staff were all helpful, kind & gave great service. Helped me load it into my husband’s truck. Much to my dismay, I had miscalculated the size & it looked horrible in our living room. I called this morning fully expecting the answer to be, «the sign says all sales are final» but was pleasantly surprised the lighthearted response was, «no problem bring it back before the end of the day.» I went & got it, took it to Deja Vu, was assisted unloading it back into the store & treated with the utmost grace getting my money back. Even in light of my forgetting the receipt, they looked up my transaction. I could not be more impressed — this is what doing business in Bend should be. Highly recommend.

I have been both a buyer and a seller here. I have gotten great quality and great prices. Customer service was excellent.

After asking for a place to buy a bedroom mirror, we got high recommendations to visit De Ja Vu. Before leaving, I have checked my fellow Unilocalers reviews(so thank you guys for sharing…), I honestly walked in with low expectations as far as greeting crew. I was pleasantly surprised to meet Lianne, what an amazing woman. So warm, knowledgable, patient and really trying to hear out the customers needs. Unfortunately today we didn’t find the piece we were looking for, however, Lianne wrote our needs down, and promised to call. Basically, this review is for Lianne who made our day, Thanks Lianne :)

My overall experiences with Deja Vu have been good enough ones to say I am a fan for certain things. Popping in there this week, for the first time in a long time, made me think to do a Unilocal review as in my experience the store deserves better than the two stars currently posted. AS A SELLER: When my hubby and I first moved to Bend, nearly fifteen years ago, we had up-end furniture to sell. All in great shape, some nearly new, but not what we wanted for our new Bend home. What works in the SF Bay area, our old stomping ground, in a traditionally styled home didn’t necessarily work here. We sold some of it through our then interior designers who in turn sold it to some of their other clients. And some we consigned through Deja Vu. Which was at the time perhaps the only resale shop in Bend. We were happy enough with the experience of consigning there. But not so happy for customer service or follow up that we didn’t look elsewhere when other consignment options became available. And for that reason, once Redeux opened, we started doing business with them for the things we have since sold.( ) Which doesn’t make Deja Vu a bad place for our experience, just that for the match between sales shop and seller, Redeux has been a better fit for us. Different strokes and all. AS A BUYER: In the meantime, we have recently been in search mode for a piece of furniture, a bench to use in a guest room, for which we’d be very happy to find a consigned piece, were the price right, to have refinished and reupholstered. With that in mind, my husband and I both recently toodled into Deja Vu this and we remembered all the things there were to like about this as an option if you’re looking for furniture at a resale shop. 1) It is clean, brightly lit, well organized and fully accessible for all shoppers. Level in, also with a good ramp added between the main store and the larger sales warehouse space in the back to easily accommodate everyone and for the most part 36″ wide aisle spaces everywhere to make furniture browsing possible and easy. Good for them for realizing the benefit to their bottom line of universal access like this. Not all resale shops in Bend yet«get it». 2) They have a mix of lightly used furniture, only things in generally good repair, to even new furniture. In fact, as we were in the store yesterday they were explaining to a would be consignee why they did not take damaged pieces.(There are places in Bend which do, but that is an entirely different audience of seller and buyer.) And it was because we knew of their policy of accepting only good condition pieces that we thought to add Deja Vu to our search for the bench for which we’re looking. 3) Prices for most of what they have for sale seem from reasonable to bargains to us. Some things, coming to the end of their lifetime in the store, are marked way down. As example, a dresser marked for $ 58 or dining chairs marked at $ 12 each. 4) They have a smattering of antiques, although having once been in the amateur biz of buying, repairing and selling antique furniture, I observe while the pieces had potential, none were really great specimens. But reasonably priced for what they were. 5) They have perhaps one of the best assortments of lamps and framed art in the resale trade shops in Bend. 6) They have tape measures set on tables throughout the store. Hooray! Just the ticket when you’re forgot your own. BOTTOMLINE: I’d lean to agree with the previous reviewer who said the staff doesn’t’ fall over themselves to greet customers or ask how they can help. But that’s fine with me because I know how to ask for help if I need it. All in all, we left saying Deja Vu would be on our«to go» list among other Bend resale store options if we were looking to buy.

This place carries over priced used furniture. Most of what is there is in fair to good condition, however, generally way over priced. The staff is just OK, not very helpful, and not many smiles. You never feel welcome, simply tolerated. I generally don’t waste much time in there unless I am looking for something particular. No Mid Century Modern or Danish Mod. Just normal everyday over priced furniture.
