Walked in with some previous experience from years past. Instantly, was greeted by employees who new what they were talking about. I was catapulted into the 21’st century and I liked it! Real straight knowledge from riders who know how to ride and have a passion for what they do. From weekend warriors to seasoned pro’s this shop is dialed. Add all of this to the biggest brands in the business and you have Hutch’s Bicycles. Real. Sweet. Rides. It’s what they do.

We rented bikes for a day while visiting Bend. We received great service and prices. They were also very knowledgeable telling us where to ride and what to do!

Brought my bike in because I popped a spoke while on vacation. I also had them shift my crank because I didn’t quite have the spacing right after switching back to 2×10 from a 1×10. Also, asked them to do a once over for a race that is coming up. Got the bike back and the mechanic proceeded to go down the list of things that were«wrong» with my bike. Just about the only thing that was genuinely wrong was that I had mistakenly mounted the inner chain ring backwards. The chain was haphazardly lubed and not even close to being wiped down appropriately. The $ 40 bb realignment was a joke. It wouldn’t shift into the big ring without pushing the chain off — into the cranks. When trying to ride in the granny gear it rubbed like crazy on the inner portion of the front dérailleur. The«mechanic» must have just eyeballed the job without making sure he actually did a good job. It was worse than when I gave it to them. I spent an hour or so the next morning fixing it myself. I will never go to this shop again. The only reason it gets two stars is because they got the job done the same day.

I bought my bike here a couple years ago. I am very happy with the help I got selecting it. With great explanations of features and differences between all the models. I feel I ended up with the best fit for my type of riding. The shop has also been great with the yearly tune ups. I have consistently gotten my bike back on time and in great shape. I have also gotten a couple of small upgrades recommended by them, like a new front tire(Butcher). Great recommendation… I was so happy with my last visit to Hutches that I actually got them a six of Mirror!

Stopped by Hutch’s shortly after arriving at a bus station behind their shop. They rent bikes and I considered renting. Anyway, I ended up having a quick chat with Matt about bikes, Bend and life back east. I appreciated the welcoming conversation; it got me off to a good start in town. When I return, I’ll definitely stop by Hutch’s.

A group of friends was just in town for a Cog Wild Tour and rather than travel with bikes we rented through Hutch’s Westside which turned out to be about the SMARTESTTHING I’VEEVERDONEINMYLIFE! Hutch’s was awesome! Tristan and Scotty totally took care of us, rented us great 29er all-mountain rigs and made sure they were tuned and all set for us upon arrival. Really, really good bikes too! That intense Carabine 29er was the perfect machine to eat up the trails around Bend and McKenzie. Thank you Tristan, Scotty and everyone at Hutch’s for making our trip and rides so wonderful. You guys are the best!

Good quick service when we had a flat on our stroller tire… But the workmanship of the repair sucked. Tire was flat again in a few days and our hometown bike shop said the previous repair failed to notice the tire was bad and not seated against the rim correctly. I don’t recommend this place if they can’t do a simple repair on a tire!

We were in town for the weekend and I am not an experienced bicyclist. I wanted to rent some townies for writing around town, and the people at hutches were super nice and very helpful. While they didn’t have the bike that I wanted in their store they helped me get one delivered from another store, so that I could have it for the next day. Even though I felt a little self-conscious about going into a high-end bike store when I’m not a good rider, everyone was so nice and I felt no judgment. I would highly recommend them if you’re in Bend for the weekend and looking to rent some bikes.

We got excellent service when we demo’ed a bike and then when we ended up purchasing a bike. Elizabeth was very helpful and knowledgeable. Their prices were very reasonable, we had done our research, and everyone was really nice.

Best bike service that I have ever experienced, period! I vacation in Bend frequently and anytime that I have had a mountain bike issue, they have always fit me in to keep me out on the trails.

Don’t try to borrow a tire pump. Sheesh! The one guy who tried to help got in trouble from his boss. Each experience has left much to be desired in terms of customer service and friendliness.

Took some hex wrenches back that we’re new and never used. Return policy is apparently no returns over three months. My purchase was made just over four months ago. I was offered in-store credit. We are buying a set of family bikes this summer. Two adults, three kids. That is more than 5 months away. If you can’t work with me on something as trivial as a month for a $ 25 return, how can I trust that I’ll have credit this summer or if you’ll remind me in case I forget when I make a $ 4k purchase? Bad service = customer loss.

We were in Bend for the Memorial Day weekend. After we settled in to our little cottage, we noticed that we needed a little tiny part for the Mountain Bike to hold the front fender on. Luckily, we were very close to Hutch’s. They were friendly and knew exactly what we needed. They even suggested some trails we might like to check out. If you need to rent bikes, they have those too!

I bought a bike yesterday and went back today for some accessories. The staff was helpful and friendly and they remembered my name when I returned today. The prices are reasonable and the staff is wonderful — even during a really busy holiday weekend.

I’ve had mixed experiences with bike repairs here! This was my go-to for a the past couple years for tune-ups, tube/tire replacements, etc. They have always been prompt, reasonably priced, and their staff are pretty darn charming, if I may add! Recently, however; I had quick fix quoted at «by the end of the day» that took days to resolve-all due to a part that simply needed to be shipped to the Westside location from the Eastside. When I called 2 days later they were still waiting for the part?! I was almost ready to drive to the Eastside, pick up the part myself, and bring it to the Westside so I could just get my bike back! I will say that I got my bike back in very good shape on day 4, and it did seem like they had put a little extra love into it, chain oiled, tires pumped up. So I’m not writing them off by any means, but this one experience makes me wary.

A bike shop with bad attitude!!! My boyfriend and I are visiting from San Diego. We have found it helpful to visit a local bike shop to find out the best rides. Unfortunately that wasn’t true when we went to Hutches. When I asked the owner, John, to suggest some bike rides he pointed to the maps I should buy for that information. I again asked if maybe he could suggest a good road or mountain bike ride and he just shook his head. I asked him if we should ride to Mt. Bachelor and he said that wasn’t a good ride, the roads were bad and the views werent great. I could now see that the owner had some attitude and wasn’t going to be very helpful. I tried talking with another employee in the bike shop and he had the same attitude. We then left the bike shop and fortunately bumped into another cyclist outside. That person was on his way to Mt Bachelor and said it was a beautiful ride and we should join him. It turns out he works for a bike tour company called Cog Wild. The ride was gorgeous and roads were perfect My boyfriend decided to take one of Cog Wilds guided mountain bike rides the next day. Coincidentally that evening when we went to dinner we met another person who worked for Cog Wild and we were very impressed with him I highly recommend Cog Wild and would not recommend Hutches as a bike shop. Smart business owners know every person is a potential customer and should be treated accordingly. I don’t think Hutches has learned this lesson. if I were the owner I would fire this manager.

The enthusiasm of the employees is awesome. I was visiting Bend and they gave me great service and went out of their way to fit my bike with the correct 25 mm tires for my narrow chainstays. The other location was equally helpful with a specific issue regarding my Specialized helmet.
