I went there for the first time in years last night. I ordered a BLT sandwich. I could only eat half! It was so extra loaded with bacon. It was seriously the best BLT I’ve had here in Bend. Nice job!

For being a «country bar» there food is not bar like at all! I had the french dip and it was so good! The server was attentive and friendly and the dances were pretty easy to follow. We really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back for Karaōke!

They have a lot of features to offer… dance floor, FREE DANCE LESSONS!!, personable approachable instructors, occasionally live music, pool tables, mechanical bull. Mmm, they have things you can punch. And fake bucks you can shoot. If you’re a smoker, there’s a huge smoking area outside, pretty decent. Fire pit. Never seen it going… but it’s there. Plenty of parking.
The reason for 4 stars: the down-​side is that their drinks absolutely suck. Suck. Suck wickedly. And it’s a good thing they suck because getting a drink can be really hard — at the bar or at a table, etc. — the servers just pass you by repeatedly — don’t make eye contact — can’t figure out what the deal is… maybe they just focus on friends or regulars? I’m not aware of any other Country Bars around here with dance lessons & a decent dance floor.

It’s a large venue that’s split up into several areas. The main bar has plenty of room, the dance floor is fairly large, and the other side offers a place to sit down with pool tables and a mechanical bull. The bull usually offers plenty of entertainment. The bartenders are really quick and nice. The crowd is a bit of a mixture but easy to get along with. It gets pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Some nights will have a live band or a line dancing instructor.

A group of my girlfriends and I came down from Portland for a fun girls night out and line dancing… but it turned out to be not much fun. The regulars there were unkind to us and had no dance floor etiquette. The partner dancers were all over the floor, bumping into us, basically forcing us off the dance floor. The DJ would not play any of our requests and the bartender was rude. The server was great at first but the place was packed so she didn’t come back to check our drinks or clear the tables. Wasn’t her fault — short staffed for as busy as it was.
I don’t recommend this place unless you are a «regular» patron. They don’t take kindly to out of towners.

Cheap Bar, occasionally fun. Sadly the head bouncer sides with hate speech.
Went there for Oct 26th Halloween, and bumped into a guy wearing a funny costume, as a joke as I was also in a funny costume. He approached me soon after and threatened he would beat me if I came near him again. Was kicked out of the bar soon after by the «head of security», despite attempts to reason with him that it was a halloween party. Person who threatened my well-​being attempted to apologize, but it did not sway the bouncer who wanted me gone for reasons I could not divine from him.

It is the place to go for dancing on the weekends. A good mix of line and partner dancing. The dance lessons are free. The instructor, Noelle, on Fridays is the best!

So, the food is alright. The atmosphere is alright as well. I have a serious problem with this place however. My friend went in there with another friend during the week. They just went to play pool. The bartender, who also turned out to be management, asked if they wanted drinks. They said no. He brought them some anyway, saying «just in case you change your mind». They ended up drinking them. Shortly afterward my friend started to feel funny and act strange. She realized something was wrong and they both left. She realized the next day something may have been slipped into her drink. NOT COOL!!! It can’t be proven of course, but it’s enough to turn me off to this place.

Heard a lot about this place! Thought id try it out, when i got there was told only open to the private party no outsiders! I couldn’t believe it! So i ask why, was told they rent the building out to parties but rarely happens. I was mad that i came to this place from Prineville but i found another place not far and later called it a night. But guess what i called last wen. asked if they were going to be open Thurs. the following day got told yes. So I came back to bend to try them again. Got to the door was told I couldn’t come in by some cocky kid telling me it was a «private party bar’s close». Crazy way to run a place will not be trying again and would tell everyone to be cautious in going because its doesn’t sound like a public place to me, more of a private bar.

I had my wife’s and our friend’s 50th birthday party at Mavericks with 100 or so guests. We had a rip roaring time. The food was great, service excellent, and dancing a hoot. The staff was very friendly, thoughtful and efficient. Many of our guests are converts both to line dancing and to Mavericks. Thank you to Mike, Suzie, Kyle and the rest of the Maverick’s staff for a great night!

This is a delayed review but one that is still bugging me enough to wirte about it. Went in to Mavericks one night after the Sister’s Rodeo. Yes it was a busy night (seen it that way many Friday and Saturdays), but they only had two barbacks serving. The male server was quick and on his game, the female was slow and not organized. I waited patiently at the bar for 15 minutes (may have honestly been longer) snuck in behind a very large man who had taken up a lot of bar real estate. After 15 minutes she passed by many times serving people left and right of me. People that had just walked up to the bar. She had no organized pattern and obviously was clueless at the faces that had been there for awhile… I finally lost it when the large man returned and got his second round of drinks from the second row from the same gal. enjoyed the dancing, but not the bar !!

My friend and I went to the Halloween Party last Saturday. The live music was a lot of fun. I believe the group’s name was Hanger 52. My friend had the prime rib and mashed potatoes special and said they were very savory. I had her vegetables and would have preferred fresh over the frozen veggies, but $ 14 was a great price for the amount of food. The chef even came out to ask if we liked our meal which was a nice touch. Most importantly the drinks were well priced so we will be back.

Doing the cheeseburger & fries. House specialty. Forgot the cheese and the burger was just ok. Wouldn’t bother to go for the food.
