With years of scoliosis issues and then knee problems, I was told by my physical therapist that I needed to do pilates. I took his advice and joined From the Core in January of 2015. Little did I know that I would be having knee replacement surgery a year later and I can truly say that my recovery(I am at week 2 tomorrow) is amazing my Physical Therapists and it is all thanks to Pilates and the owner Nancy. From my first visit to my last before surgery, Nancy has worked with all my issues to make certain I am doing the best exercise for my body. She has done research between classes just to suggest something else that might help more. Nancy does this with all her clients. She works very hard to provide the best experience for each client — it is a continuing passion for her. Nancy is marvelous, but so are the other instructors at FTC and the clients are awesome! I am not a «class» type, but I miss the friends I’ve made there and their continuing support as I headed into surgery. I can’t wait to get back to the Studio! One last suggestion — when I first looked into FTC I called Nancy and asked if I could come for a tour of the studio and to meet her. I needed to be sure it was a good fit. Nancy encouraged me to come down, gave me a good tour, talked about my physical challenges and goals, and by the time I left, I knew I’d found an exercise home for the first time in my life. After 13 months I know I’ll be here for life. Thanks so much Nancy, and the FTC team and clients!

I’m in my mid 50’s and have been going to «From the Core Pilates» for almost 2 years. I’ve had back issues most of my life and Pilates has really made a big difference for the BETTER. The owner, Nancy is the best!!! She truly cares about her clients. She always keeps a close eye on how we work out to make sure we don’t do something that could get cause an injury. At this Pilates Studio the classes are small not like some places that have 20+ students and the instructor isn’t able to pay attention to all their students. I recommend her classes for anyone, especially for us more«mature gals».

I’m a 52 year old who runs 15 – 20 miles a week and I can honestly say that Pilates and the other classes offered at From the Core has improved my running tremendously, by strengthening my core and toning my entire body. I’ve been taking classes here for over 3 years and go 3 – 4 times a week and can’t imagine not having Pilates as part of my fitness routine. Nancy and Karen are extremely conscientious about everyone’s physical condition, limitations or fitness level. I love the small classes, since it allows everyone to get the attention they need in order to achieve their fitness goal and it’s been a fun way to build new friendships and see everyone’s progress as the weeks, months and years fly by.

I’m a big fan of Nancy’s wonderful pilates studio. I started taking her classes in 2001 and she has many devoted students who have also attended her Pilates classes for years. Pilates, as Nancy teaches it, has made me strong, flexible and has gone a long way toward helping with aches and pains that have plagued me for years. Nancy is always on the cutting edge of whatever is going on in the Pilates world and she introduces new techniques and equipment frequently. There’s never a dull moment and her classes are fun too. She is just the best.

Yes, it’s true! There is a dedicated pilates studio in Benicia. After 2 years of getting used to driving to Berkeley for good food and Walnut Creek for shopping, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I searched for pilates in Benicia and found it! Nancy runs a laid back studio with a dedicated client base who attend classes on a regular basis. In addition to her classes, she has 2 other instructors who teach. All 3 take a slightly different approach to their classes so there is no getting bored. In addition to the reformers, they use springboards, the chair, and light weights. Her classes are also affordable. $ 125/month for 3 classes a week.
