It really is hard to review because some stuff is good and the decorator Patti does THE BEST work I have ever seen. Unfortunately the owner Kim is not very good at customer service. She puts the blame on her employees rather than owning up to it. Had a «pound» cake or it was supposed to be, and it was the worst ever! Called to let Kim know and she sends me over to the decorator!!! What owner does that? She didnt apologize or try to make it right. She has always been rude and I continued to blow it off. Not anymore— Until she sells– I won’t go back

I’d had a birthday cake done by this bakery a few years back and it was great. Recently had a craving for strawberry frosted cupcakes, something I definitely couldn’t find in a run of the mill grocery store bakery section; I’m glad I didn’t. We ordered 4 gourmet sized strawberry frosted vanilla cupcakes, they were ready in about an hour, same day. Oh my god these cupcakes were HUGE! The cake was moist and delicious. The frosting was just what I was yearning for — sweet and packed with strawberry flavor along with fresh strawberry pieces. I’ll definitely be coming here more often for all of my cupcake needs.

I stop here and pick up brownies and carrot cake slices for special occasions, and some times those little no-​rise cookies that look like tiny funnel cakes (?). Love all of these. They have this indescribable «freshness» taste to them that only bakeries can provide.
I’ve heard the sticky buns are the best in town but they sell them by the sheet. On principal alone I refuse to let that many sticky buns congregate in my house at any one time.

Every time I have walked into this bakery (total of 3 times) the people working behind the counter have given me a look (i.e. What the hell does she want) and I did not feel welcome or wanted — door/​window is filled with all sorts of rude comments (I.e. Get off your cell phone type) Not a very customer friendly place.

I have been a ten year customer starting with my wedding cake to both of my daughters baptismal and seven years of birthday cakes. Not to mention all of the pastries I purchased there frequently for friends and relatives. A cake I recently ordered was not up to their usual standards and needless to say my husband and family was not impressed. I emailed and called to just explain my disappointment in the nicest way possible and did not receive a call or email back. There really isn’t another bakery around, but if you are not going to take care of loyal customers then it’s time for me to move on. Im saddened and disappointed.

I’d like to say wonderful things about this bakery. But sadly I can’t. First off i’d never heard of it. See my daughter found it on. here. Based in the positive reviews she thought this would be a good place to get my 50th birthday cake. Sadly she was mistaken. Don’t get me wrong, the cake «looked» great. That’s about where it ends. It breaks my heart that she shelled out the $ 130 plus for a very pretty but dry cake. I was going to go to Sam’s a Club to get a cake but my children felt I should have what they thought was better. Sadly they were wrong. To make matters worse my guests had to suffer for this unfortunate choice.

We used this bakery for our wedding cake and it was amazing! We had 4 tiers all different flavors of pound cake. My absolute favorite is their caramel pound cake. I almost didn’t try it at our taste test because I just thought it sounded weird but wow it was amazing. We ordered it for the top tier so we could take it home after the wedding. We looked up direction on preserving wedding cake online and persevered it in the freezer and it was still delicious on our one year anniversary!
Our second anniversary is coming up and want to order a mini caramel pound cake for the two of us.

This is our favorite bakery in the whole world! Their prices are great, the service is awesome, but most importantly, they make the tastiest treats out there!!! I love to stop in with my daughter to surprise daddy with a treat (and sneak a cannoli for the ride home!). They made my wedding cake, all my faghter’s birthday cakes and many cookie trays and holiday favorites. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed!!!

Disappointing to say the least. We ordered a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and picked it up the day before. We opened the box on Thanksgiving day and the pie had mold all over the top! Gross! I called to let them know and they offered nothing. How embarrassing for us to open the pie up (we were dinner guests) to have mold and what a waste of our money. At the very least we should have been given our money back. The girl on the phone said they bake the pies that day, well that’s obviously not true as mold takes a while to grow. They obviously baked tons of pies in advance for the holiday rush. That was our first and last experience with this bakery. Do not go here!

Hornberger’s delivered a lovely two-​tiered mini wedding cake to our office for a wedding shower. The buttercream icing and sugar flowers over a tasty (dense) vanilla (pound?) cake was delicious and gorgeous.
Easily fed 20 people (4 inch round over a 6 or 8 inch??).

I love using Hornbergers for all of my party cakes back in PA. Patty is the master baker I believe and she works with me on all designs I have ever come up with for my parties. She made me a cake to match the invitations I created for a 30th Luau as well as an Irish theme party and had a cake made like a Big Black Pot of Gold. (that cake was so heavy and awesome, it was the talk of the party). I won’t say they are the cheapest for custom cakes but when it comes to originality they can make it happen!

My go-​to place for Faschnachts. Every Fat Tuesday if possible. It’s out of the way for me so I can’t make it up there much more than that but they do a brisk business.
It’s a little hole in the wall place but the service was good, even though I’m not a regular (there were plenty of customers when I was there that were well known with the staff).
