I thought Pressroom was just a wee little café putting out decent coffee and average sandwiches, but BOY has it ever grown up! We ventured in to the new location after an afternoon meeting at Onyx Coffee Lab.(But that didn’t stop me from getting a flat white with brown sugar at Pressroom too– holy… Coffee was incredible. Two places to get stellar coffee on one block– is this heaven?!) The new menu– swooon! We sampled adventurous fare and the familiar– the chef’s cove oysters, salt & pepper squid, and bbq octopus. Seriously rivaled the freshest seafood I’ve sampled on both coasts. Salt & pepper squid was tender with a crisp coating, with veggies and a delicious sauce– it all had the essence of Vietnamese banh mi flavors. Wonderful. Bbq Octopus was grilled perfectly, also tender(not a common experience!), over edamame dressed in a delicious smokey broth. We also had chestnut agnolotti– just WOW– clearly homemade pasta and so deeply comforting, steak frites– that mushroom demi sauce tho!, and fork tender braised rabbit leg– which sat atop«cornbread purée» & greens. That dish might be my favorite! All perfectly cooked, well seasoned, intensely flavored, generous portions and so well thought out. We truly loved it all. We’ve been in and sampled through the food & drink menu several times since. Just can’t stay away! Menu has seasonal focus, some delicacies and some playful items, but even the burger is an absolute standout– makes it really hard to choose! Can’t go wrong with any of the signature cocktails. We’ve had thoughtful servers and even when there have been hiccups we’ve felt very well taken care of. Clear dedication to guest experience. Can’t wait for breakfast and lunch! Very happy for these hard-working folks, the flourishing downtown and for my belly. Because it’s really happy. P. S. Please let us buy whole loaves of your ancient grain breads to take home?!

New location is great. A complete upgrade from the previous one. They can accommodate way more people, but it seems that they are still struggling to ramp up on service. The start was kind of slow, we got our table, got served water, and it took a little while for the waiter to arrive, but once we started, the waiter was great. Complete renovated menu, more into fusion food. Lamb sausages were great, the korean chicken was awesome, on the desserts, everybody was surprised, because for example, the carrot cake does not look like a traditional carrot cake, but after tasting it, nobody complained on flavor. They still have to improve, but I will for sure come back more often than I used to.

Went out for a weeknight dinner this week. It was busy with young crowd enjoying their dinner and drinks. The new place has a modern look with a central bar with tables and lounge chairs spread around. We were enthusiastic to taste out their new menu. The menu has varied varieties divided in to water, soil and trees. We wanted to try their fried chicken dish but it’s not available as they didn’t do it. Reason was they think it’s going to be slow on Monday, so why bother make it. We ordered a lamb sausage and roasted cauliflower. The lamb sausage was good covered on a bed of pickled apples and horse radish spices. It was decent. My wife ordered roasted cauliflower which came with tasty risotto. We started liking the dish until my wife found a hair sticking out of the risotto. Yuk. We lost our appetite and decided to get out of there. They cut the dish out of our total price. I am hoping to go back for a better experience and availability of the dishes that are on the menu.

Great atmosphere, everything else is terrible. Was lied about bone in steak, the server thought Japanese whiskey was sake, and we waited for our food for an hour after ordering. Steak was badly cooked and tasted mediocre. All style and no substance.

Sat at table for 30 minutes and all we had was water. Waiter never came back to take our order. Finally just left. Very disappointed

They have moved and menu has changed… coffee is still good but not focus of establishment anymore. Atmosphere is amazing. Let’s just say the food is trendy… we tried porkrinds, steak frites, rabbit saddle, Korean fried chicken and carrot cake… VERYSALTY… I don’t like food that looks like it’s been played with… worst.carrot.cake.ever.
