Dr. Prus is an OK doctor. However, her staff is extremely disorganized and nasty. They have lost my files twice! It is bad enough losing it once, but twice? I have had numerous times where my pharmacy called to refill a prescription and the staff said, No she needs to make an appointment. Well, if they did their job correctly, they would see I already had an appointment. I can go on & on about her staff! They are so unprofessional. I wouldn’t be surprised if she lost a lot of customers due to the rudeness. I actually called today because they cancelled my appointment without making a new one. I asked who it was I saw last & she had no idea. I said, «Your office is just completely disorganized!» She replied «Don’t tell me how to do my job, honey!» Honestly, this is by far the worst office staff, They all need to be fired immediately.

1.) Dr. Prus is now in Maplewood and Hackensack with Empire Medical Associates. The contact info here is out of date. The Maplewood office number is 973−761−5200.
2.) She’s an endocrinologist who really gets thyroid and adrenal issues. And she’s down to earth and treats you like you’re intelligent and deserve to fully understand your lab results.
3.) Empire can do a lot of bloodwork on site. And as a person who is terrible about blood tests, and doesn’t like LabCorp, this is great!
4.) The office staff can be pretty hit-​or-​miss. I haven’t had major issues with them, but if you think you’ve been forgotten or they’re doing something stupid, I was warned they definitely are. I’ve had a couple near misses, and did leave after waiting 1.5 hours for a fasting blood test one day.
But an endocrinologist who truly understand thyroid issues and tests Free T3, and focuses on how you feel and your Free T4 levels is the holy grail for so many thyroid patients!
FYI, she is in only in the Maplewood office two or three days a week. I usually go Thursdays. The office does take credit cards for co-​pays.
