Elayne Savage gives you the tools you need to help you learn to solve your problems. She is dynamic and supportive and she really cares about her clients being successful. I have used foundations learned from her in dealing with all of the most complex issues I have faced in life. Her book Don’t Take It Personally!: The Art of Dealing with Rejection provides a concise no nonsense approach to problem solving in any social relationship you may need help with. I have given her book to several friends over the years. She is wonderful! I highly recommend her and her book.

Dr. Elayne Savage was a huge reason my husband and I are married today! About eight months before our wedding date, we were experiencing some relationship issues, and I had a lot of doubts about marriage. I knew that premarital counseling would be the next step in getting us through this time leading up to the wedding date.
I found Elayne through recommendations on Berkeley Parents Network and through her website. Once we scheduled an appointment, and after our first session, I knew we had made the right decision.
Elayne was absolutely wonderful and made us feel so comfortable talking about our issues. Over the course of weekly sessions for almost 6 months, she really helped us learn how to communicate better by giving us tools (which we practiced ritually) to use so that we can really «hear» one another and learn how to be lifelong partners and to be on the same team. She did an excellent job with really listening to our pasts and helping us clarify the roots of some or our relationship road blocks which were due to our individual and personal life experiences.
There is no doubt in my mind that she is a huge reason I was able to face my fears and doubts about marriage, work through them together with my husband, and have the fulfilling relationship we have today! We are so thankful for all her help and a restored happiness, communication, and determination in our marriage today!
