Extreme Pizza – Shattuck Ave.

This used to be our «go to» pizza delivery place. The pizza is decent and they consistently delivered quickly. However, the past three orders from them have taken over twice the quoted time. I’m currently waiting 2 hours for a pizza that was supposed to be here in 45 minutes to an hour. I called them, and they said it was «on it’s way». We’re opening a can of soup to keep the kids happy in the meantime. One of them has now nicknamed it «Extremely LATE Pizza.» I don’t know what’s happened to this place in the past few months) management changes maybe?) but I think I’ll find another place or just cook dinner.

A good go-​to place for a quick lunch or dinner, and I usually get two slices of thin crust pizza.
The customer service is laid back but pretty good, the people running the place are not rude whatsoever! One time when they gave me a pretty small two slices, I asked them about it, and they apologized and gave me an extra two slices. Very awesome!

Worst pizza I’ve had in a long time!
First off, like others mentioned online ordering doesn’t allow any coupons and it’s not very user friendly at all.
I decided to order anyways because the pictures looked pretty good. I was quoted 50 minutes, so when we got to the 1hour 15 minute mark, I decided to call. I was put onto hold, then no one answered for another 5+ minutes. I called back again and finally talking to someone that claimed it was just leaving the door… which was super disappointing to hear. They said that they were really busy and short staffed, but no offer of a discount or anything.
The pizza finally showed up… again no apology or offer to rectify the situation… almost a full 2 hours after I had ordered. We open the pizza to uncover a burnt pizza with an extremely crispy/​black crust.
A friend of mine had recommended this place to me, so I’m guessing this was just an off-​night, but nonetheless a very disappointing experience. I’m hoping these guys give me a coupon for a free pizza, so I can give it another shot. I won’t be trying this place again otherwise.

I’ve ordered a couple of times (thru GrubHub) and the delivery was amazingly fast. Afterwards, I ordered twice, and both got cancelled (automatically from Grubhub, because they did not get a response from Extreme Pizza!!!).
Then I ordered from their own website… confirmation email says 45 minutes.
After 1 hr from ordering, I called them. No one answered for a whole minute… then I got a strange excuse; because I ordered from grubhub first, then the order was cancelled I was pushed to the back of the queue, and the next order will be slower!!! And the estimated now is 30 minutes (that’s 90 minutes after I placed the order thru their website!)
2 HOURS for the pizza to arrive…
While the delivery is terribly slow… The pizza was hot, and delicious as usual… It is hard… should I suffer terrible service for great pizza? Nop… Pizza places are everywhere…

Amazing gluten free pizza that lasts for days… for one person that is. And love the salads. It really is my go-​to for this GF gal.

Pizza is just okay and not anything special. You can order by the slice but they just cook a single slice of pizza and take almost as long as a regular size pizza. Not sure what made the pizza «extreme». The name advertises a product that isn’t exciting enough.

Good pizza. That’s all.

It’s really hit or miss with this place. When they are on top of it, their pizza is high quality and delicious. Delivery, almost always takes more than an hour and I’ve come to reliably expect that. However, quality in delivery varies quite a bit. I’ve had pizzas missing half of their advertised toppings, some mostly burnt dough. This is not always the case but the variability makes me wary hence the 3 stars.

Ordered online for lunch for 10 hungry
promised delivery in about 50 minutes. 45 minutes later, I got a call saying that we ordered from the wrong Extreme Pizza. The guy on the phone suggested we call the other location to order because if we didn’t, it would take him about 2 – 3 hrs to deliver our pizzas.
Poor customer service, won’t ever try again!

I’m not sure why this particular location gets no love. We’ve been coming here since the first week we arrived in California – even when we were still driving out from Cupertino looking for a place to live.
Let me start with the customer service that everyone seems to have an issue with. I never had ANYTHING, BUT competent and caring service here. Help with what pizzas to give a try… Advice on the beers. Making sure we get the best deal. They care!
I’ve never had pizza here that wasn’t excellent; the aveiro, yard sale, spice route, poultry-​geist… ALL amazing… Good stuff for the pizza critics from Detroit!
Cody, Amber, and Taylor are amazing!!! Always friendly and helpful; they’re happy to see us when we walk in the door. Domanique has been here a few times & we also love Maria! Half of us coming here is the good pizza; the other half is the people! You’ve got good people! Hold on to them!

I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt…
First sign of downward spiral of service was when they ran out of cheese and canceled my order. Time waited in between to forget how ridiculous the last order ended… next time they delivered and it took almost 2 hours to arrive. Despite my son loving the pizza I will never order from them again.

Wow! I called to ask a question about whether they did cheese slices. I happened to mention at the end that I was coming in for one. I got there, paid, and waited no more than 3 seconds. The staff person had made it for me already, anticipating my arrival!!! One of those little things in life that feels totally good. Also I was double parked so I was able to leave quicker than I expected. Made my day!!!

Lets start with Customer Service:
It’s AWFUL. First, a woman called me to tell me they don’t deliver to my area when they always have in the past. Second, I tried to talk to her about it and she hung up on me! There’s no way hanging up on me is going to get me to recommend them to anyone.
Moving on to Logistics:
I get their coupons sent to my email but I can’t even use them. The website doesn’t accept any of the coupon codes and hasn’t in over a year. If I want to use one I need to call in and that defeats the whole purpose of ordering online. Next, the website tells me I can order for delivery but since the woman on the phone says I can’t then it shouldn’t be an option to start with. Furthermore, If I’m willing to pay for over priced pizza to be brought to my house by a random person that could’ve easily done something to it then I think my money is just as good as anyone else’s. Plus I tip off of tax, that means some person making minimum wage is missing out.
Food:
The pizza is great. I really enjoy it. But I will not go or buy from anywhere that treats me poorly or disrespects me in any shape or form. And I will make sure, no one else does either.

Delivery. 1^st time, Quality was awesome for a pizza, but I was shocked at price, especially compared to all the competitors. 2^nd and 3^rd time meh. 2.5 stars. Mediocre and expensive even with coupons. Sauce not the same, nor as good. 4^th time a disaster. Ordered 2x pizza and 2x wings. One set of wings raw. The other charred/​burnt. Everything late and cold. Called store. Told «that is how they always turn out. Not that bad, I packed them myself.» We just tossed everything, and are done. The food is bad enough and seems to be declining, but the response is inexcusable.

Customer Service is ridiculous. Do not order delivery from these people. I was advised that it would take over an hour, but they seemed annoyed that I still wanted to order. Then they got my order wrong and when I called they told me when I told them I had a coupon for one item they just assumed I wanted to put the coupon on another item I had already ordered.
I ordered the Pow-​Pows and the chocolate dripped out of the box and into the calzone box. Then when I ate them I found that the center was completely dough and inedible.
Pizza and sandwiches actually taste pretty good, but no where near the ridiculous prices and there are dozens of places that will get your order right for half the price.

Probably between 3 – 3.5 stars. Pretty good flavors and crust was decent. The baked potato topping almost sold me, but the potatoes were only parcooked, so the slices were hard in the middle
Price was a little on the high side, considering Sliver and Cheeseboard are not too far off and definitely set the standard for pizza in Berkeley. I can’t say I’d come here again, but if a slice was in front of me, I would eat it without question!

I received the WORST POSSIBLE SERVICE at this restaurant. Manager was RUDE & RACIST towards me after I had already paid and asked to change the channel on the TV. The manager continued to BLOW UP & SHOUT at me after I tried to rationally explain how UNPROFESSIONAL he was. I HIGHLY SUGGEST you eat somewhere else if you want to be respected as a paying customer!

the Holy Cow is pretty good, comes with walnuts and blue cheese baked into it. It’s crispy, solid construction without being burnt at the bottom, and slightly greasy.
This place is underrated if you just want a nice personal specialty pizza for ~$ 8 to carry out.

Lemme tell you bout that heartburn…

Cheap and tasty. I had the one with blue cheese, sage and walnuts; while junior had the classic pepperoni slice.
I wish they had more healthy drink options and better-​looking salads, but it’s okay for what it is.
